I thought surely this mini location wouldn't have the exact items I desired, but it did! I found in Lexington a shade of lipstick from a small Black-owned Detroit brand that I haven't been able to buy at their flagship store. Weekend made! I also found other makeup items that have eluded me at the larger stores in Michigan. Cute store, by the way. I love the appeal of the store front and parking right at the entrance.

I used to shop the White House Black market outlet stores, but much of their clothing appears to be of a different quality (except for the sales racks which seem to have some clothing from the boutiques). I came here on Sunday with my friend who had some birthday money to spend. The summer sale items were 50% off of their reduced prices. She found many nice dresses and tops. I also found a good black shirt and skirt with a black, nude, and white, pattern on it for work. The store was quiet and the saleslady checked in on us often. The appearance of the store is neat.

Good news! Kohl's isn't the only place in Georgetown for new clothes! There's a Maurice's! Woo-hoo!…read moreI was pretty darn excited to notice Maurice's a few weeks ago (after blindly passing it all the time). Maurice's isn't the best clothing store ever, nor is it supposed to be upscale or cater to ladies beyond 30 years old, but hey -- it's an option. This location? Well, a bit smaller than others. And the clothes seemed more trendy/club-ish/expensive than usual, too. Basic tank tops ran $12+ -- eek. There seemed to be more black, glittery, lacy top than anything else. Where were all the flannel shirts and casual tees? Shoe selection was very limited. Jeans were reasonably priced, but the quality wasn't there. I don't know. Maybe my expectations were skewed. Or my perception is off. But after I left, I wasn't really excited about this location anymore...

I'm actually surprised that this place hasn't put Michael's out of business. Both are very similar and close to the other, but Hobby Lobby has a ton more to choose from. HL has a LOT more home decor than Michael's. My daughter is an artist and I often find myself at Hobby Lobby. I'll use the excuse of her artistry supply needs to feed my home decor shopping habit. The home decor is plentiful... I could spend a year's worth of pay at one time, but I have to use self-control. They have what I believe to be the area's largest selection of artificial floral supplies. I've used the framing services several times and it was always on time and I was always satisfied with the results. I pretty much want to say exactly what Heather P. said in her review for this place…read more Lexington Green Mall is located near Fayette Mall (incredibly close, actually), and is filled with higher-end stores that you won't find in Fayette. Stores like Anthropologie, lululemon athletica, White House | Black Market, francesca's, etc. It's small, though, so the store selection isn't extensive. There's also two restaurants -- the Brontë Bistro in the bookstore, and Palmers, which, from my wanderings, looked like it was also kind of connected to the lower level of the bookstore. On another note, the scenery is kind of lovely here. There's a pond with ducks in the back of the shopping center that provides a calming retreat from shopping. Palmers' patio is next to the pond, as well. The front of the mall is also very pleasing, with many places to sit and eat/read/chat/write/whatever. Not a bad outdoor mall, but I'll probably only return just for Whole Foods and Joseph Beth Bookstore (which is amazing, by the way).
