After placing an order on Uber Eats for the Mixed Grill, Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Biryani & 2 Mango Lassi. It arrived shortly still super hot!! OMG the Mixed Grill was a Grand Slam, which consisted of Lamb & Chicken Kebabs, Chicken Malay, Tandoori Shrimp & Lamb Chops(which were cooked with love) Chicken Tikka Masala was polite and yet very zestful. Chicken Biryani had marinated chunks of tender chicken and blissfully fragrant. Mango Lassi was not to overly sweet and thick! Ordered takeout for two and will definitely be coming back again soon! I had to take a lactaid for the vegetable samosas since they have cottage cheese but it was definitely worth it. Crunchy on the outside and I loved the soft, flavorful filling. The lamb shekh kabab was good, but the chicken & lamb over rice combo was AMAZING because of the rich flavors, tender meat, and delicious sauce. The combo comes with naan and we ordered an extra, this was all very filling and I'm still thinking about this meal the day after. Next time it'll be hard deciding between getting the same exact order or trying more of the menu! read more

COVID-19 Disaster! We ordered delivery from Maroosh right when they opened. We got the butter chicken, vegetable samosas, lamb over rice and garlic nan. The butter chicken has a funky old, like they made it the night before, taste. We took one bite and threw it away. The nan's texture was like it was sitting for hours. The lamb over rice tasted old too and the white sauce was congealed. The samosas were fine. Since we ordered delivery for right when they opened for the day, they probably used whatever was left over from the last day. We called Grubhub to get a refund and the restaurant wanted pick up the food to "investigate". We told them we had already thrown it away but they could have the trash bag that it was in. They then refused to give us a refund because they wanted to have it packaged like it came. We suspect they wanted to sell it to someone else! We will never return to Maroosh. The food today was absolutely disgusting. I hope we don't get food poisoning. read more

This restaurant looks tiny on the outside but when you step inside there are many tables where you could sit. The place is extremely clean and even the bathrooms were clean. The menu is extensive and the prices are reasonable. I ordered the biryani mild- so my daughter can eat with me. But it was still a little spicy for her taste, or any person that doesn't tolerate spicy. My husband enjoyed his chicken tikka masala which is go to dish anywhere. Please don't waste your time or your money. I ordered delivery and it took an hour and a half to get my food. Then to my extreme disappointment the food wasn't good. The samosas tastes like they were fried in old oil and maybe they were par fried, and then fried completely as they are ordered. I don't know but they were not good. I got chicken and lamb over rice, the lamb was tough and over cooked, the chicken wasn't season and the onion and bell peppers were weird. My daughter got chicken over rice. If we were not quarantined, it would have been cheaper and better to go to halal truck, and know for sure you're getting something that taste good and is worth the price, as opposed to spending over $30 for food that ended up in the trash!! read more

This place has gone downhill. Ordered delivery during Covid, and it arrived very shortly after the place opened. Delighted, we started eating. The lamb over rice was clearly refrigerated from the night before, because the white sauce was congealed and cold. The butter chicken we got tasted old and spoiled. The garlic naan and regular naan was cold, and was not cooked recently. We called customer support and were told we'd be granted a refund, if we GAVE THEM BACK THE FOOD (EW!!!). So they called us back and demanded that the food be in its original package to process a refund (kind of like they were going to refrigerate it and sell it to some other fool). I told them it was already in the trash, and they denied a refund. Now, think for yourself, why would a business suspected of selling spoiled food want their spoiled food back in its original package? Never ordering from here again- you shouldn't either unless you like your chicken 'aged'. read more

This has become the new go to hidden gem for my wife and I. The Kathi rolls are quite simply one of the best bargains out there. For 6 bucks, they're huge and overstuffed. Since my last review, I've eaten in the restaurant a number of times. I don't know why it's empty, as it is one of the best Indian cuisine restaurants you will find in and around Philly. I've had issues with their delivery service, GrubHub (absolute trash; long live Eat24 circa 2014). Once I stopped ordering food via delivery and started showing up in-person to eat, I found it to be a pleasurable and relaxing experience. The food was excellent, and there was a wide selection on the menu. They had many vegetarian options. The portions were more than adequate, and their combination platters provide a nice sampling. However, the service was quite slow, even though only two tables were occupied. Also, the staff had trouble following directions, and they did not understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan, which could be a problem if you are a vegan. read more

I dig the ever loving crap out of this place for a restaurant in Upper Darby. It's cheap, the food tastes great, and the garlic naan was so buttery and garlicky, I love it. I'm not a fan of their samosas, meat or vegetable, as it's so soggy, but it doesn't matter if everything else tastes good. I even liked their eggplant pakora and the lord knows I don't eat vegetables, besides broccoli. My favorite dish has be the dal makhani. Chicken Samosas were good but my least favorite of the meal. They seem to be made much earlier than left under the warmer. Naan was chewy, with just the right amount of char, lovely! Chicken Vindaloo I ordered extra spicy, it did not disappoint. Large chunks of chicken and potato in a spicy red sauce. It was more oily than I am used to but I dumped the oil off the top then poured the vindaloo over my rice. Made for a great evening where I didn't have time to cook. read more

I just recently was introduced to Indian food when I was in New York and was blown away by the flavors. I have been looking for a great Indian spot nearby and ordered delivery from here tonight. I'm so glad I did! The garlic naan was amazing, I got Bhindi Masala and i already want to order again. So so flavorful and perfectly spicy. The mulligatawny soup was very tasty and the chicken wings were so flavorful and crispy. Excellent food! This will definitely be my go to spot from now on. Update: ordered again tonight, got my Bhindi Masala again, just as good as last time. We also ordered chicken Tikka Masala. Omg. I could have drank the sauce with a straw it was that good. You can just taste the time and love that went into cooking this food. Wow! I was so impressed by this delectable gem of a restaurant in Upper Darby. Gone are the days when I've treked to University City for exquisite Halal cuisine. Not only is the food flavorful and full of bold spices, but the artwork and music add to the experience. Placed an order via Grubhub, only to find it cancelled almost a half hour after I was told it was being worked on. I called the restaurant and was told that they simply just cancel Grubhub orders that they don't feel like doing because they are busy. Instead of calling a customer to let them know it will be delayed, they cancel and expect you to just forget about it. I was told they don't want to send a driver 12 minutes away because it's too far. Now, being a DoorDash driver myself, this is pathetic. I've delivered to entirely different counties, because someone ordered food, and is expecting it. It sucks sometimes, but it's my job. Don't even need to try the food here to eliminate it from my interests. Any restaurant that tells me that I'm essentially an expendable customer that can simply be swiped left, like a bad tinder match, can be just as easily forgotten about. Don't be deterred by the atmosphere of the place (feels more like a quick stop than a full restaurant)-- give it a try. The samosas are fantastic as is the chicken tikka masala. There is also a cauliflower appetizer that is a must get (I forgot the name because I was stunned this non-cauliflower-loving-gal was inhaling this dish!).
