I've purchased several items online over the past 1-1/2 years. Less interested in actually going into the store, I've found it so much easier to search for my item, compare prices and purchase it online, and in my own time. First it was the Pandemic, now it just makes sense to me. Picking up curbside is a breeze. Noone will answer the phone at the Lexington store! I have called 3 times and stayed on the phone for over an hour trying the same "instore order" extension. I made an order to be picked up at the store and live an hour away. Order was breakable and review said they would not replace broken items. There were multiple parts to my order all arriving within 10 days total with some arriving on day one. I wanted my total order to be held until the order was complete for pick up. What do you want to bet that they return the first half of my order because I didnt drive an hour to pick up 4 mugs within the first 3 days. read more

I jokingly refer to Macy's as "the mothership," but since I was a freshman in college it has been a staple in my shopping excursions. The deals can't be beat, and I'm a slave to Last Act (any department), especially at the end of a season. Back Stage hasn't been my most favorite, but for home goods and men's casual apparel it's worth a browse whenever I go in. I'm such an evangelist that I had my husband apply for a card and get his wedding suit there last year! I only have two ongoing qualms: the near-constant moving of departments, and the lacking cleanliness - both of which I can mentally set aside. Earlier this week I was pleasantly surprised to stumble upon a new Kentucky section on the second floor, and just a few aisles away, a Toys R Us installation! I'll give it to them, Macy's is trying to innovate and stay afloat, and I'm here to help. Shoutout to Darrell on the third floor in home/bedding - he helped me several times while pregnant and knows that floor inside out! I also want to thank customer service on the first floor for extending me a courtesy gift certificate ($25) after I bought a dress for a wedding last week, and the day of I went to put it on, and found a security tag on the sleeve - an hour and a half before the wedding! This Macy's location is very similar to others I have visited. They had the same merchandise and a similar layout. My cousin and I stopped in just to browse around the men's section for her husband, but ended up not purchasing anything. We did not ask for any store assistance, nor were we offered any. This was fine, as we were just shopping around; but, I cannot speak as to their customer service, as we did not receive any. We looked around the home goods section as well, and they had a nice selection of merchandise at the same prices I have seen at other Macy's locations. If you're in the Fayette Mall and looking for a specific item I think Macy's is a fine place to look. They carry a wide variety of merchandise including clothing, home goods, luggage, makeup, perfume, formal wear, purses, shoes, and accessories including jewelry, sunglasses, and watches. It's also a great place to shop around, as they often have sales and you can find things for yourself or gifts for others that you may not have even been in the market for. This is a full department store with everything from Mac cosmetics, Lush Bath supplies, Origins Beauty, Sheets and bedding, juniors, frye and ugg boots, childrens, coach purses....the list goes on and on. If you need it, you can find it here. Plus there are some really amazing sales and coupons. I should tell you a secret. I have a Macy's credit card. This only gets me in trouble occasionally, you know, when I just have to have item "X". I like that the Mac and the Lush accept the Macy's card so that is a plus. They are reasonably organized and have a big selection. I can't find everything I want here, but some of their departments have quality brands and a great selection. Today I went to pick up my wife's Chanel products at Macy's. There has been a 15% off presale going on for cosmetics and we always take advantage of this huge discount as these products get very costly. I was pleasantly surprised to arrive and be greeted as usual by Mercy who always helps us to get our products and notifies us with a text message whenever there is going to be a presale! That's good customer service. They also offer to mail the products to our house for free, but going into the counter gives us a chance to purchase anything else that might be running low on my wife's cosmetics supply. read more

I am having the worst experience with furniture delivery and being lied too and before i go online and post I will try this way first. my wife and I have bought over 10,000.00 dollars of furniture for our new home and have been told delivery last week canceled because they were sick, re-scheduled for yesterday and the lies just kept coming, we received text messages and multiple calls and waited for 7 hours on promises of delivery and never showed. we called back today and now being told we have to wait 2 more weeks before they deliver if this is the way Macys treats their customers this is wrong. I will post on social media and let people know about Macys practices. my wife has worked for your company for 13 years and we have never been treated like this, it's a shame we are going through this. now we are being told its going to be another 2 months until mid-December before we get our bedroom set. i am tired of being lied too and not kept up to date from them about problems. I hate to diss one of the last remaining department stores in Lexington, and this is more a diss of Macy's the company because the company has not responded to my query. I purchased a beautifully soft 100% tencel shirt at the Lexington Macy's, but bought a large because they were out of mediums. I found the same shirt, exactly the same described at Macy's online, available in Medium so I ordered it in Medium. When it arrived it was clearly inferior, not soft, and when I checked the label it was only 35% tencel. The brand is Calvin Klein, which funnily, the same thing happened to me during the pandemic when I ordered my favorite CK sweatpants online that I had purchased at the store previously to wear during the pandemic. The sweatpants that arrived were clearly inferior to the ones I purchased at the store, but at the time I thought maybe I had just ordered the wrong kind. Since it was the pandemic, I never returned them but sent them straight to Goodwill. In any case, that discrepancy was more noticeable after the second discrepancy between the quality of an in-store purchase and online Macy's, same brand. Something fishy is going on and Macy's did not reply to my question as to what. Hence, thanks, Yelp for the opportunity to warn others. read more

