I'm trying to think of any place at any time where a hamburger was so bad, but can't come up with anything. It wasn't burnt, it just tasted like it was cooked from frozen and sat on the grill for the entire 70 minutes we waited and slowly heated the life out of the meat. It was almost like they wanted it to be horrible. I've never been to a place that charged for fried onions on the burger. French fries were clearly from frozen and the freezer burn taste was strong. And due to the wait, arrived cold. We did have wings that were pretty good, sauces were nicely done. As far as ambiance, there were tons of televisions but all were showing the game show network, really? The NBA playoffs were on and we're showing Family Feud on every single TV, weird. This was the only food place in town that was open, in the future we'll go to another town. And I will not be visiting the butcher either, if you can't cook a burger I have doubts you'd know how to butcher the meat. I'm surprised the people who live in Kimball would ever go to this place.

The atmosphere strikes that perfect balance between cozy and relaxed, thanks in no small part to the awesome tin ceiling-- it kind of gives this place a vintage charm you don't see often. I had another bad experience at this establishment about a year ago and never thought I would go back and I did and total mistake . This is where I was surprised she asked for a bank card upfront to hold in her house POS machine prior to the meal arriving. So pay or show you can pay first before I put your food order in to be made? I didn't like that request as I wasn't starting a tab. I was ordering food, but it's the pub policy. The food arrived and the sandwich was nice but the corned beef was a little dry for my taste. It did have good flavor and if I order it next time I will ask for a condiment that pairs well with it like horseradish sauce. The French fries were crispy and I ate them all. The Coke was a Coke nothing special. I decided to order dessert and went with the bread pudding and I should have started with that first. That was a good bread pudding not too sweet and not too bland. The cream on top provided the needed moisture. Do order the dessert! Yum. I'm giving it a solid 3.9 but it would have been a 4 but that ask for a card upfront got to me. I'm not used to that unless you are opening a beer tab.
