Literally! MEH. I'VE EXPERIENCED BETTER. I'm not entirely sure why I'm even writing my review on Macy's since it's such a big corporation and I'm not sure if my review or venting will even be heard? But here goes nothing! I get that Christmas time is the "IT" season for large and huge corporations like these to cash in and I usually I'm not the type to hold get angry during the Christmas time (because I mean... it's the most wonderful time of the year!), but some of these workers here sure get my BP up there on the chart. I came into the store one night looking for a specific item. Showed it to the associate on the phone, and she had told me to wait so she can check on it. Then 10 minutes later I see the same associate chatting up another couple check and showing them different option that can be ordered if there are no more stock in the back ? UH.. what was wrong with the picture you might ask ? Well, obviously I don't know if all departments of Macy's work on commission , but I'm assuming this one does because the associate jumped at the chance to grab a BIGGER SALE. After a while I had to go find another person to help me retrieve the item. I paid for it and left and I'm pretty sure the original associate didn't even notice my absent. read more

This location has a pretty small selection (at least for men's). That is the main reason for my 3 star review. My experience with cashiers have been great. There were 2 occasions where the cashiers were able to find a different size for me, so I'm happy. Ehhhhh I don't like this Macy's. They don't have anything in it at all. It seems like they are never stocked with anything. The place is a hot mess as if a tornado has gone thru it and the racks just look bare and messy all the time. The bag Dept is the worst. I went into buy a bag for my mom. The cashier swiped my visa and said it didn't go through so she swiped again. Left the store with my moms bag. Checked my account a little later yup the transaction for $100 plus was pending to Macy's twice. Went back was told one of the transactions would cancel out. Nope ended being charged twice. Called purse dept per idiot manager they only seen charge once... I asked to email him my bank statement showing it paid twice. He said there's nothing they can do its my banks fault so I have to call them. What a hassle their system messed up and I have to go through calling my back setting up a claim. This ghetto ass store won't get my business anymore. Beware when shop there you might get charged twice! read more

I waited over 5 minutes for the girl to ring up the person ahead of me. She had one item to purchase! And then she forgot the security tag so I had to go back. And she still took a long time. Customer service is the worst here. I was standing at the watch department for almost 30 min, all I needed was to adjust the size on a watch I got for Christmas. But I guess no one really cares about customer service. I seen Many employees just standing around chilling, when I asked them for help all they said was. "Oh I don't work there" few mins after I ask. Another employee. And I kept getting the same answers. I don't know what's the deal with customer service now a days. Back in 2005 when I worked at mervyns we never had an issue like that. And if we ever did. We would make the customer appreciated so they always come back with us. My sister and I went to return 2 out of our 3 purchase of perfumes and cologne. My sister forgot to take out the cologne sample that was given to her for her husband. She asked the cashier if she can give it to her. The cashier said "no" because she's returning the cologne. My sister explained to her that the salesman gave her a different sample from the cologne she purchased for her husband to try since they didn't have the brand she wanted to buy. But she still refused to give it. So, my sister and I went upstairs (2nd floor) to the men department and a lady approached us. We told her what just happened and we asked her if she has a sample of the same cologne the lady downstairs who refuses to give back the sample. She said she has no sample of any brand at all. She told us to wait while she goes downstairs to talk to the lady who kept our sample. After 5 minutes she came back and told us that she just sold the items we just returned and gave the sample to the customer. She also said she looked around for any sample but they have none. We didn't believe her one bit. My sister and I went back downstairs and asked for the manager and the lady who helped us who was way nicer than the two by the way, kindly asked us about our complaint before she make a call to the manager. So, we explained to her everything what just happened. She smiled and pulled out two samples of the cologne we wanted and said "is this what you want?" My sister and I were in shock and said to her "we were told you don't have any sample of any brand! The sales lady said "I don't know why she told you that when we have it all." She advises us to make sure to tell the manager exactly what happened in details, so we did. I'll never go back and purchase another item from this store again. read more