I want to give a huge shout out to the Furniture and Bedding at Macy's Fayette Mall. Yahoo! A great selection of quality furniture and staff that know the products they are selling. We went in to purchase a mattress during the Black Friday sales and our sales-person Laura was able to give us the information we needed, knew all about the different levels of quality and also told us the best value for the money we wanted to spend. Never trying to get us out of our comfort zone. We were in and out in a hour and expecting the delivery on Wednesday. You can't ask for more than that when purchasing furniture. She was very respectful of our time and our budget. read more

They have a pretty wide selection of merchandise. Unfortunately, it's always on the floor. This is one of the messiest department stores I've been to. It was never this way when it was Lazarus. And it just gets worse with each level you go up. Housewares is abysmal. The staff/associates aren't particularly helpful and even when they do help, it's at a snails pace. Still, the selection is pretty good and it is bright and easy to maneuver around. And I don't know why it bothers me so much, but the broken floor tiles really look ghetto and unappealing. It was probably hotter in there than outside, I just wanted to comment that it is really horrible to make your employees work in those conditions, they need to fix their deficiencies, such as the AC in a timely manner for your customers and employees. My mother came yesterday to pick up 2 purses. She did a pre-sale. She picked up one but the the other purse was no where in sight. The clerk said it wasn't on pre-sale and that she must had already gotten it. Today I was helping her get through the phone system since it's a mess and she was getting quite frustrated. She got a someone in shoes but they were unable to transfer so had to wait until someone from handbags to come to the phone. My mom explained what happen and that she paid for a purse but doesn't have it. She said a manager would call her back which hasn't happened. That was hours ago. I am SO, so sorry to write this review, but I feel like I have to. I LOVE Macy's. LOVE this store. I spend a good percent of my yearly earnings here and I have no problem doing so. UNTIL I am frustrated to the point of not wanting to give them my hard-earned money, and then we all have an issue. Christmas Eve (I know, of all days-but in my defense I work a LOT and still had a few last-minute things to pick up) I am browsing through the store and happen upon the fine jewelry counter. I realized they carry a certain gemstone which I had not seen there previously and needed someone to show it to me. There were two (2) sales ladies in the fine jewelry, right in front of me. When I asked if one could help me, they looked at each other and one of them commented, "I don't know where she went," presumably talking about a third associate. One of the two associates walked away and the other one reluctantly walked over to me. I inquired about the rings and the stone and the blonde associate looked AROUND me rather than AT me while she spoke. Frustrated, I inquired as to the designer and gave her information to let her know that I knew what I was talking about as far as the specific designers of the jewelry made with this specific gem. She showed me the two rings I asked about but did so without giving any thought to it and certainly didn't offer any advice or information. She just continued to look around as if she were looking for someone. I grew extremely frustrated, though I liked one of the rings very much. However, her lack of basic customer attention lost a sizable sale. I've been looking for this type of ring for months, but I'm not so desperate that I'll sacrifice my expectations when buying a high dollar item. I'll continue looking. read more

Yesterday my husband and I were shopping in the dress and suit department of Macy's and apparently a meeting had just ended and about 6 or 7 ladies came out of the office on second floor. I needed help and said "excuse me" to several of them and they continued to visit with each other and ignore us. A sales clerk named "Jennifer" came over and asked if we needed help. Yippee! Finally! Jennifer was amazing! She gave me the service that has been missing in retail for some time. She took me to a dressing room and hung with me getting different sizes, colors, styles, etc. until I found the perfect outfit. It turned out to be a wonderful shopping experience thanks to her. I've always liked Macy's since they have good sales. Best time is finding their end of season sales. They've decreased the size of their plus size section though. Just because we are bigger doesn't mean we don't want to wear nice looking clothes. They have their own entrance so you don't have to go through the mall if you don't want to. read more

I was provided with excellent customer service and feel as though it should be brought to your attention. I went into this encounter feeling as though it would be one where I would spend a lot of money and come out with sub-par material when in fact it couldn't be further from my expectations. I was greeted promptly and quick which was surprising given the number of customers in the store on this particular day. . I was able to purchase a suit for my current job with little to no trouble. The lady was able to help me choose a suit that fit me perfectly and was stylish. I walked in and told her "I was looking for a suit for my job and that it was important to get something today." She replied with "Yes. We have plenty of suites that I think will fit you perfectly." After 30 minutes of trying suites on I was able to find the one that I liked the most and purchased it. I walked into Macy's and in less than an hour I was able to come out with the suit coat that I had wanted. It was inexpensive in comparison to a tailored suit, which made the purchase and overall experience that much better. This was an encounter that I feel was perfectly bridged with my standards as a consumer and your standards with service design. The training department did a phenomenal job in explaining how to greet and fit a consumer. This in turn leads me to believe the knowledge gap between me the consumer and this particular Macy's store is minimal in that you at the company not only met my expectations as a consumer but exceeded them. The only recommendations I would have for you as a firm would be to recruit more employees like you currently have. I felt as though Macy's was very understaffed for the amount of shopping going on during a regular business day. Consumers like one on one attention and this is something that I will be expecting from now on when I enter into this store. read more
