You can choose from a variety of fishes as well. They were pretty fresh and yummy. The guy working there was really nice. He had a lot of advice and suggestions. But the lunch omakase special is what I really wanted I think. But even so. The poke bowl was mixed. I have to unfortunately knock off the stars/taste because the rice I got was literally the worst rice I've ever had touching raw fish. The rice was like hard and stale. I even had a clump that looked like it was the burnt part from leaving it on the cooker for too long and it couldn't bite it. I know this place is for the fish, but there's a bare minimum expectation on rice quality. And the fish itself was good? Maybe cuz it's the poke and not the omakase (so mixed chopped pieces) but there were pieces that tasted super fresh and delicious and then there were pieces that had so much tendon I couldn't bite through it. The folks there were super nice and friendly especially since I had no idea what to order. Just wish I was more delighted by the meal, especially cuz it was like $18 poke bowl. I'll give it another try with hopes it's better next time.

In short We haven't had this kind of shopping around here,…read morelet alone focused in one store. This is where you get the super-nice meat and fish that supermarkets and big-box stores don't have. And their house-made fish dips are amazing. In long It's a little strip mall by the Speedway that would be kinda sleepy except for the drive-through coffee line constantly forming around the whole building. E&O have the end unit. You walk in to a shelf full of solid-value wines, mostly local, aimed to pair with whatever you might take home with you to cook. The ceilings are high, and the walls and floors are all spotless white. No decorations, very little merchandising, if any. There's a long butcher case on the left full of all kinds of crazy treats. Prawns the size of bratwursts. Steaks, roasts, different fish. They skip most of the stuff that supermarkets carry and focus only on more-specialty stuff. Their stock is either a nicer version or it's something that's unavailable elsewhere. You do pay for quality like this on some of the stuff, but if you're cooking a meal you're really looking forward to, the value makes it reasonable. Not everything is expensive, either. They had fresh lemons on the case for 40% less than the supermarket up the street. They had reds, whites, bubblies, and pinks in the wine section with every bottle under $20. And those fish dips, man. I'm surprised they don't sell out by afternoon every day. We had wild salmon and black cod dips before dinner last night, and both were fantastic. They're very well balanced, so maybe you could add hot sauce or fresh herbs to taste, but we've had them several times and never felt compelled to tune them up. The dudes behind the butcher case have decades of industry experience, and they couldn't be nicer, more patient, or more helpful. I love shopping here.

She said the best sellers were the crab and lobster rolls, but her favorite was the spicy shrimp. She lit up when I said that sounds great. And she was right. She brought it out while I was viewing the yummy pickled offerings and checking out all the other store goodies in this quaint country store. She was proud of it and even opened it to show me. I couldn't resist adding an extra half pound of the ahi poke. I returned to my truck and knew I had to get after the sandwich before getting on the road so there I went. I am a road warrior for work and get into my fair share of sandwiches during a work week. So worth the stop. It was perfect and came with a side of potato salad which didn't disappoint either. Definitely top sandwich I've had this year. The poke was on point and instantly reminded me of being in Hawaii getting my poke to go out of the deli at Foodland. I had to run back in after and tell her thank you for the recommendation and got a high five and a big smile. Go visit. Ask for Hailey. Get the spicy shrimp and poke. You'll be super happy you did.

Sadly, they no longer offer ice cream cones (just ice cream in pints and quarts) - they explained to me that they were overwhelmed by people who just wanted ice cream, and that it made it hard to sell fish. I ordered a cold sandwich, The Eagle. I almost ordered the Sammy pastrami for a hot sandwich as recommended by the woman taking my order. The eagle is fantastic! It's on a sourdough bread with a cranberry sauce and sliced turkey deli meat. The cranberry sauce is a cream base and is extremely tasty without being too powerful. I added on bacon and Dijon mustard along with dill pickles. The turkey is perfect and juicy. I was afraid it would be dry, but nope, they know what they're doing here. All the flavors go really well together, even when I added on. And the bread is moist, it didn't quite taste like a sourdough, maybe it was a little bit more of a white bread, sourdough, but it was really good. If my sandwich is this good, I can only imagine how good the recommended sandwich is! The lady who took my order was nice and patient with me and I appreciate that. And she remembered who I was so when she called my sandwich, she basically tossed it at me! In a good way. Only negative thing I can say is the Line situation was a little confusing, but that's really more about the patrons waiting to order or not order or just make up their mind. Walking around the market, they have a lot of options for local snacks and beverages, especially beer. I highly recommend stopping in.!
