Prices are moderate, reasonable for what you'd expect for free-trade items. Check them out for unique clothing, accessories, and gifts. Parking is available on the street in non-metered spots nearby.

Elean or keeps her store stocked with seasonally appropriate wear and offers fantastic deals (currently a fall sale). I was looking through the…read moreracks and found everything was very trendy and super cute, however when I tried to find my size I was unable to find anything over a size Large or size 30 waist (size 8). When I approached the owner about finding something in another size she mentioned that she carried sizes that were appropriate to her customer base and if she stocked items with every size available she wouldn't make any money. Basically shaming me for needing a larger size. I wasn't asking for anything extreme just a size XL (to fit the girls) or a size 10 jeans. I don't need the rude attitude and I'll happily take my business downtown to another boutique in town that doesn't passively fat shame women.

Every nook and cranny of this creatively designed shop was overflowing with eclectic treasures. You'd swear you'd find Iris Apfel herself shopping in this dream house! After sifting through troves of wares, I settled upon an artfully designed, one-of-a-kind vintage purse covered with charms, game pieces, gears, buttons and other miniature notions (there's even a tiny tea cup and saucer by the clasp!). One look and I fell for it, hook, line, and sinker! I was in love! And the price? A measly $38! The compliments this beauty will elicit? Priceless! As I meandered through the store, the cheerfully patterned tights tempted me... the wacky but wonderful statement necklaces wooed me... the funky and fearlessly designed tunics tempted me... the shutter displays of baubles teased me.... but I resisted... THIS TIME...(evil laugh) mwah haha!! I thought "one precious item is enough for now"! Next time I'm sure I'll succumb to adding more of these exclusive pieces to my closet. The store itself is gorgeous and spacious, so you can avoid the fight-over-the-rack that can happen at similar boutiques. I thought the selection was a shockingly good range of prices and had a great assortment. A few items actually surprised me at their price-- I think the store has a really keen eye and doesn't stock clothes that are cheaper, just those that are awesome and happen to be less expensive. Super nice manager, Kara. I'm visiting Charlottesville and she gave me an awesome perspective on what it's like to live here but did not at all make me feel pressured to purchase. Selection included some French Connection, seven jeans, Hudson jeans, Paige jeans, and a ton of gorgeous brands that I had never heard of. That's what cool about this place: I knew it was curated and unlikely that someone else would have the exact same outfit. They also have a small shoe section but I steered away- too dangerous. I have been buying secondhand clothing and locally-made vendor goods from Darling x Dashing for a…read morefew years now (and consigning my own clothes just to end up buying more than I brought in ), and I have also hosted multiple "sip and shop" pop-ups as a representative for a nearby winery. It's an adorable shop run by an amazing group of incredible, caring people who put a great deal of time and effort into curating a welcoming environment for people from all walks of life. They are very selective about the items that they agree to consign, so shoppers have a ton of high-quality, in-style options to choose from. It's honestly dangerous to go in there because there is always something cute that I MUST have; however, if you have a clothing problem like I do, when you're not buying new, you can at least shop with a clean conscience! On the other end, the consignment process is simple, clear, and quick, and you are reasonably compensated when your items sell, especially if you opt for store credit payout. The dressing rooms are honestly my favorite part. When you walk in, you're greeted by hundreds of sticky notes with positive affirmations posted by other shoppers. It's like the positivity and immediate camaraderie you find in the womens' restroom at a club (but without all of the bottom-shelf liquor). Shop small, and shop secondhand!
