This is a very small place on a corner. They have 4 tables, not the cleanest looking place but not bad. There was one guy working the restaurant. He was the waiter, cook and bus boy. They have a nice variety of home made empanadas that are good and very full with the meat or cheese that you ask for. We ordered a Milanesa that was good and huge. Two of us shared the plate and we had plenty to take leftover home. I would tell them to change the frying oil more often as we could taste the old oil in the food. I wanted to try their sandwiches the other day. When I walked in, they only had empanadas and some pastries. The lady at the counter said that their kitchen was closed. So, you could only get what they had in the glass case. Since I wanted to have miga, I left without trying their food. But I hope to come back and try their food when their kitchen is open. Great cafe for great coffee and homemade pastries! Place is easy to find with its own parking lot. I was looking for an afternoon pick me up. I was greeted with a smile when I walked in and was given great, friendly customer service from the time I walked in until the time I left. I ordered a latte and a medialuna and both were delicious. Yummmm....I was pleasantly surprised to find las medialunas de abuelo by accident whilst looking for a quick bite on 163rd st. We ordered the ham and cheese croissant made with imported ham and high quality Swiss, with a large side of love. It was sweet salty fluffy and very delicious. The beef empanadas were fresh out if the oven and the pastries with dulce de leche and guava were perfection. I ordered a large chocolate and dulce de leche cake to go for a party, which I can tell will be the star. I also picked up two slices of balcarce (merengue and dulce de leche fruit cake) which were moist and fresh. Oh, btw, they also carry sandwiches de miga which is how I initially found them on Yelp...sooo good. I highly recommend and will be back to try more and have cafe too. read more
