Got Kohl's cash? Think you're getting a deal? Think again! This set was on sale last week for $79.99, Guess what? This week (redeemable Kohl's cash week) it's $324.99! Where's the savings? Scam! False advertising!

Ok here me out. Was there a Kohl's at this location? No. Did we drive out of our way to purchase a swimsuit for my out of town child to wear to a public pool in Virginia? Yes. Did I, with bloodshot eyes, yell at my child TODAY ISNT ONLY ABOUT YOU at a nearby CVS and did my husband tell me to my face "you're gross" moments before we set off on our journey to procure said swimsuit? Also, yes. But all in all, a great lesson in humility, patience, packing and community. I highly recommend checking out Onesty Public Pool just 5 minutes from the Charlottesville mall. They kick the kids out every 45 minutes and parents get to rule the lazy river. You can't get a side of nacho cheese for your soft pretzel but you can ask for a nacho, hold the chips.

This Charlottesville location is perfect for me. It is too far to visit daily, but close enough to visit on the way to family activities. This store seems to have two audiences: Those who will purchase a $600 designer handbag and those who are focused on the sale items. There was a nice selection of purses (the Jessica Simpson bags were cheaper here, but there was a wider selection of styles across the street at stein Mart). There was an overkill with "sales. Certain brands had "buy one get two free" promotions. If you sign up for Belk's credit card, you get 20% off of your total purchase and a 20% off coupon that doesn't expire. The dress regularly priced at $106, could have just been priced at 19.99 without any promotions (I didn't buy it). The dressing room was overwhelmed with discarded "Don't want this" items. The sales people were polite and able to have on-going conversations while ringing up my items. If you want to save money on cute outfits and you don't need actual help on the floor, this is a great place to shop. Bonus points for the cute themed socks (they even have DC and the Cherry Blossoms).

Every nook and cranny of this creatively designed shop was overflowing with eclectic treasures. You'd swear you'd find Iris Apfel herself shopping in this dream house! After sifting through troves of wares, I settled upon an artfully designed, one-of-a-kind vintage purse covered with charms, game pieces, gears, buttons and other miniature notions (there's even a tiny tea cup and saucer by the clasp!). One look and I fell for it, hook, line, and sinker! I was in love! And the price? A measly $38! The compliments this beauty will elicit? Priceless! As I meandered through the store, the cheerfully patterned tights tempted me... the wacky but wonderful statement necklaces wooed me... the funky and fearlessly designed tunics tempted me... the shutter displays of baubles teased me.... but I resisted... THIS TIME...(evil laugh) mwah haha!! I thought "one precious item is enough for now"! Next time I'm sure I'll succumb to adding more of these exclusive pieces to my closet. The sales lady, classy and elegantly attired, snazzily and peerlessly accessorized not only assisted me with grace, but she also gave us a brief history about the store and it's designers. Yes, upon my next visit to Posh, I'm sure I'll be poshitively thrilled.

It's an adorable shop run by an amazing group of incredible, caring people who put a great deal of time and effort into curating a welcoming environment for people from all walks of life. They are very selective about the items that they agree to consign, so shoppers have a ton of high-quality, in-style options to choose from. It's honestly dangerous to go in there because there is always something cute that I MUST have; however, if you have a clothing problem like I do, when you're not buying new, you can at least shop with a clean conscience! On the other end, the consignment process is simple, clear, and quick, and you are reasonably compensated when your items sell, especially if you opt for store credit payout. The dressing rooms are honestly my favorite part. When you walk in, you're greeted by hundreds of sticky notes with positive affirmations posted by other shoppers. It's like the positivity and immediate camaraderie you find in the womens' restroom at a club (but without all of the bottom-shelf liquor). Shop small, and shop secondhand!
