Keeks is a little hole in the wall restaurant in a little hole in the wall town with a surprisingly good menu and great food. We have to drive a half hour to get there but the pizza, burgers and weekly specials make the trip worth the travel time. This place started out really good and fairly priced. Then as they went on, they started making excuses about chicken and the pieces were smaller than your pinky and blamed it on their supplier took no responsibility at all. Service has always been wonderful, but the food has turned bad just simply bad. No thought is put into it. The french fries come out underdone cold, and sloppy. They actually break when you pick them up. We used to eat there twice a week stopped eating there altogether because they just didn't care. Order an egg salad sandwich. It's supposed to come with mayonnaise. It's an egg salad sandwich you want mayonnaise on your egg salad sandwich it's gonna cost you $.50 do you want a slice of raw onions it can be anywhere from $.50 to a dollar Fries don't come with ketchup It's an extra dollar 50 if they could charge for ketchup they would I think they actually tried to order a $15 hamburger you're not gonna get any onion on it. You're not gonna get a pickle with it and you pay for french fries that are awful But the crown jewel here is was very cold and we were forced to go there thinking maybe they were trying more what we found was a very expensive menu ordered. I'll have a slice of onion with my hamburger my $15 hamburger I couldn't have a slice of onion unless I paid for it and it was unclear how much it was going to cost if I wanted pickles that was going to cost $.50 somebody actually tried to charge the person I was with $.50 for mustard. They've lost our business forever and what I hear about town is the same thing. They are expensive and they don't give you enough food. The portions are extremely small if you get into the Italian service.. and I'm pretty sure they have their kid running in the kitchen and I don't think he's capable of doing it. At the end of the meal, a woman came out and asked truly how we felt about it. I was gentle and explaining to her that I thought that a hamburger should come with condiments. She said I'm a manager here. Also, I'll see what I can do for you. She never returned back to the table. She went and hid. I wasn't expecting to get anything for free But when they come to your table and say how is everything and you're honest and then they go on hide that's disgusting. I would avoid this place. Absolutely. They treat their customers like we're stupid and they out and outright cheat you. read more

Wow what a pleasant surprise in Watkins!! Our server informed us that the owner studied in New York, managed Noodles and Co and that majority of the menu is made from scratch. There is no beer on tap but the selection is broad. Food menu has variety and is also large. We started with the pretzel and cheese. It's giant and served hanging on what I swear is a banana bunch holder. It came fresh, warm and delicious with a cheese dip which was amazing. Only critique is that the cheese was runny and messy but again, delicious. Also ordered the fish and chips and shrimp Alfredo. Neither entree disappointed. Alfredo sauce was creamy and salty, fish had a perfectly crispy batter. For dessert we ordered a creme brûlée and root beer float. Both were portioned small enough that we could finish them after feasting on everything else. They sell frozen pizzas on the way out which we purchased to try later! Also a bonus is that they have a drive-they thru that sells their food and they have an espresso bar. This place is a gem and we will definitely be back!! read more

Exceptional food and wonderful service. Our waitress was a gem and truly attentive. Our drinks stayed full and the conversation was delightful. The wings were huge and meaty, the pizza was perfectly balanced, the lasagne was robust and full of cheese, and our teen age daughter said the Mac and cheese was better than her favorite 'noodles' place! High praise! We were even granted an audience with the owner and chef who was very personable and genuine. This place is worth the drive. read more

After passing this place 50 or so times enroute to the cabin, doubled back there for dinner and was well pleased. Great service and a top ten of all time chicken melt sandwich accompanied by a Beaver Island Oatmeal Stout were my jam. What can I say other, I wish I lived closer to this place. Affordable and high quality grub. The salad I had was fresh and mixed greens instead of plain romaine, or the dreaded bowl of iceberg. Best kraut pizza I've had in a long time. Flakey crust and delicious sausage set this above the others I've had. The burgers are good size and come with a few interesting toppings. I should also add that our waitress was friendly and attentive. What a great little find, you have to look for it though, it's in the same building as the liquor store and yelp and google gps will put you about 2 mi west of the actual location. This restaurant is in a little out of the way town on Highway 55. Food is amazing, prices reasonable. Their pizza is exceptional and so is their steak sandwich. It doesn't look like much from the highway, but don't let that fool you. It is FIRST CLASS! read more

Personally I haven't been the keeks a lot but it is a pretty good restaurant if you're looking to go somewhere pretty expensive though I run your book for a full meal about $60 so it's pretty good quality food read more

This was really good with nice large salads and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere was a little dull but clean and comfortable. Service was good but for a group of six and nobody else there, it did take a full hour. The Keeks vinegerette was delicious! read more

Very good food, a little bit overpriced, not a lot on the menu. Update went there a few more time and all was good now this last time my fries were dropped on the ground and the proceed to pick them up and add them with brand new fries so some are dirty and over cooked and some are so soggy they arnt even cooked and my cheese burger from sitting there for 10 mins had gotten gross and to top it off I bite into it and it's undercooked like red not pink red I've had good experiences here but when you half ass it nothings good my advice is fire the dumbass cook I'm sure it's no mystery.... will not return read more

Keeks is definitely a great addition to the area. It is by far the best place in this area to eat! We tried a variety a things.. My hubby had the mushroom and Swiss burger with fries. I had the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. My kids split a cheeseburger and fries. We also got an order of chicken strips and dry rub wings. Pros: The atmosphere was clean and welcoming. The service was absolutely great. The taste of the burgers was very good. The buns tasted very good. The chicken tenders were real chicken and battered nicely. The slaw that comes with the dinners was good as well. The wings were very good and flavorful. Cons: The buns were too large for the size of the burgers. They don't have an actual kids menu, so it's kind of ridiculous to pay ten bucks for a kids burger. The fries were soggy, they need to find a way to crisp them up. The onion wings were literally dripping with grease from the fryer. Suggestions: get a kids menu to make the place more family friendly. Also maybe add a desert or two. We will definitely be back and we are super excited to try the pizza on a Wednesday night when they are on special. It's a little spendy for the area but I will pay more for fresh ingredients. This is my favorite restaurant. My go-to place for guilt-free mac-n-cheese and french fries! All the dishes are made from scratch, and they cook using fresh local ingredients. Even the salad dressings & pickles are made in-house! If you care about what you are eating & putting into your body, or even if you don't, and just like damn good comfort food, this is the restaurant for you. The service is outstanding as well!
