The store was well organized with the exception of the clearance area which to be honest is like that no matter where you go. The employees are friendly and helpful whether it be this location or the campus location (which is closest to our house). There was definitely a good selection of produce and it looked fresh. Every lane I went down was either stocked or being restocked in a couple of areas. There's ample parking and I could have parked closer to the entrance but chose not to. I'd rather let someone who needs to be closer to the entrance of the store have a spot to park in. I went through self check out and didn't have to wait in line.

The layout of this store was different than what I was use to. The selections were good in most departments and the value reasonable. To be honest that was only part of a mother's day gift I'm putting together. I also was on the search for a coffee mug which I found. The store has a variety of snacks, candy, chocolate, dry food items, coffee ,etc. You can find some furniture, lamps, small kitchen appliances, bedsheets, pillows, bath towels, area rugs and so much more . They did have the Hurley bag which is identical to the bogg bag. I also saw a pretty yellow Stanley cup. The ladies at the registers are all friendly and efficient. They will ask if you want to apply for a Home Goods credit card. The store itself is well lit and was pretty organized and neat. I did find a Ray Dunn coffee mug as part of her mother's day gift.

The powers that be here…read moredecided it would be great for business to place the worlds grumpiest elderly woman in charge of roaming the store and enforcing the most mundane and pointless of rules. For example, as my family was checking out (they were the only ones in line) someone approached. Thankfully old grumpy lady was there to rudely point out where the line started. We are all so relieved when she moved the man 3 feet over from where he was standing. As I sat and waited on my daughters to try on clothes, I was told I couldn't sit there. Why? I'll never know. I can't imagine anyone enjoying their shopping experience with this nasty heifer grazing the store.

However, the one in Cincy will be going out of business in January. On the way home to AL I stopped by this location thinking they would have a good choosing of designer shoes, and boy was I majorly disappointed. They didn't have one major designer shoe at all. I was completely shocked by this considering Cincy had more options. I assumed most Saks Off 5th were the same. I know they don't carry the same styles or exact same shoes, but I at least thought they would carry the same amount of designer options. However, this location I feel may be a bigger store and was more organized. The choices were slim and nothing to report home about. It reminded me of a Nordstrom except with not as many good choices as Nordstrom. This location was not what I expected, and they did not have the options that I expected them to have.

I have to repeat myself from the review I just wrote for the other Shelbyville location of this…read morechain. First of all I will offer the disclaimer that I am not a Dollar General Store fan and could never award this chain a five star review. The merchandise varies as to whether I would buy it. Wrapping paper and greeting cards are one item that I would consider. Clothing in general is often inferior and cheaply made. Seasonal items are sometimes a good buy and sometimes not. This is not the kind of store that sells anything and everything for a dollar so you have to watch prices. This location of Dollar General is convenient when I need to run in for a card or wrapping paper. It has the common parking lot with other businesses that I shop and plenty of parking spaces for all the businesses. The store itself is kept clean and organized. It seems a lot more roomy than the other location of this business in Shelbyville. You can even walk with one of the stores carts up and down the rows. So if I want to shop Dollar General this is the location I would choose, it's A-OK for this type of store.
