This popular coffee shop in North Miami is known for its house roasted coffee. They also have a shop in Fairbanks, Alaska. They also offer a variety of food including; sandwiches, pizzas and baked goods. They have a range of coffee options including; daily brews, French press, cold brew, teas, smoothies and specialty drinks. They also offer vegetarian, vegan and gluten free items. A drive through is also available. The atmosphere is charming and inviting. I ordered a couple Almond Croissant $5.75 to go. It was tasty and had a nice crème inside but it was more like a donut than a croissant.

I've suggested group runs in North Miami on weekend mornings pretty much for the purpose of coming here to Alaska Coffee Roasting afterwards. The clean, warm decor, the frosty AC, the smell of different roasted coffees, the quick counter ordering and the anticipation of freshly made breakfast and lunch dishes---all make a post run visit here wonderful. They have a water dispenser with cups to serve yourself water while you wait for your food and so on your coffee. Speaking of which, there are so many options it's dizzying, because you can choose your fancy drinks hot or iced and also choose the roast you want. I usually go for the coffee of the day which is a hot cup for $2.50. It is a cup of smooth coffee made with ever changing beans. My cups when I have gone have been Nicaraguan and Ethiopian roasts. They have milk in creamer pitchers at the water dispenser counter along with the sugars and napkins to serve yourself. You pick up your food order when it is brought out from the kitchen you can glimpse and your name is called. The utensils are at the side of the pickup counter. This means that the dining experience is completely self serve from the time you place your order. I love this setup because it makes the place so relaxed, to the point that you forget you're freezing inside because all that sweat you expelled earlier is frosting up. I've gotten the loaded hash browns a couple times because they live up to the name and load me up! Sautéed vegetables, bacon bits and plenty of melted cheddar on top of crispy shredded potatoes make for a magical post run breakfast. My friends like their wings, particularly the coffee buffalo sauce, and I've been able to get it on the side. It's tangy, slightly rich and smooth despite the coffee grounds that are mixed in. One day, I'll get the wings with that sauce! The lovely owner Karen took some time to talk to us the first time we visited as a group. Her brother opened a coffee shop in Alaska, sourcing coffee from around the work. She wanted to have a coffee shop here in South Florida, hence the name. She has way more food options, according to her. We're lucky to have her here!

"I'd like to speak to the manager"...because the breakfast sandwiches are delicious. Yes, they actually have a very delicious sandwich called "The Karen" which I ordered because of the name and meme. I met up with some fellow foodie runners at Alaska Coffee Roasting after our Saturday run in the FIU North Campus. Although it has an outdoor dining area, the drizzle and needing to cool down after running, we decided to eat inside. We placed our order at the counter, and were called when it's ready. Since I wanted to save my calories for a dessert, I started with a regular black Americano coffee without sugar or creme. The aforementioned sandwich is essentially a caprese salad with a slice of creamy mozzarella, fresh greens, tomato on a fluffy croissant. Being a "Kevin" I requested to add grilled chicken on mine. Dessert was a stack of about 4 fluffy blueberry pancakes occupying maximum plate real estate. Garnished with a sprinkle of fresh blueberries and syrup, they were large & yummy enough that I took for breakfast the next day (or I would have to run another lap).

I came back the second times and tried out all new items. This place is a solid 5-star. Breakfast pizza is delicious. Banana bread is a must try

I was in need of a caffeine refreshment boost while in North Miami. I prefer supporting independent coffee shops and was delighted to find a bit of Alaska in Miami in the Shoppes of Arch Creek. Alaska Roasting Company was founded in 1993 in Fairbanks Alaska by Michael Gesser. This coffeehouse is known for finishing its own fresh beans in a Sivitz small-batch roaster. This location in North Miami is only the second to open. Coffee beans from Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Sumatra, and Nicaragua are hand-selected and roasted on site. Gesser calls his coffee "the wine of the tropics." In 2022 the Miami New Times included it on the list of The Ten Best Coffeehouses in Miami and in 2023 Restaurant Guru declared it Best Coffeehouse in North Miami. Parking is plentiful out front. Inside I was surprised to see this coffee shop was more spacious than I had guessed from the outside. There were numerous tables for people to eat and work at along with charging stations. There is also a really nice outdoor patio on the side if you would prefer to enjoy the outdoors. The menu is vast offering both breakfast and lunch. You can choose from sandwiches, wraps, salads, and pastries along with a myriad of coffee and tea drinks. They even have their own pizza oven. I ordered an iced mocha latte and a cannoli. The latte was rich and flavorful, a 10/10. It was the perfect pick me up. Roasting your own beans in house makes the different. The cannoli was okay. I ordered it knowing that unless you get it at an Italian bakery where they pipe it fresh in front of you, you are never going to get a superior one. The shell was soggy as to be expected when they sit too long. In any case this coffee house is a true gem in North Miami.

Amazing service, even better food! No frills coffee shop, went for the first time with a group of ladies after a run. I was a little overwhelmed by all of the options in a good way because everything looked so good. You have a full menu of cooked to order items as well as a case of baked goods that rotates. My order, matcha latte with cookie butter syrup, plus a pressed ham egg and cheese croissant sandwich. I have also been since then and ordered the breakfast pizza with an empanada and coffee cake. You can't go wrong here. The owner is such a sweet person, her dedication to the craft really shows.

