Wow! What a great experience here and a breath of fresh air. I had seen a car online that had all of the options I wanted. Apparently someone had traded in a MT CTS-V fully loaded with Recaro seats for that insane SRT Jeep. I inquired about it and they gave me the opportunity to put down a deposit. They said the car was flawless and that if anything was wrong with it, I would get a full refund. Well they were 100% right about the condition of the car, it was nice. The sales person Keith was a cool guy and everything they did was upfront and honest. The finance manager was also very helpful and did not push a lot of garbage add ons. They did everything right and I ended up saving 25k over a new CTS-V with these options. The car only had 8900 miles on it. They even gave me a full tank of gas which is sorely needed because this car goes through that fast! Never had such a smooth transaction at a car dealer, highly recommended. read more

I am not usually the type to leave reviews, good or bad. For the sake of others and in an effort to help prevent this from happening again, I feel like I need to share my story not only with everyone else that this could happen to in the future. I need to first say that I have been working in the automotive business with specificity to the service department since I was 18 years old (which makes 20+ years). I imparted this information on Joe in the service department to preface our interaction. I also feel the need to say that this experience does not and has not affected my opinion of the sales and finance departments, both of which I had an excellent experience with when I purchased my Jeep 3 years ago (almost to the day) from Madison Chrysler. With that in mind, I was having a mechanical issue with my Jeep pertaining to the 4WD System. Having already done my own research and due diligence on the issue and gotten the opinion of other professional colleagues, I was confident that I needed to have the transfer case module replaced. Upon scanning and diagnosing the issue, they reached out to Madison Chrysler and got prices on the part, and cost for necessary re-flashing and programming of the module. Armed with this information, I figured it would be easier if I took it to Madison Chrysler myself for the repair, even though the organization had gone through some major changes in personnel since then. I did so, with a hopeful and positive attitude. I explained everything to Joe in extensive detail on the phone that I had researched and found out up to date, and brought it in for what I was anticipating to be an easy fix, and a pleasant experience. That is NOT AT ALL what happened. ENTIRELY the opposite. After spending an hour and a half in the lounge waiting for a verdict, I was in TOTAL shock when I was told that not only did the module need to be replaced, but after listening to it with a stethoscope running on a lift, the transfer case was imminently on the verge of self-destruct and also needed to be replaced, along with the driveshaft to the tune of nearly $5,000. I was advised it was NOT safe to drive for very much longer and was also advised that it was likely not worth fixing because of the mileage and unknown other issues that were likely to come up in the future. Obviously this news is devastating to me! I left the dealership upset, confused, and terrified to even drive my vehicle back home. I started making arrangements expecting to have to replace my vehicle, and also made arrangements to get a second opinion since I had never dealt with Joe or any of the new technicians there before. Certainly warranted for a diagnosis so severe, especially since I am a single mother. I didn't want to have to get a new car if it wasn't totally necessary. Fortunately, due to my extensive work history in the automotive field, I happen to know a Master Chrysler technician who I not only can trust, but also worked for/with for nearly 10 years. I explained the situation, and he drove the vehicle and looked at it. Once he looked at everything, he assured me that my vehicle was not only perfectly safe to drive, but there was no noise or any other indication to him that my transfer case or driveshaft were compromised in ANY WAY. He simply confirmed that the module would likely need to be replaced and then re-programmed after replacement. After he replaced the module, I happily called AAA and had them tow it to a different Chrysler/Jeep dealer in my area for re-flashing and programming. Not only were they happy to assist me on my terms (having explained the entire situation in great detail after my terrible experience with Joe), but he came to me minutes after I arrived with the vehicle to inform me that this particular module did not require any kind of flashing or programming for it to be safely drivable after replacement. He assured me there were no codes stored or problems found, and sent me on my way, FREE OF CHARGE. What the service department did to me was CRIMINAL and DISGRACEFUL. It takes either a lot of guts or a complete and utter lack of empathy and total disregard for any other human being to be willing to BOLD-FACED LIE to people to squeeze any kind of money out of them that they can. This job should be about integrity and trust, and excellence and focus in honest and dependable customer service. I saw NONE of that, and it's experiences LIKE THIS that give dealerships a terrible name with people that ARE LEARY ABOUT TRUSTING THEM. THEY HAVE GOOD REASON TO BE WARY!! Not only was it a waste of my time, but also the MONEY I PAID THEM FOR THAT RIDICULOUS "DIAGNOSIS," AND I called AAA for nothing. It was sneaky, under-handed, disgraceful, and if this is how you choose to conduct business now, not only will I never be back, but I will go out of my way to make sure that Madison Chrysler NEVER SEES A DIME FROM ME OR ANYONE I CAN REACH WITH MY STORY EVER AGAIN!!! read more

