When I needed help finding a pair of over-the-knee, high-heeled boots in a wide calf size, the older woman in the shoe department barely made an effort--she didn't check the back, look up inventory, or ask anyone else for assistance. I love Macys. I have spent a ton of money in this store since they opened. I have never had an issue until recently. I went in two weeks ago to pick up a purchase and buy something; simple. The clerk was beyond rude but the store manager came and corrected the issue. I ordered a pair of shoes online for store pick up. I saw three pair on the rack at 815pm on 12/22. At 930am, I ordered them online for store pick up. At 1pm, I received an email stating they were out of stock and shipped instead I needed them for Christmas. I went in around 6pm on 12/23 to pick up the rest of my order. I went to shoes and found all three pair. I took one pair to Customer Service to see if they could switch it back to store pick up. Juanita, clerk, was beyond rude. I was laughed at in my face for asking. I attempted to explain that I received an email they were out of stock. I tried showing her the email on my phone. I was met with laughing, eyes rolling, head twisting, and beyond rude comments. I stopped her and said "please stop, I don't deserve this type of treatment." She thought that was ridiculous. An assistant manager came and told her to leave. This didn't stop the behavior. As I attempted to explain what occurred, she stood there interrupting making "uggghhh" noises. I was simply attempting to pick up an order and make another purchase. I then asked to speak to the STORE MANAGER. Well, Juanita went at it again telling me SHE is the store manager, laughing, snickering, and twisting her head. I explained the STORE MANAGER is a man, not a woman. The assistant manager then confirmed he left for the day. I told them to cancel the order and I would go to DSW. They then said they would have to call customer service to cancel the order. While on the phone with customer service, the assistant manager decided to talk about me to another employee who sat there and stared at me. When I left, I picked up the shoes and walked away. I stated I would put the shoes away and didn't need help. I considered having the clerk in the shoe department by the exit ring them up. The clerk the assistant manager talked about me to decided to scream across the store "thank you for your patience, Happy Holidays." This was not out of kindness. It was pure sarcasm. I was more than 700-800ft away. I kept going as it is pointless to engage in this ridiculous behavior. My grandson saw them laughing. I wish I could say I was rude. It would at least explain their behavior. I simply wanted to pick up my shoes. I cancelled my Macys credit card. I will go to Stonebriar to return the shoes. Dillards is a much better option. It is never acceptable for customer service associates to act like this. No wonder Macys is closing stores at rapid rates. Juanita has helped me so many times over the years. I have never had an issue with her until last night. She is usually quiet and matter of fact. I was shocked by her animation last night. I never saw that coming. read more

UPDATE: 6.16.2021 I received an email at 1:10am stating that UPS would make 3 attempts to pick up the package. I watched all morning and still missed him because he didn't knock and the doorbell is off, don't ask. I saw a UPS driver across the street and went out and asked if he attempted to pick up my package. He said he did and would be back around after he finished his deliveries. He was back within a few hours. I also received an email this morning with the incorrect refund amount. When I called to get that straight, the rep tried to lay blame on UPS for the condition of the package. He also suggested that I open it. Nope! The UPS driver stated he was the one that delivered it, and it was in that condition when he picked it up for delivery. I don't doubt it one bit! He said that it was good that I left it in the box. Will pen separate review for UPS. I do understand that he had no choice but to deliver it, no matter what the condition. He was just doing his job. I have since exhaled! UPDATE: Called again today, June 15th, and was told the request for return was denied the next day, June 11th, because the person did not complete the request correctly. Soooo, you mean to tell me he didn't get a notification that the request didn't go through!?! Of course he did, and did absolutely nothing!! Were delivered on May 7 Alexa the Manager said that because it's been over 37 days I had another 7 days to return it. She told me that the policy changed a year ago She said she will do the return in store credit. And the lowest price. So i dint agree with her. She went and got 2 more employees without name tags so don't know what their names are. They proceeded with return which they had told me i would get a store credit. And then they said that it's going to be mailed within 7 days a check that looks like a check but it's not a check. So confusing. I had three swimsuits to return. All were purchased online at Macy's.com and were a gift to me. They all had tags on them, and unfortunately this is the closest Macy's to me. I walked in and spent TWENTY MINUTES trying to find an associate that could actually do a return. When I finally found one, she was the rudest person I've encountered in quite some time. Apparently Macy's can't take back their own items without some sticker that they don't put on online items. When I asked to speak to a manager because the lady was implying I was trying to con the store (Seriously? They all had Macy's tags and I just wanted store credit!) the lady said "I'm not tracking down a manager just to tell you what I just told you." I had to then spend another fifteen minutes finding anyone with authority, only to be explained that items can't be returned without a receipt unless I have the credit card the person used. Apparently there is no way to just give store credit if you don't have a receipt or return label, regardless of what the policy online states. The associate I spoke with at the end was at least nice and even though I think it's totally asinine, at least I wasn't treated horribly again. I'll be donating three brand new Anne Cole swimsuits, complete with price tags. I won't be a Macy's customer and I can't wait until this location closes, as it serves zero purpose for being around. Ps...better swimsuits can be found at Belk, Nordstrom's and Kohl's. The return policies at these places are normal as well. read more