I would give this place a 0 and Ive never felt so upset. I went here to look for a dress. I find the quality of the dresses moderate or poor. Not much selection either. When I ask for help some employees seem to be unsure where things are. I asked help from other employees from different floors and nobody wanted to help me. One staff ignored me! I know I wasn't dress well that day because I was running errands everywhere to get my son his passport before our trip. I didn't have time to dress nicer I was already tired like anybody else but I was still a costumer who needed help. I never felt upset like that before. I just wanted some help. I love the beauty dept at Macy's! I'm usually a Mac girl, but recently decided to switch to bare escentuals, I was helped right away by Analisa, she tried out their new compact line which I loved and took her time with showing me how to use the products and chose the best colors for my skin tone! I was very happy with everything she definitely knows her makeup business! Customer service all the way. I was waiting at the perfume counter for over 5 minutes before being helped (the ladies were helping other customers). When someone finally came to help me, she was great. I wish I would have caught her name. I bought 212 from Carolina Herrera. I love the free sample perfumes. This lady said she believed they had some samples that I might enjoy in the back.. She went to the back (wherever that was) and came back with 212 Sexy. It was a pretty good size too. About 10 times bigger than the average sample. I left very happy!! read more

I haven't had any SUPER bad experiences here. I've had some good ones and some okay ones. They don't have a huge selection of makeup here. Off the top of my head, they have MAC, Urban Decay, Stila, Benefit, Bare Escentuals, and probably a few more. I usually come here for MAC because it's the closest one to me. I've had some really nice MUA who helped me and I've had some who completely ignored me therefore I cannot give this place a 5 star. The good and the bad averages out to a 3 I guess. Everytime I come to these makeup counters I always feel obligated to buy something but you shouldn't feel that way! Don't give in no matter how nice they are! The one good thing about Macys is their return policy. I don't know it off the top of my head but I do know that if you're unhappy with the item you can return it. I am not sure about the receipt but as long as it has the return sticker attached to the item it should be fine. I rarely return stuff because I am the type who likes to give things a chance. Even with duplicates I tell myself the second item will be my backup lol. I am just so glad there is a MAC here because I do not feel like going all the way to Oakridge or Valleyfair. They charge you 10 cents for a bag here FYI. Last week I noticed that during my purchase it asked me if I wanted an email receipt, physical receipt or BOTH. I chose BOTH (why not right?) and later realized incase I lose the physical receipt I have the email one if I needed to do a return so I thought that was cool. It also said check here if you want emails from Macys. Forgot if it that automatically checked or you gotta check it yourself. Lastly if you do not find something you want, have no fear, Sephora is upstairs!!! There is a Sephora upstairs inside JCPenny. I ALWAYS forget about that. What I like about Sephora are the samples. Yeah they are pretty generous and nice about giving out samples. The girl at Macys Benefit gave me a sample too though...hmm there's competition right there. Oh but at Sephora you get to accumulate points and redeem them for goodies...hmm. After writing this review I realized I should only come here for MAC and go to Sephora for everything else because you get to accumulate points! read more

Today my mother visited this Macy's. She was looking to buy some stuff as she normally would. Unfortunately she ended up being a victim of racism and unprofessional customer service. As soon as she was ready to pay she headed for the cashier. The cashier and, as my mother was told the price she respectfully reached in her purse looking for her Macy's credit card. While she was looking for her credit card she was told she had to show a California ID in order to complete the purchase. This was very unusual because normally when you would present your Macy's credit card are never asked to show ID. But she respectfully pulled out her ID. She was then rejected by the cashier and told she could not use any other ID, she was pointing at a frame and saying only "CALIFORNIA ID" that she needed to show a sort of California ID, like a drivers license or any TYPE, but mentioning several times the "CALIFORNIA WORD" . This was very concerning since you should be able to show any type of valid ID and be able to proceed with your purchase. You could be using an Arizona ID or a Washington ID, or any other ID to proceed with the check-out. I wondered why it specificity had to be a California ID. My mother felt humiliated because that is clearly an act of racism and disrespect towards my mother. Because she did not wanted to listen to what my mother was trying to explain, she kept on saying "NO CALIFORNIA ID, NO BUYING" In addition it also caused my mother to cry in front of other customers that were in line. In addition to thet she had already hurt my MOTHER'S feelings and caused her to cry in front of other customers, the unprofessional cashier persisted to accuse my grandma of stealing and several times mentioning that "SHE DID NOT HAVE NO MONEY TO PAY". You could only imagine how devastated she was feeling after that. My family in general and I are very upset with Macy's unacceptable actions. We would go to Macy's every so often. It was a well known place within our family, a place where we were treated with respect and exposed to good customer service. This act of disrespect and racism SHOULD NOT BE TOLERATED ANYWHERE. read more

