What this Macy's does best is show how to take a prior store (Foley's) and spend a chunk of time, money and effort making a worse store to replace it. The Foley's was a great place to go. Helpful sales staff, nice variety, good prices, and (for me) a nice assortment of tall sized clothes that went beyond beige. I got some furniture from Lucerne (who retired after Macy's took over), and a bunch of house stuff for the kitchen and bedroom. When Macy's took over there were a number of changes. First, the number of sales and items on sale dropped precipitously. Second, the staff went from personable to store-image-training polite. I could imagine them having 'conversation' with a pillar and not noticing it was a dead steel beam. Third, Macy's house brand clothes replaced Foley's, and was a) lower quality b) higher price and c) had no tall sizes. OK, to give them credit, maybe it was new store teething pains, I have not been back in a year. So this Saturday after getting a $10 gift card incentive from them to return, I took a detour and ventured in. Little changed. There are two neat parts to this Macy's: 1) Macy's The Cellar with lots of neat kitchen stuff 2) It has lots of exit doors that facilitate leaving. Which I did. read more

I agree with the other buyers. The service or lack thereof is unbelievable. Asking them to unlock the fitting room is like pulling teeth. They tell you to go to the other side to find another one. The store is really hot and the employees are not nice. They are more worried about their friends and each other to help you properly. I wanted to try on shoes and took 4 pairs to the girl. She actually sighed and asked "you need all of them"? Luckily they had a shift change and a more seasoned employee came on her shift. I ended up spending over $300.00. Ordered two shirts online. First one arrived and I went to pick it up. Associate at service desk said I could not pick up package without ID; pickup instructions do not specify this. So I walked out to my car, got the ID. When I came back, a different associate helped me and she didn't ask for ID. Second shirt was delivered on Monday. On Thursday, drove 20 miles to pick it up and package could not be found. read more

This review is actually for the maternity section at this Macy's location. Normally I think Macy's is ok. There's usually a sale in the store and they honor their online sale prices on home goods which is unique for such a large operation. My advice would be to take your business elsewhere when shopping for maternity: you can't use regular Macy's coupons and the signs in the store indicated sales are deceptive. You end up spending just as much or more as you would anywhere else. My guess is that anywhere else would have better selection, too. I needed a gift for my preggo sister-in-law and I work near Willowbrook Mall so I figured I would go check out the Macy's maternity section since I have a metric ton of coupons from Macy's at any given time. Anyone who has ever shopped for maternity can tell you clothes break the bank, and Macy's is no exception. I thought it was cool though because I found a couple of cute things on sale and I had at least $15 worth of discounts so I'm thinking it won't be so bad. I take the items up to the register and bust out my various coupons and the woman at the counter (I guess she's the owner of that department or something) stares at me and says "You can't use those here". Huh? She goes on to say something about how she rents the space and "can't" take regular Macy's coupons. Ok, well, I shrugged it off as maybe Macy's fault for not putting that in the fine print clearly. Then she scans this really cute shirt that was on sale and it shows up as full price. I inquire as to why the discount didn't show up and she said it wasn't on sale. I said "Well that shirt and 10 others like it are over there on that rack that says 20% off". She responds by saying that the sign ACTUALLY states that only SOME of the shirts on this rack are 20%. I go look and indeed there is some teeney tiny print under the giant 20% OFF!!! that says something like 'on certain items'. There is no indication on the sign or the price tags as to which of these mystery items are actually on sale. Now I'm pissed. Are you kidding me? That's completely against shopping code. She has obviously tricked people this way before because she responded with blazing unapologetic speed that I was the one who had misinterpreted the sign. I do realize that this was technically my fault , but in my opinion they were being purposefully deceptive. BOOOO read more

Big selection no matter which department you're shopping in, I have found a lot of great items that I needed for specific occasion like wedding and they always have a lot of sales. Sometimes the sales racks become a cluster f*%# but that's pretty typical for a sales/clearance rack. Sales staff have always been very friendly and helpful when needed. read more

Never shopping at this location again! Today we just went to the mall to get something and came back at atound 6:05pm and the door was completely closed even though the store closes at 7pm, the lady at the Michael Kors desk was vey rude and wouldn't let me in to get to my car, I wasn't going to buy anything and had a child with me, she just told me in a rude way to go some other way to get to my car, and she didn't care if my child was tired. This lady was really mean in my opinion, thanks to the lady from the Clinique desk named Sandra for explaining it better even though we still weren't able to go through, still they used to leave a door open Idk why they're not doing it anymore. read more