I couldn't help myself, I had to make another review. In only such a short period of time, I have become a regular here. It's my favorite chill spot to go wind down, catch up on my show, do my bible study, plan out my week and even do my budget planning. The atmosphere is so relaxing and I can calm my mind after coming from a busy and hectic day with work and life. I recently tried the espresso wings, green goddess pizza, and a coffee with their new toasted almond mocha flavor over a span of different visits. Needless to say, everything gets a 10 10 10 across the board!!! I will be back again with more reviews and to shout out my favorite barista in there! I keep forgetting to jot down her name. xoxo

Love coming here to read my book or write in my journal with a delicious ice cold brew. They also have pastries and snacking wood oven pizza and more! Love the ambiance and the space is spacious for seating. They have a cute outdoor patio to sit when the weather is perfect! The staff are friendly! Great place in north Miami!

I recently visited Alaska Cafe for the first time after hearing great things from friends. They offer a wide range of options for breakfast and lunch. I tried the matcha latte, and it was delightful! The croissant sandwich was a real treat for my taste buds. I truly love the cozy atmosphere of this cafe. They did take long to bring out the food but it did not hinder from the experience. Everyone that works is was super friendly and I will definitely recommend this place to everyone. Oh, almost forgot the key lime pie is to die for.

The turn in is a bit awkward, but there parking lot was pretty much empty at that time (and completely full by the time we left). I do not have a large car and the spots are super narrow. If you drive a truck, I would not try to park in the inner lot in front of the entrance. The place is clearly LGBT friendly; kudos for the pride flags out front. I immediately felt like I was walking into a hipster cafe in Cali. You order and pay inside; get a table number and the bring your food and drinks out to you. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I got the secret pita and golden latte. Service was relatively quick. Drink came then food shortly after. I totally wasn't thinking when I got the golden latte. It was a bit warm outside for a hot latte but I wanted to try something unique. Hard to describe but I enjoyed it. It came with granola on the dish. Not sure if you are supposed to throw it in. The squirrels and birds ended up eating mine. Yes, there was a lot of wildlife that was not shy. The squirrel was literally eating out of my hand and would have sat on our table if my friend allowed it. The bird flew in and did just that though. Came back for seconds a few times. Then as the place got busier, they must have gone off to bother others. As an animal lover, this was a fun perk but may be a turn off to some. The presentation for the pita was unexpected. I had to open a the box to get to my meal. You can choose how the egg is cooked. I went with the default sunny side up. The chorizo hit. Hummus was ok. Kind of bland. I didn't care for olives and picked the fruit off my dessert pita. Felt like I had enough pita carbs by the time I got to it. The ambiance was mostly peaceful. They do play music which was on the border of getting too loud. Coffee was pricy but all coffee is now. The food was also on the high end. This would be a major factor on whether to come back. I don't recall anything unique on the menu aside from the pita. The menu appears to change seasonally though.

For a bar-style environment, the food is consistently very good. Not just "good for a bar" ... like its actually good. The burger is a must (im pescatarian but my friend said it was delicious!) and their Eggs Benedict at brunch is easily one of my favorites in the area. Pair it with a Bloody Mary and you're set. their happy hour pricing is refreshingly reasonable, which is rare around here. I was talking to one of the bartenders and found out even their bread is made in-house. That kind of consistency and care, especially at these price points, is not easy to maintain and you can feel it in the food. The side of sweet potatoes was yummy and I didn't even need to use the sauce that was served along with it. The Philly with fries was a large portion and the fries were delicious. There is a parking lot in the back but looks limited.

The beet multivitamin juice was especially impressive, amazing taste and only $8. The French toast was excellent as well. Overall, our group left very happy with this place. I definitely recommend it if you're looking to switch up your breakfast routine. Thanks!

Super disappointed with this place…read more Pros: The potatoes and eggs were good & the hot sauce has great flavor! Cons: First thing I did was use the restroom which had a horrible smell and the toilet needed cleaning. The service was good at first then fell off after we ordered our food- which was strange because it was not busy at all. We ordered the screwdriver & peach Bellini to drink. Steak & eggs and the Untoasted breakfast + side of ham. The screwdriver had an odd taste & the ham was extremely soft/squishy/seemed uncooked internally. The steak was not cooked well- but acceptable enough to eat. Our server never checked on us after we got our food which sucks because we needed a few things. A different server ended up walking by much later and asked if we needed help which is when I told her I'd like to send back the ham and screwdriver- both of which I barely took a bite/sip out of. I just told her I didn't like them and she got a bit of an attitude and wanted specifics as to why I didn't like it. I just reiterated i didn't like it and won't be consuming either so please take it back. We finished our food and no one ever came to our table again- while the workers were walking around helping the 5 other tables or talking amongst themselves. After sitting for 15+ minutes with our finished food, I just went to the front and waited for someone to check us out. I don't recommend this place and will not be back.

They are located in a beautiful spot with trees and foliage with outside dining as well as indoor. It was a nice sunny day to make the experience even more enjoyable! The vibe was very Miami. I ordered their Avocado Toast with a Sunnyside up egg. It was delicious. I especially loved the multi-grain bread with the crusty edge. My daughter ordered the Breakfast Croissant with eggs, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and aioli, which was also delicious! We both ordered the hot Mocha latte, which gave us the energy we needed! Our server, Kayla, was great and took good care of us! She was friendly and helpful and stopped by several times to fill our water glasses and check if we needed anything else. The young man who made our lattes was also very nice. Next time we will try the outdoor seating, which looked very appealing and was laid out very nicely among the greenery. The tables had umbrellas to protect against the sun. Crema is dog friendly also. Parking was in the back area on the street. Free parking. The sidewalks and walking paths to Crema are nicely paved. Wheelchair accessible.

The open faced breakfast sandwich and egg sandwich were delicious. Definitely asked for an extra side of aioli. Pancakes were definitely the start of the show. Crispy edges and fluffy. I would ask for the receipt next time bc I've noticed each time I say yes to dining in the price goes up and the tip option still appears. I also think I saw a Miami tourist tax? While she was ringing us up.