Went here to buy out my lease (that I leased from them) & got Lawrence, who seemed agitated from the get-go, was extremely dismissive, wouldn't look up my buyout price or my account info, & then pulled a ballpark estimate out of his a$$ of what my interest rate & monthly payment would be without even knowing my exact buyout price or running any numbers or my credit history, and before knowing if I was putting anything down or what I wanted the loan duration to be. He did not plug one key into his computer to do any research, he just sat there & watched me rifle through my paperwork trying to find all of the info for him. I told him I could get a lower interest rate than what he was estimating through my bank and he immediately shut down the conversation and said they would not process the sale if I was using my own bank. I was in his office no more than 5 mins before he shuffled me out telling me to call my lease servicer to do the sale and that I could come back afterward so they could handle the registration, etc., although the lease servicer told me I had to visit a dealership to complete the sale. I felt like he was trying to strong-arm me being a woman that is trying to look out for my own financial interest. I had spoken to the dealership about the buyout months ago when I brought my Jeep in for routine maintenance and the mgr was very helpful & I was told to come in when the lease was up. I told them at that time that I was going to shop around for interest rates first because they're so high right now and they were understanding and did not imply that they could not process the sale if I went with another bank. I have purchased cars in the past at other dealerships using my own bank without any issues, so I was left feeling like my business is not worth it to them anymore because they're not getting as much money as they could out of me. I have left messages for the mgr to call me to talk about this but my calls have gone unreturned. I was a loyal customer and have recommended them to everyone, but will not do so anymore because it appears they no longer care about their loyal customers if they're not getting enough money out of them. read more

From the delivery of my 2015 Cherokee I should have been wary: little gas in the tank, no floor mats, thimble of washer fluid. Real cheap out. Then when I got error messages for the transmission I called them recently and received NO call back after three message were left, one in person to the secretary. TERRIBLE service! I then went to Branhaven Jeep in Branford which is superior, and they even gave me a loaner which the Madison place does not. They don't even help you arrange a rental. One thing is to NOT buy the Cherokee, another is to go to Branhaven from the start. I traded in the Cherokee with that 9 speed transmission that is widely panned on the Internet and get a new Macan. Dishonest -- went to buy a used car, never told me there was only one key until I went to drive off the lot.

My vehicle was taken in for service after breaking down on the side of the road. They performed $700 worth of repairs but estimated an additional $5000 to address anything. I elected to take it home and look for a new vehicle. The car stalled a couple of times on the drive home before finally dying on the side of the road again. I called the service shop to ask if they expected the vehicle to break down, and they told me they were not surprised. So why charge me $700 and then return a vehicle to me that was in worse condition than when it was dropped off? Crooked business. read more

I never even asked (yet) for a better price, they gave me a price before we even took a test drive. The deal breaker was, the car was traded in to them at over 30,000 miles, it had 31000 at time of test drive etc., and a service is due at 30,000. they would not do it. Beware. Brought my Jeep in for an electric issur (several codes) and a recall for a software update. After having my Jeep all day I was charged 280.00 for something that was to cost nothing. Service department said there was a charge due to the installation of an aftermarket chip that voided the warranty. The only issue with that was I had purchased this vehicle new in 2020, it was never out of my sight and had never had any modifications except suspension upgrade, wheels and tires. Never the less they said it was all set and good to go. The highway entrance is about a mile from the dealership and that was about how far I made it before it acted up again. So I'll sum this all up. i brought it to another dealership it was a starbus connector and it's been great ever since. Lesson of the day don't bring your Jeep to a dealership until you do your research on them and always take the advice if someone tells you if they had a bad experience. read more

This place was highly recommended so when my 2012 Jeep GC needed some minor service I figured I'd try this place out. I just purchased this car a few months ago so it's the first time I have needed to bring it for service. The things that need to be fixed are rather minor I feel, however, when I called service I got a response of (insert Office Space boss's voice here) "yeeaaah that's gonna take a while" to the 2 concerns I had. I was then told my Jeep would require body work to fix a piece of molding that had snapped off. I called another dealership and everything was no problem! They were happy to set up an appointment for me. I also spoke with a woman instead of some guy who just assumed I have no CLUE about anything automotive. So frustrating! read more