I went into macys to the cosmetic store. I wasn't sure how to shop in there and there wasn't enough employees to help. I found the full exposure palette and was asked if I needed any help I said I needed to check out she told me the people over there meaning the Mac department could ring me up. So I went over there stood in the line that people formed at a big desk waited 10 mins for a man finally help me get my ruby woo lipstick I asked to pay for my palette and I was told this wasn't the department we do that in and I told him the lady over there told me to come here he said well that person didn't know what she was talking about. So I paid and I put the palette away, and i left and you missed out on some of my money. This is a business I was at a cash register I had a product that was in the same area as the other cosmetics and I was told it wasn't right. The lady was still adjusting a watch the whole time. We watched someone from the other department not even come to help, instead just grabbed their purse and left. We go here with our son to find his dress clothes for his high school and social events; football banquets, orchestra banquets and concerts, dances, fancy-dress dinners, etc. I love the Men's selection here...the suits and shoes are gorgeous and we always seem to find great sale pricing here on expensive designer pieces. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is comfortable seating by the fitting rooms, which is a plus when waiting on our son to try on so many different pieces. The men's store is not connected to the main Macy's...two totally separate locations, which I find to be inconvenient, but other than this minor inconvenience, this store is great and is stocked with a variety of really sharp and stylish merchandise. read more

Really like this Macy. Its seems larger than most. This Macy has its own men's department separated from the other Macys. Which is cool. The staff is super friendly and their are always great deals to get. Weekend sales, coupons etc. Today trip I found several shirts half off , bringing in fall line I suppose and the cashier scanned a 30% off coupon and I got a super discount which equaled a free item. She says oh I thought they were helping you I said I thought so but the walked off. After getting to the service desk to pick up my order 2 other employees talking about and upcoming wedding to even acknowledge me. I went today to pick up my sport coat that had an alteration. I asked the indifferent sales lady if I could try it on she said 'sure ' and then ignored me as I looked for a place to try it on. Before I even tried on I noted the sleeves were excessively wrinkled. I pointed this out and the same lady said, "Yea, they wrinkled." And proceeded to turn around with her back to me. I asked if they had a steamer and she said "No, we don't have no steamer." "Would you like your clothes looking like this?" I asked. "No, I wouldn't," she replied with no further interest. I just wanted to check stock on an item. 12 phone calls and still cannot find out. I was transferred to the Home Dept 9 times, transferred to HR Dept and to managers that never answered. It is ludicrous that they cannot handle a simple inquiry. The operator was rude and not helpful at all. Perhaps I interupted her painting her nails. i usually always find good deals here. you gotta do some elbow work though. if you are willing to dig, you could probably find some great steals. macy's is my go to store. when in doubt, buy them something random at macy's and get a gift receipt. you are then all square. i don't like that the men's department is separate from the women's, mainly bc im lazy and two different transactions sucks. i dunno what's not to like. i mean for the most part, they have things in stock. i must admit the clearance and sale racks are a bit overwhelming but then again, elbow grease and you are good. there's pretty much always a wait to check out and whenever you need assistance, no one is around. but when you finally flag someone down, they are nice to you, even during the holidays. the fitting rooms are crazy. sometimes, you'll even find what you are looking for on the racks in there. so check. actually the best way to find your size is to ask the cashier to look it up and see if there is hope. you know the price scanners are pretty amazing. saves me a lot of time. so even though others didnt like their experience, i thought it was what a typical department store is like. even if you hate it, you'll come here again bc its convenient and has what you need. read more

I went in this afternoon to buy a blender on sale with a rebate btw, well how can I resist passing through the shoe department, they have such nice set up with so many boots out so I decided to buy a pair of boots in. They were very busy for a Wednesday but they made it worth my while with their friendly service, I decided to shop despite there being so many customers but they were adequately staffed. I was greeted by a Female in the Finishline department as soon as I sat in the bench to try my boots on. I had no idea they are separate from dress shoes. She was pleasant, friendly, talkative and extremely knowledgeable about tennis and after explaining my issues with Nike being narrow on my feet she brought me a few other tennis to try on, she showed me inserts for support and then the water proofer I didn't know existed. I got it because the amount of rain we get and I can use on my boots as well. Only sad my Macy's coupons didn't apply for the tennis (it's in the fine print of the coupon) but she offered a rewards program. I didn't sign up for it. But if I wasn't in a rush after spending a lot of time there I would have. I'm a happy shopper thanks to both employees that helped me in both shoe departments. Andre with the shoes and ? I'm just sad I don't remember the tennis reps name, short girl blonde hair and she was alone in her department, she deserves the credit because I had given up on wearing tennis YEARS ago until today. The hubs and I made our way through the Willowbrook Macy's today, looking for some new clothes to wear to an upcoming wedding and family gathering. I found an elegant CK dress and some nice casual travel wear, hubby found a RL suit for much less than might be expected. In spite of large holiday crowds, sales clerks were helpful and maintained a sincerely friendly and positive attitude. Best of all, some great deals were had today. Yay! Long before Nordstrom emerged on the California scene, even going back to when I was a little girl, Macy's was always my department store, the place where my mom and I would spend many a happy Saturday together. And though I loves me Nordstrom, Macy's, and her great holiday sales, even this little outpost, will always have a special place in my heart. read more

