She said it's "all natural" I said I'm not using it, it's not good to use sanitizer all the time. No thank you. She said we prefer that everyone uses it and I said no, I'm leaving. With all of the actual science that's out, the fact that you have to use poisonous, toxic "sanitizer" that's only 62% (which is not even optimal for killing germs, 70-71% is) is not even effective. WHY are you forcing people to use it? It's NOT scientific, it's NOT effective and NOT necessary. Stop harassing potential customers. It's such poor taste.

The store itself is gorgeous and spacious, so you can avoid the fight-over-the-rack that can happen at similar boutiques. I thought the selection was a shockingly good range of prices and had a great assortment. A few items actually surprised me at their price-- I think the store has a really keen eye and doesn't stock clothes that are cheaper, just those that are awesome and happen to be less expensive. Selection included some French Connection, seven jeans, Hudson jeans, Paige jeans, and a ton of gorgeous brands that I had never heard of. A lot of their items are UVa/Charlottesville themed -- make great gifts for friends! Some of their items can be a bit pricey, but they do have great sales and a wide selection -- I have come in for formal dresses and for oversized tees. I have found the staff very friendly in my experiences here! When I ask questions they are quick to help, and they always say something nice when you leave the dressing rooms in a new outfit. There are finches in the store like other reviews have said, but I think to say that that is unethical is a misconception. The birds have a cage large enough for them to move and fly about in, it is stocked with toys and food. I have seen staff (maybe the owner) interact with the birds while I am shopping, so they are given attention. I have seen no signs of aggression in my many, MANY moments watching the birds while friends browse the store, meaning they are likely well socialized. Overall I think this is a cute place to stop, especially for students already near the Corner.

There's a display of Scout bags, one with fun socks and hosiery and one with stationery and bedazzled pens! The lady helping us was sweet and friendly.
