So I will try to be as fair as possible w/this review. I was actually going to pick up some items at Milam's but decided for some bakery goods instead for our boat day! Place is cute... quaint & cozy spot to grab a good coffee & read a few pages from your current book! Staff was 50/50 = some were moving fast, prepping orders, restocking while others seem to stay in their lane & not leverage their support to move the patron's orders along... my order, while larger than the 2 customer's behind me had a coffee item. I had ordered 3 croissants & 4 other bite sized items. I managed to get that box first then my coffee. While the 2 behind me got their coffee & went on their merry way. I wasn't too happy that my order for the coffee wasn't a part of the prepped items at the coffee station. Had to wait a little longer for that to be served - 4 extra minutes to be exact. I would have expected my coffee before the boxed pastries. Now for the croissants themselves - I was a bit taken back that they were $9.00. Places like La Boulangerie or Maman has them for $5.00 (plain) to $7.50 (filled). I'm pretty familiar with many others within that same price range. Therefore $9 was a huge hike in pricing. Nonetheless I ordered 3 & they were fresh, delicious & probably worthy of repeating. But only if I want to indulge in the price of said item. Total for my order which included (3) croissants, (5) medialunas & (1) cafe con leche came out to $52 - I included a 15% tip in error because my mind was really processing the prices. read more

Went to this place today and ordered a ham and cheese croissant, beef empanada, and a dessert pastry. Then tried to get an orange juice and it was $9 so I said no. After I sat down the lady came up to me and said they were out of empanadas even though there were around 10-15 when I got there. They had given them to the lady behind me and said they couldn't give one to me. The lady behind me got all 15 empanadas and there wasn't even one they could give to me. The cigarette croissant is chocolaty without being overly sweet. It's denser but not dry. Perfect for sharing. Paired well with the cappuccino we had. the foam on the cappuccino was delish...stayed foamy all the way to my last sip. We also tried thier empanada. It's baked not fried. The beef had a mild spice or herb to it. The crust is thin. The cheese/tomato empanada is like a margarita pizza. Server was friendly and helpful. We were able to sit out with our dog. This place was great!!! I got the ham and cheese croissant and it was buttery and flaky; delish!!! The cigarette croissant was huge and simply amazing. Chocolatey and amazing. Not overly sweet but perfect to share. Would almost be too much by yourself. It paired well with the cappuccino. So good and foamy and they foam stayed all the way from the first sip to the last!! We also tried the beef empanada and the tomato and cheese! Both were delicious. I forgot to take a picture of them but one of the top tasting empanadas I've had!! Try this place. Such a great bakery in Sunny Isles! We stopped a few weeks ago to check it out and got one of their flans and loved it. Stopped by again today and got another flan plus chocolate croissants and the ham and cheese croissant. The service received is excellent at this home-feel Argentinian bakery off Collins Ave in Sunny Isles Beach. They are tucked away in a busy shopping plaza across from the beach but there is ample parking available. This is a bakery where you can grab a free newspaper and enjoy your breakfast or a pastry with coffee before heading out on the ocean. I noticed this place when doing some other staff on the plaza, so decided to stop by for coffee. Very casual place. Couple tables outside, couple inside. Coffee was different. Not sure whether I like it or not. I took a pastry, it was tasty. What I didn't like is complete disorganization. It is not busy, so why did it take me 15 min to get coffee. And 5 of those I spent trying to pay, because every second the lady was getting distracted. I know when it is busy and when it is a mess. And it was it. It took far too long for anyone to clear the table from the previous guests, we were served our food and drinks on a table still cluttered with their dirty plates and mugs. On top of that, the restroom was out of order, which seems unbelievable for a fully operating restaurant. There is a great variety of desserts to try, coffees, etc. The owner offered us some free cinnamon roll samples, one of which had chocolate. He asked us about what we thought and it was truly delish! The ham and cheese croissants arrived quickly and they looked really good. They had a sprinkling of sugar on top which added a nice touch. The only thing I didn't like about it was the ham was ice cold yet the cheese was somehow somewhat melted. I don't think they have the execution worked out. The coffee arrived several minutes after my sandwiches. The coffee was great! I also thought the desert cases were somewhat empty. They didn't have a very big selection. In one bite I knew the flavor was off, then realized it tasted kind of like soap or some sort of cleaning product, It tasted a couple of days old too. Everything else that I bought tasted fine. During the lock down I popped into this place to get some delicious empanadas, but unfortunately for me I wasn't given the empanadas that I have grown to love, instead I was given somewhat tough & dry empanandas. Due to the small business suffering of the lock down I decided not to write any negative reviews for businesses, irregardless of my experience. Well we're no longer in the lock down, so I am no longer bonded to my word. I went by today and ordered three empanadas, spinach, chicken, and onion & cheese. The spinach was the only one edible, but after eating it, my throat became agitated. The onion and cheese was as hard as a rock, I couldn't even bite through it without scraping my gums. The chicken was the special case, I took one bight then the aroma of sewage hit my nose. I've never encountered anything like this, how could cooked food, worse a pastry smell like animal droppings. I don't know if they have new owners or what the case may be, but this place fell off a cliff. Update: I've been in the throne room all day. read more

This coffee shop is truly amazing! You literally can have anything here and you will never be disappointed. The caramel iced lattes are phenomenal (even the decaffeinated ones). They make these little breads called "media lunas" that are so soft and sweet on the inside but lightly crispy on the outside. Honestly, heavenly! Aside from the great coffee and food, in my opinion what makes this place truly special is that it's a owned and ran by an amazing immigrant living out the American dream. They arrived here from their home country a couple years ago escaping a tyrannical government and with A LOT of hard work and a bit of luck they are currently proud owners of this place. The father, mother, and lovely daughters do a wonderful job at running this business and it's obvious they absolutely love what they do. Please don't miss out of visiting this little coffee shop.
