But, a very close second is cake. This may come as a surprise if you know my upbringing, which was mostly cobblers and pies. I just love the layers, the textures, the beauty in presentation. And at the top of these are lemon and strawberry centric cakes. Fold in it being my birthday (lazy pun intended) and you have a recipe for a great experience (pun #2). My doorbell rang. I checked the video and there was stood someone with a brown and blue paper bag. What could this be? They handed me the bag and I immediately began to smile, having seen the logo. But my happiness grew as I reached inside and pulled out a trio of lemon cakes! I had to at least try one (it was my birthday after all). A sample began the first cake. A few hours later, the second had disappeared. I did manage some restraint and saved the third for the next morning. Moist, flavorful, the perfect shade of yellow. And with a bow on the container. No better gift this year! Might have to stop in and pick up a few for others...or just for myself. I recommend you do as well.

I stopped in today because I recently purchased food from this location and genuinely enjoyed it. I…read morehad the pasta salad and thought it was good, which is why I fully intended to return and continue supporting this business. Unfortunately, today's interaction completely changed that. When we walked in, I was greeted and I returned the greeting. The employee then made a passive aggressive comment implying that no one had spoken, so I clarified that I had said hello. The exchange immediately felt uncomfortable, unnecessary, and unwelcoming. I found it very off putting that the focus appeared to be on whether a customer spoke loudly or enthusiastically enough rather than simply providing a pleasant and respectful experience. The employee has no way of knowing what customers may be dealing with in their personal lives. Because of this interaction, my husband and I chose to leave immediately. For context, during my previous visit I spent around $60 on several items, so this feedback is not coming from a lack of interest in supporting the business. It's genuinely unfortunate to leave a review like this, as the product itself was good. However, customer service matters just as much as the food, and because of this experience, we will not continue to support this business.