Yesterday I completed the purchase of a new Jeep Grand Cherokee at Madison Jeep and was very impressed at the level of attention they give to the customer. Alex, my sales rep, was not pushy at all when we first met and did not try to force a deal right away. He nicely asked for my cell # and said he'd be in touch if anyone else called/came in with interest in my car. And sure enough, by the time I got home he had texted and allowed me the opportunity to put a down deposit on the car before it was gone. Senior management was also excellent in following up and ensuring everything went according to plan and that I was happy. I purchased a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon in Oct 2012 from this dealership. The vehicle was purchased to be registered in MA. The dealership provided me with paperwork to register the vehicle originally filled out in the titled owners husbands name. Then in an attempt to correct that mistake, they sent me corrected paperwork in the correct owner's name but the dealership never signed the new form. On the third time, they sent the wrong version of the form, not the one intended for the DMV. While trying to get this straightened out and speaking with an employee at the dealership, she told me "this is why I hate dealing with people from out of state". Finally, it took four attempts and almost a month later to register my vehicle. I also had to pay interest on my sales tax because it took so long to register the vehicle. The vehicle also had a bra covering the front of the hood. While inspecting the vehicle, I asked "how does this come off" in an attempt to inspect under the hood. The salesman replied "I'm not sure, it's really on there" as we both made a brief attempt to remove it. At that point, I assumed in good faith that nothing was being hidden. When I got the vehicle home, a few days later, I removed the bra and discovered that the paint was badly faded and the hood needed to be repainted. The dealership claimed to not be aware of the paint fade. If they had detailed the vehicle proper prior to delivery, they would have noticed this. They made no offers to correct the problem. After finally registering the vehicle, I contacted the dealership and requested a refund or partial refund for the dealer's documentation fee. After not hearing back, I filed a complaint with the better business bureau. When the dealership was notified, I was contacted by the vice president of the dealership informing me that he thought his salesman was following up with me and that his salesman thought he (the Vice President) was following up with me to resolve the issue. He then advised that, since I filed a complaint with the BBB, he is not willing to work with me and that he is upset about the complaint. read more

I purchased a recently off lease 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited from Fairfield Chrysler/jeep in late December of last year. In January I noticed that one section of the LED lights that surround the right headlight had turned bluish. I did some research and found other owners had experienced similar problems. I then went to Madison Chrysler/Jeep for warranty service. Upon arrival I was met by Bob Mancini, the service manager who went out to look at the light and take a picture to document the problem. I was told to give them a few days to contract Chrysler about warranty service. Upon my return Mr. Mancini told me they could not determine if my warranty would cover this since it was considered a "light bulb" and my not be covered. It was possible someone had replaced this one section with blue LEDs. Ridiculous! Who would do that, makes no sense! This 3" section has a part cost of over $1000. He suggested I contact the dealer I purchased the vehicle from to see if they would take care of the issue. I contacted the Fairfield dealership and sent them the picture of the failed part. Next day they informed me it was covered. I went back to Madison Jeep and informed them the Fairfield dealer said the part was covered. Mr. Mancini then asked me why I don't just go to them to take care of the issue. I was outraged, why should I drive almost 100 miles to take care of a warranty issue? His next statement was even more outrageous. He said, "You had no problem driving down there to purchase the vehicle, did you?" Really? This is how you treat a customer? A meeting with the dealership owner got me nowhere. He told me I would have to sign a letter making me responsible for the cost of the repair if Chrysler would not cover it under warranty and they would not know that until they sent the part back to Chrysler. Calls to Branford Jeep and North Haven Jeep resulted in my being told by both that it was covered under warranty. How is it Madison could not determine if this was a warranty repair if 3 other dearlerships could? It became obvious to me that the Madison dealership simply did not want to deal with my problem since I did not purchase the vehicle from them. I told them I would not sign the letter and the Fairfield dealership ordered the part, it arrived in a few days, and I drove the 100 miles round trip and they installed it in two hours, no questions, no hassles. Do yourself a favor take your business elsewhere and don't deal with the rude and unprofessional people at Madison Chrysler Jeep. read more

