Macy's, Macy's, Macy's, how does this happen? So last weekend, the Mrs and I headed out to Tyson's corner to meet friends at Founding Farmers for dinner. (See review for Founding Farmers) Since we arrived a couple of hours early, we decided to hit Macy's. All in all, it was a good experience. The store was busy but in order so finding what I was looking for was not difficult. What sparked this review is two days later I headed to the Macy's in Waldorf Maryland only to notice that this store's appeal was less than appealing. So let me paint the picture. It's was the middle of the work day and the store was pretty empty. One of those days where the sales person to customer ratio was seemingly 1:1. There was one glaring difference. This Macy's organization practice was terrible (see pictures). I found myself looking around feeling flabbergasted at the number of unorganized displays. How is it that the Macy's in Tyson's Corner Virginia can remain organized during a busy weekend, meanwhile our only neighborhood upscale department store (Macy's) looks like a low level discount shop. So here's the rub, the merchandise at both locations cost the same. Hmmm.... something feels very wrong about this juxtaposition. These pictures tell the story. I hope Macy's agree that the Waldorf dollar is just as valuable as the the McLean dollar. We think so anyway. read more

I have mixed feelings about this Macy's. I usually come here for shoes. Last time I was here I was helped by a woman who was looking for shoes for me. When looking for the last pair of shoes I was waiting for 20 mins wondering where she was and come to find out she had went on break. The next time I cam back here there was a young lady who was extremely helpful and got me everything I needed. So she turned my experience around. If zero stars were possible, I would leave zero. I purchased a mattress on 8/1 with delivery scheduled on 8/29. On 8/27 and 8/28, I received automated calls indicating delivery was confirmed for 8/29 between 3:30 and 5:30 pm --no further action required on my part. On 8/29, no delivery. I waited until 6 pm to call. It took over an hour to reach a human being in customer service--- sorry, delivery was cancelled. No one bothered to notify me. Additionally, if I still wanted the mattress, it would take another month. No, thank you. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

Shopped in the mens' department tonight at St. Charles and received just flat out CRAPPY customer service from a young fellow named Jamal that said he was the floor manager. Found a jacket that I liked for my son. Looked at the tag and it had a clearance sticker on it but it wasn't his size. So I took the size I wanted and the one that was marked down to the register. When the young lady rang it up, she said the tag was wrong. Having worked for Macy's in the past, I knew they should honor the mistagged price, so I politely asked her to consult a manager. Jamal flounced over and she explained my request. So he rang both jackets, told me "too bad it was mistagged" and proceeded to remove the tag and tell me that I could "purchase it at the regular price, but he wasn't selling it to me for what the tag said." So I went back to the rack where I'd originally found the jacket, fanned through all of them again and found yet another with the same clearance tag and took it back to Jamal. So he crosses his arms, looks at me and says "what?" I said "I beg your pardon?" He says "what's the matter?" So I proceed to show him that there is more than one jacket on the same rack that is tagged at the lower price, so he should honor it and take it up with his mens' department staff. So he the says to the young lady that was initially helping me ... "I just don't know what's wrong with people this year. It's the holiday season and no one is happy. I don't want to frustrate anyone because it's Christmas, so let me just do an override for the lower price." You jerk! It's not my fault that it was not tagged properly. All you had to do to begin with was honor the lower price and we could have been done 10 minutes sooner. But all of the attitude and piss poor customer service just wasn't warranted or necessary. I'll be calling their store manager on Monday because this guy definitely is NOT a Macy's star and does not represent the Macy's brand well as a manager at all! read more

I only frequent two areas ladies and cosmetics. Always helpful in the ladies department, never an issue, love clearance sales and a girl had a 20% coupon, I got 5 dressy work shirts for $42 total yeah baby, I loves me a sale and a clearance rack.....don't hate appreciate and remember a pretty short sleeve shirt becomes a pretty fall shirt with a 6$ knit jacket......... but you need another register open in the ladies section/women's section, we all can't be ganged up at the register by the fancy dresses. But the folks at the register were on point getting the line down kudos to the staff:) My experience today was the bestest (lol). I was looking for some new fragrances and I ONLY like fresh clean scents. Perfume folks all helpful, but the one lady asked me what I normally wear what I like and proceeded to bring me samples of the fragrances she thought would work for me.....other folks did not step up like that. So, I only buy like once a year and I ball on a budget, so if it isn't part of a gift set, so I can get more bang for my buck, it can't come home with me. I ended up with two gift sets love them both. Thank you perfume lady you made my day......and I smelled good before, but now not only do I smell good.....I'm delicious.....can't wait to get my sexy on with the new clothes and fragrance.....well maybe that's a bit much for work....but.......you gotta to take care of you........ Macy's is my go to when I need everything in one place. I love the one located in downtown Washington DC. I think all Macy's should have MAC counter located in the store. My only other request is in the shoe department they never have size 8.5 or 9 I guess that's a popular size for women. They need to get better inventory. read more

