The place itself is beautiful and usually buzzing, but even though it was busy, we were seated right away. I actually love their system: you get assigned a table, look over the menu, order and pay at the register, and then they bring everything out to you. It's efficient without feeling rushed, and once you're done, you can just head out. We ordered a honey latte (so good) and a shake, plus two sweet treats and a breakfast croissant to share. I had the breakfast sandwich and asked for smoked salmon instead of turkey bacon, and they didn't replace it but gave me salmon on the sided i also ordered an iced strawberry matcha which was really good. This French Mediterranean café is super cute -- bright, cozy, and full of charming bistro vibes that make you want to stay awhile. We had the Braised Short Rib Pappardelle, and it was delicious. This cafe is very cute and I highly recommend it for a nice brunch out with the girlies; however, parking is insane and a bit confusing when all the spots out front are taken (which is common during the weekend at peak hours). The confusing part is that the parking spots in the parking garage (located behind the store) seem to all be reserved and it's not until then third floor when public spots become available. Still, the cafe has a great vibe and servers were very amicable. It is a bit difficult to find seating during peak hours but that is not uncommon for brunch places. The aroma of the baking croissants every morning has been driving me crazy, and I finally took the plunge and walked in. Very cute Parisian style cafe with light and airy decor. They have a beautiful display of their pastries which look absolutely immaculate. They also have their whole loaves of bread displayed which they can slice for you. The girl at the cashier was really pleasant and sweet. I ordered a plain croissant and a chocolate croissant to go. The plain croissant was flaky and buttery perfection. I've walked by this place probably a dozen times, mainly because my go-to deli is nearby, but I decided today would be the day. I caught the tail end of the lunch crowd, and it was busy. The restaurant is bright and has a comfortable feel. I bet it smells wonderful at 5a.m., when they start baking their breads and sweets. I ordered the SWEET POTATO SOUP and an HERBS & CHEESE OMELETTE SANDWICH. I had my choice of bread, and the Focaccia was recommended. I added smoked salmon for an additional $5.00. I also had a Latte with almond milk. Unfortunately, my meal wasn't great. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good. The soup was more like mashed sweet potatoes, and the Focaccia was flavorless and toasted so hard, I chose to just eat the eggs and tomatoes, separately. I didn't taste any herbs nor did I taste any cheese. This is one of those places where it's hard to rate service because you stand in line to order, pay, get a number, and your meal is brought to you. One thing that turned me off was the small flies hovering over the baked goods and I was tormented by a large, black house fly. I believe the breads and sweets are probably what most people order. If there were refills, I would have ordered dessert. My potatoes had some cold spots. One of the trees had some gnats. That said, the short rib challah sandwich was excellent. It was prepared well and was delicious. The people working were hustling and stayed busy. The manager was quick to investigate the gnats, and a lady who worked there checked on me & listened to me gripe about the no refills. She was very kind. The ambiance was clean and bright. I went in specifically for a treat and ordered their carrot cake alongside a cappuccino. I'm so glad I did--the carrot cake was delicious and, thankfully, not overly sweet like it can be at other places. I had high expectations for Madame Olivia but it didn't do it for me. Let's start with what they really excel at, decoration and ambiance. The place is beautiful, new, nice fixtures and with abundance of light. However, quality is not there, at least that was my experience. I had their sunny breakfast which consists of a small salad, bacon, fried eggs and bread. It was alright nothing it would blow your mind. The bread arrived after I had already finished. Although, the bacon was pretty good, that was my favorite part of that dish. The shakshuka, a simple dish, nothing complicated, was not good at all. It was watery and lacking spices. I make better shakshuka at home. The coffee was 3 out of 5. It was weak and the coffee and milk were kind of separated. This is not how it is supposed to be. And $6.50 for a flat white and/or a latte is excessive, specially when quality is not there. I wanted to try their cheesecake, it looked good but after my experience with the food and coffee and didn't want to gamble on it. I might come back for the cheese cake and see if looks match the quality this time. read more

Updated Review (5 Days After My Last Visit) I returned to this bistro today around 1:15 pm on a busy Sunday. Every table was taken, but we were seated in about five minutes. Despite the full house, the atmosphere was very comfortable with great ambiance--not too loud, and we felt perfectly at ease. Our experience was fantastic. We had the pappardelle with short ribs--rich, flavorful, and delicious. The Olivia house salad was phenomenal, and the ciabatta sandwich with egg, herbs, cornichon, and tomato was excellent. The fresh-squeezed orange juice was vibrant and full of flavor. Even with a packed dining room, the food came out swiftly and everything was prepared beautifully. Mathieu, the manager, greeted us warmly at the door. Nico at the counter is always a gentleman--knowledgeable, friendly, and spot-on with his suggestions. Highly recommend this place. Ambiance is your new typical "Pura Vida-like" modern but sensing a casual cafe with a euro-flare. Not the most comfortable chairs but it's clean and spacious. Unfortunately the food did not sit well with me, since I had a pretty bad tummy ache soon after. Perhaps the mix of it all.