So glad I never really have to come to this location, but this was the only place available for a pickup. Have been in the store for almost 45 mins to try and pick up an online order. It's a pair of earrings, went to the jewelry counter and with no greeting and an attitude was told to go up stairs. Go upstairs wait in a slow and long line. Finally get to the register and then get told I was in the wrong line after I had waited a good 10-15 mins. Finally go to where I'm supposedly supposed to be and the line is twice as long as the last. read more

Shopping here is a drag, especially in the men's department. The sizes on the clothe's hangers don't match the clothing size. There where hangers on the floor everywhere, and I contently stepped on them. There where bags on the floor, and hanger carts in the middle of the aisle. This Macy's is not the best experience. The service was almost non-existent. The check-out process was fine, but asking a question was impossible. I couldn't find a clerk that didn't work in makeup. read more

So this is about a worker. I had to return something that was purchased from the kitchen dept, and the line was way to long so an employee told me I can go down to mens fragrances and return it there, so I did. I went down and I asked the worker, "oh can I return this here?" She quickly said, "no, you need to go back to the dept. where you bought that from." As I was trying to explain to her that another worker said I could come here and return it, she then put her finger in the air as to get me to stop talking and then she said, "I have an actual fragrance customer to get to." Now all she could have said was, "give me just one minute there is a customer ahead of you and ill help you in just a sec" that would have been fine, I would have patiently waited there until she was done. But to be so rude about it and brush me off like that was just rude. I thought Macy's was about providing an OUTSTANDING customer experience. At that point I just wanted to return my item and leave. As I went back up to the kitchen area (dept) and returned my item I asked the woman at the register if it was true that I could only return this where i bought it from and she said no you can return it at any dept. I then told her about what happened with the worker down in fragrances and she apologized about it but at that point, it was already to late. This review is strictly for returns. Now I have worked at Macy's and I can understand if associated say they can't take a return based on how small their area is and with so many returns the counter can get packed and leave little room for customers so they send them to the At Your Service Counter. Now keep in mind as a customer today, I came in at 10am when the doors opened. I had a pair of shoes to return which I know can be returned at the At Your Service counter OR THE SHOE DEPARTMENT. Now seeing as I had a rowdy toddler with me this morning and NO ONE AT YOUR SHOE COUNTER IN LINE. I decided I could jump on get my return done and go. Well the male associate there said All returns are done at the At Your Service counter. Now I know for a fact that AT YOUR SERVICE IS AN OPTION! The shoe counter can still take returns and this pissed me off because there was no line in his department, he was not even busy doing anything and I only had one item to return and he told me I HAVE to go to At Your Service. Now as a former associate I can understand had he had no space or time. But I know the store policy. I know at Your Service is an option not a have to do so. So this review is for that male associate working at 10am today in the shoe department for sending me to At Your Service instead of taking 2 minutes to return my shoes. This is why I rather shop at Oakridge Macy's. Eastridge Macys associates apparently take the policies to no consideration and just say screw the customer. At least Oakridge Macy's take their customers into consideration and even on busy days take 2 minutes to do a quick return. Never going to Macy's Eastridge again.