I do quite a bit of online shopping at Macy's. My experiences have not been the best. I've received products in beat up or torn boxes, I purchased women's formal wear with stains on it, and shoes that didn't look new. They are good about refunds, but take no care or concern about the products that they deliver to customers. read more

Her name is Ellen Smith and I knew right away that she was the one who could help me....She did everything right and gave me the discount that I was entitled to and I have had her before buying shoes and she is the best and knows how to handle things and makes the customer love her. Whenever I go to Macy's again to purchase shoes, I won't deal with anyone else but Ellen. I asked for her business card so that I could tell you how fantastic she was. The woman that was with me was saying the same thing about Ellen. We walked away very happy. I am a real estate broker and one of the top agent in New England. No one at the lingerie counter for 2-3 mins but a young Macy's boy lingering in Coats watching me look for someone.. Smdh.. Like he is scared of women.. I had to go to Kids Coat where Barbara helped me return items. She told me he worked Coats and Lingerie but young ppl at the store do not like ring up ppl.. She kept having to start over and I'm not sure why..... as a platinum Macy's cardholder, I've never experienced this before and am quite impatient.. definitely the worst experience I've had at any Macy's location since becoming a cardholder. read more

I went into the Macy's home store at st Charles mall for Christmas shopping. I was looking for an air purifier. There were about 20 in different sizes and prices right by the check out counter. The price sign was very confusing. So I went to the counter( no customers in line) just the sales associate (the big African American guy with an Afro) at the counter organizing or cleaning the counter. Not doing anything hard. I asked him can do a price check on one of the purifier. He didn't say a word he just rolled his eyes and made a huffing sound as if I was bothering him by getting a price check. I then said never mind I don't want your help. You have very poor customer service and an attitude for me to just a quick price check. I asked the nice gentleman associate to help me instead. And ring me up. I told the other guy he didn't need to be in customer service if he didn't want to help. I won't go the ever again because of his lack of professionalism. I was so upset that this type of person would be working at this store. I was going to report it to the top managers but I don't have that kind of time to waste on ignorance. I have lived in Waldorf for about 10 years and am not one for going to the mall very often. I can't really say much about the clothing department (I don't normally shop there), but their makeup department is top notch. I went in the other day looking for a specific product at the Mac counter and I was greeted very kindly right away, the product was found, she answered my questions, and even showed me what it would look like on my skin. I wish I would have remembered her name because she treated me very well. She even complimented me as she was working on my face. She did not seem rushed and took her time to make sure she did everything correctly, even if I was just testing a product. I will definitely be going back for any product advice I need. :) read more

This Macy's is pretty much the only thing in the St. Charles mall. That being said, it's horribly disorganized, dirty, and the service is always lacking. It really is the only department store in Southern Maryland that has any sort of selection; however that doesn't make up for the lack of neither service nor the disorganized look to the store. Most of the signs on the fixtures indicating sale prices on merchandise are usually never correct, so even though you found something you liked, once you get to the register it's like a game of Russian roulette. Will it ring up correctly? If they could get their act together, then Macy's Waldorf would really be worth the trip. read more

They are horrible in the fragrance and cosmetic area.I was there last month on Feb.11,2018 all for while I was waiting to get help.The sales associate with blonde hair very tall and skinny named crystal was busy conversating with another customer about unnecessary things.The girl instead of helping me ran off looking for the customer who walked away with $400 in perfume.Where do you do that at? Why is she still there the cosmetic manager told her to leave it alone.I can't leave it alone because she should've don't her job correctly and instead of running her mouth made sure the customer finished the transaction which she didn't. I will never come shop at that Macys in Waldorf after that if you let an employee who didn't do her job right and still is there working how don't you know she won't do it again or has done it before.That area needs new management and employees they are not professional they're always standing there gossiping with another co workers eating on the floor laughing around with the jimmy choo vendors who work there instead of giving the customer service I deserve when I come to shop I sure did go to Marlow Heights.Get yourself together I am reaching out to corporation now.Even security doesn't pay attention to what's going on there. read more
