Not as great a venue as the old croc IMO, but good sound, and good bar. Haven't been to the new croc yet.

Our friends are in town to embark on an Alaskan cruise and we wanted to give them a little taste of the jazz scene in Seattle. So, on a Wednesday, what act would be touring at Jazz Alley? None other than, Greg Adams & East Bay Soul. Greg Adams is a former Tower of Power alum (founding member), and his East Bay Soul ensemble brought the funk, soul, and jazz for almost two hours! Members include: Greg Adams (trumpet, flugelhorn, and background vocals), Terrell Edwards (lead vocals), Michael Stever (trumpet, flugelhorn), Johnnie Bamont (alto, tenor and baritone saxes, flute, and background vocals), Ed Wynne (alto, tenor sax, flute and background vocals), Nick Milo (keys), Richards Smith (guitar), Del Atkins (bass), Herman Matthews (drums), and special guest vocalist, Darelle Holden (who is from the Seattle area and performs with local band, Nearly Dan). Folks, the East Bay Soul had the joint rocking. Of course the musicians were solid, the drummer (Herman Matthews) played the entire set, the bassist, Del Atkins kept it funky all evening, the sax players were on point, as were Milo on keyboards, Stever on brass, and Smith on guitar. Greg Adams on brass pulls it all together! On this night it was the vocals Terrell Edwards and Darelle Holden (Nearly Dan) that electrified many in attendance. Edwards soulful style and Holden's sultry style kept those in attendance captivated. But, the band kept it funky, soulful, and jazzed up all night! We began dinner with a couple orders of the Calamari appetizer which included lemon aioli and spicy red chili oil. Next up were our entrees, a couple orders of the Linguini Del Mar which inclused a seafood ensemble of sea scallops, white gulf prawns, Alaskan Coho salmon, and fresh clams sautéed in a garlic, white wine, lemon butter sauce with a little cream, served over a bed of linguini pasta and topped with freshly grated Parmigiano Grana. The group loved this dish! It was well seasoned and the seafood fresh and succulent. Another dish ordered was the gluten free Vegetable Lasagna pasta with eggplant, spinach, mushrooms, basil, ricotta, parmesan and mozzarella, served on San Marzano tomato sauce and topped with pesto. This dish is not overrated! Our libations for the evening included old fashioneds, white and red wine. Nice meal, great show!!

The burger itself was well seasoned and I thought the grilled onions were a great touch. I found that the esquite was especially flavorful given that it's made with chicken broth. I think it would be even better served with something that can be used to dip in the broth. Maybe even the fries? The quesabirria was piping hot, crispy and comes with beef consommé.

What I enjoyed off the bat was that even though I didn't have cash to pay the cover I was able to get in using one of their payment offerings that linked my bank. I even got a little cash back from doing this. There is Dance floor right passed walking in and another downstairs. Before going downstairs there is a 'theatre'. The Drag show was entertaining, but the acts ranged from really amateur to a few seasoned "queens". There were some cool people who I chatted with a cool couple who wanted to also get their goth vibes on and drove down from I believe Everett. The bar, even though busy had a cool bartender who made good drinks, and the prices weren't bad. I bought rounds for my friends and myself through the night and paid less than $50 so I was really surprised. Chill vibes here. Would go to another event here.

The staff was very courteous and helpful. When you enter the dome is really cool, you can lay down or sit on chairs. We laid down but by the thirty minute mark your body starts to ache a little. Also the show was not directly overhead rather slightly forward facing (most of the time) so you should think about bringing a pillow! Right when the show started the lasers were pretty sub par, but by the middle they added more lasers from different directions and smoke which really elevated the visuals to the next step. The music started off wayyy too loud, my ears adjusted over time but afterwards it was hard to hear ppl next to me. There's really no need for it to be that loud when we're so close to the speakers and we're not competing with audience cheers. Was a fun hour spent! But I think there is much more room for improvement.

There's were not a ton of people at my show, most of us were leaned back and relaxed on seats though halfway through the show a few people went to lie on the ground under the dome. Loved the song choices of the DJ, and the accompanying lasers were really fun! And for the price, it's overall a great way to spend an evening!

The bartender said Screwdriver Bar. I looked it up, closed my tab, and walked over to Screwdriver Bar which was a short walk back to my hotel. Score! First off don't get confused. There is one (1) door attendant possibly for two venues?! I want to say there was a venue on top of this bar. Either way I saw Screwdriver Bar was downstairs so be sure you kinda know where you are going. Screwdriver Bar is (seemingly) free from a cover. I walked down the steps and entered a whole world of vinyl records, throw back artwork and memorabilia that filled the very top of the ceiling all the way down to the tables and floor. This spot made me feel welcomed right off the bat with laughter, people dancing, and a busy bar staff serving up all the drinks from tallboys to fancy hand shaken cocktails. I really enjoyed my time here when I visited. On the menu I thought I saw a dumpling type of food situation going on. I know I smelled good warm food smells but I did not have a chance to order anything (I ate somewhere else). Mostly locals here which made me feel good as the recommendation was spot on and the others here were all having a great time which was the vibe I needed during my stay in Belltown.