I try to avoid the mall but I ordered a dress on-line for my 11 yo daughter that was too small so I ventured to Macy's at Willowbrook mall to return it. We parked, went in and immediately was greeted by a moldy, mildewy smell that reminded me of a basement. The store was also very humid like the AC was not working properly despite it being a pleasant temperature in the mall itself once we left Macy's. A glance around the store revealed cracked floor tiles, dirty carpet and unattended "service centers". Once we got to the children's dept, we found a similar dress in the correct size and had no difficulty returning the online purchase. When I asked the salesperson to direct me to the children's shoe department, I was surprised to learn that Macy's no longer sells children's shoes in the store. They are sold only online. What?? While I love the convenience of online shopping, the hassle of ordering then returning shoes that do not fit a growing child's foot is just too much. Unfortunately, long gone are the glory days of department stores filled with the scent of new designer clothes, leather handbags and expensive perfumes. The thought of a department store not carrying children's shoes was outrageous just a few years ago. Maybe that new Amazon drone will deliver and return purchases that department store refuse to sell. read more

I went to macys looking for a sport jacket and a shirt to go with on fathers day weekend. After looking around with no luck and no employee, I got encounter by this lady that it happens to be a My Stylist for the store. I did not know that Macys offer such a great service and at no cost. She help me not only look for the sport coat and the shirt but she also find a pair of pant, belts and socks that goes with it. I'm definitly coming back! read more

I usually avoid department stores like the plague but I decided to stop in to see if anything decent was on sale. They sent me about 6 coupons and I just realized last night that they were valid through Black Friday. I DID read the back and noted that there were a ton of exclusions but figured as a coupon specifically labeled for Black Friday it should work on SOMETHING in the store. Apparently they are only good on full priced items? I didn't see much in the store that they would work on...just a ploy to get people in the store. Anyway...I checked out at a stand near the mall entrance and ended up waiting in the line forever. Fine it is black Friday...I knew what I was getting into. Though there were only 3 people ahead of me....Anyway they opened a second register. The lady that rings me out asks for any coupons. I hand it to her.. she scans it, hands it back, and tells me the total. I looked at the coupon and at the total and ask "So...the coupon didn't work." To which she respons..."Yeah, looks like it didn't apply." Okay fine...but I was just peeved that she wouldn't just say that. She gave me the total like I wouldn't notice or care? Sooo I pay and she tells me I have to go back to the purse section to have the theft devices removed. Okay so I have to go back to the other side of the store, get somebody to remove the devices and come back to the other side of the store to head out. I always try to be polite especially since it's not a huge deal...just super annoying. Something about the way the cashier handled the coupon thing really annoyed me. Maybe I'm just in a mood today... Also this Macy's is just plain nasty. I've been in before and it's the dirtiest Macy's I've ever seen. Purchased a dining room set. The table was damaged. We had them out and after 4 times of them visiting, still issues with the table. Had to contact corporate to get it returned and to make sure the credit appeared on the account. The furniture has been picked up, but the bill still isn't reflecting the credit. Another call to corporate to take care of something that should have been done. Needless to say I am not happy and will not purchase any furniture from them again. read more

I went to both the men's store and the regular store. The men's store was a great shopping experience. The other store was really hot and it seemed as if the air conditioning was not working. The shoe department smelled like feet as if the carpet had never been cleaned before. The smell can be felt throughout the store. Employees were trying to keep cool by waving papers In Front of they're face. Overall terrible experience and never coming back. I think I'll stick to memorial city mall. read more

I go to this Macys often to purchase Polo during most of the 25% of Sale. I also do price adjustments often because items go on sale quickly and there is no way I would throw money away when I haven't worn an item. My biggest grief is with the customer service. I find them to be rude and condescending. They seem to have a problem with you if you are in their section to often as if your bothering them. I spend a whole lot of money in this department. For someone to act like they are tired of you coming to spend your money is just rude. When they see me coming one will turn and whisper to the other. Other times one May comment in that tired voice and bucked eyes "your here again". Don't worry about me, I'm doing what I do, they should just stick to getting my money and providing customer service so I'll come back. I don't like most of Macys polo department sales reps.