Left the lot with a 22k car and a 2k warranty with a vibration you can hear and feel in the steering wheel. Took the service manager out after following his advice to drive it for a while and he agreed there was an issue but said it would be hard to pinpoint the issue so there was nothing they could do. After a bunch of back and forth between the sales department and the service department all of a sudden they had all agreed there was no vibration or issue at all and there was nothing they could do even with a bumper to bumper warranty being purchased with the vehicle. No call backs from service just a text saying I would be charged if I didn't pick the vehicle up within 48 hours. After sales assured me 3 people had taken the car out and could hear or feel nothing abnormal. I picked the vehicle up and was the same vibration as soon as I left the lot. This dealership is an absolute joke and they will not stand behind the vehicles they are selling. read more

Purchased a Patriot in 08 with a "lifetime" drive train (engine, transmission, rear end) guarantee. Clunking noises developed and were due to faulty rear end. 2 out of 3 problems were fixed under the supposed guarantee, the rear insulator was not covered for some reason. Went back & forth with jeep corporate and madison jeep. They refused to cover the $600 to fix it right. I guess only some parts of the lifetime drive train "guarantee" are covered. We won't be buying another vehicle there, ever. read more

Before you service your car here READ THIS in it's entirety! At best, they are unethical. Brought a Jeep I bought privately in for service to diagnose a light tapping in the engine. They called me later in the day to tell me they needed three hours of labor to diagnose the problem because it was coming from "deep in the engine" and they needed to tear down the engine to get at it. I begrudgingly agreed to pay the $300 for the diagnosis just so I had piece of mind. Got a call later saying that I needed all new pushrods and tappets and that it would be $1800+. After talking to another mechanic elsewhere, he said to just drive the Jeep with the noise and get it out of there. I called the service manager back to tell him I didn't want to do the service and he said "no problem, but I need another three or four hours of labor to put the engine back together". At this point the conversation became heated because they told me three hours of labor to diagnose and now they were trying to charge me and additional $300-$400 just to take the Jeep home. I explained that this was basically extortion and the service manager said "you are more than welcome to tow it out of here in pieces". At this point I am fuming and faced with $700 for the diagnosis or $1600 to repair it (I negotiated a whopping 10% discount off the original quote). I agreed to have them do the repair (worst mistake I made). They told me it would be done by Friday. I get a call the following Tuesday..."We fixed the tapping noise, but now we hear another tapping noise and need more labor to diagnose". I told them to forget it and put the Jeep back together. When I got there, I took a ride with the service manager only to hear the EXACT SAME tapping noise that I dropped it off with. Of course he was telling me "this is a different noise that you couldn't hear before". Ridiculous! They basically extorted me into performing a service I didn't want to do and the service they did perform did not fix the problem. I've logged a complaint with the DMV who told me it is out of their jurisdiction, however, if I had refused the service and had to pay the extra labor to put the engine back together that they would absolutely have forced them to refund me the extra money. I logged a complaint with Jeep corporate and also disputed the charge with my credit card company. Of course Madison Jeep's position is "you authorized a service, we performed the necessary service and need to get paid". They went on to tell me how badly damaged the engine was. Whether the engine was bad or good is irrelevant to the way they handled this experience. Bottom line...unless you want to deal with people of questionable character, I'd steer clear of Madison Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and take your car for service elsewhere. read more

What can I say except that this is the place to go for Jeep purchases...Brandon was a terrific person to deal with - in fact highly comparable to my best experience when Saturn first came on the scene.....not only was his trade offer reasonable but he was willing to work with me on the price of the new car. For most of us, buying a new vehicle is akin to having a root canal with no sedative, but Brandon and company made the experience enjoyable. This is a family run business which beats the hell out of auto malls that care only about how much money they can stuff in their own pockets. I scheduled an online service appointment a week out to address three recall notifications to my Ram Truck. When I arrived, I was told they had no record for my appointment. The service rep said their website for online appointments doesn't really work. The service rep did add that I could leave my truck and they could try to squeeze it in, but to me that defeats the purpose of scheduling an appointment. I also overheard one of the mechanics discussing with the service rep about processing the paperwork of another customer's vehicle, to which the service rep said he never saw it. My impression of the service department is that it has an unorganized and inefficient process to manage customers. I was hoping to have this dealership as my "go to" place for future vehicle services due to it being in my local area, but will now opt for one of the several other Ram dealerships that are equidistant to me. read more