This Macy's is dark, disorganized, and generally very sad and old looking. It always looks like it is about a month away from going out of business. Poor product selection, dirty dressing rooms, minimal staff, and zero overall ambience. It's a shame because I used to love Macy's but it has gone downhill so much in the last four years. It has more of a ramshackle second hand clothing store feel. It would be worth the drive to head to one of the larger mall locations because this one is the pits. read more

Lots of parking space. Was just here to return something. The line was not long and I was next in line but even though I'm next, the wait is soooo long, been waiting for over 15 minutes. Thank goodness a lady from another register came over to see if she can help me with my return. After that everything went smoothly. Returned with no problems and due to that, ended up shopping again..lol. Seems like they need more people to work at the fitting room because there are a lot of clothes that needs to be returned. This is a well-laid out store with a good selection. I'm finding the stores are actually better for online shopping where the selection is far broader. Your in person experience is for a very highly edited, small shopping selection. But don't let that discourage you. The staff are super friendly and returning online purchases is very easy. This Macy's makes it appear that as a whole, Macy's must not be doing well. The inventory is sparse. The beautifully large dressing rooms have awesome mirrors, couches and a chandelier all of which look like they haven't been cleaned or maintained since the store opened. It's really a shame. I had a very frustrating experience this afternoon at Macy's in Fairview, Texas. I have been buying Lancome from Christie for a long time now. My name is Behnaz Safavi. There was an old woman ahead of me. She was kind of disoriented. And the heat I am sure was not helping her. She turned to me and asked the date thinking it was the 23rd and I patiently said it was the August 2. And there were two of them. The Korean woman who has been there for many years and the woman from India who has been there for months. And then five minutes into standing there. I approached one of them and said, I can't find my receipt for my prepaid purchase but here is my credit card. I couldn't find it at home and my partner said, just show them the credit card. By this time the poor old woman was still at the counter. Then they both walked to the woman behind me and got her receipt. And I was like, excuse me I was here first. The woman behind me who had arrived five minutes after me was with a girl about eight years of age. No matter how much I insisted that they should attend to me first and since I was there first, it was like I was talking to deaf ears. I asked for a manager and the Korean woman said a manager couldn't help me. And I am going to turn this into a review on your store in one second on google and on Yelp and your on your facebook sites. Any way, they took care of the woman who had come five minutes after me before me and I was not happy. And the Korean woman was saying because I did not bring my receipt. That is not what it was. It really was racism of minority against minority and by both women. One of them could have been better. Neither were. At the end I looked them both in the eyes and said, treat people the way you want to be treated. Again, it was like talking to deaf ears. Then I said, it is racism of minority against minority and I bet you would not like it if I did that to either of you and you were at the receiving end of this type of racism. Treat people the way you want to be treated. I found my name in five seconds on the list. It took five seconds but your lack of decorum makes me not to buy any thing ever from you again. I still don't understand why they did what they did. Does not make any sense. I like Christie. I don't like either the Korean woman nor the woman from India and I am from Iran. But, it is racism of minorities against minorities which is a serious problem in retail and in the country both. And I am still not happy about the Korean woman acting like my teacher punishing me for not finding my receipt and attending the woman behind me and refusing to call the manager for me. read more

Remy at the Lancome counter is absolutely the best! She was so wonderful, I had to leave a review about it. She was so amazingly helpful and just the sweetest! I go to Macy's regularly for my Lancome eyeliner. Staff members can be hit or miss with basic niceness. Most of the time, I am ignored or treated suspiciously. Remy restored my faith in them all! I will keep coming here for my Lancome, thanks to her. Outside of my eyeliner purchase, I shopped around here a bit. As previously mentioned, customer service is very hit or miss. My advice is - please pay attention to your customers and treat them all like they are worth your time. Just ask Remy. She gets it. read more

True story. My wife purchased a formal dress for a wedding at the Stonebriar location in Frisco. She tried on several dresses and settled on 2 dresses. One dress was formal, and the other was a basic dress. She returned another dress that was given as a gift and used the credit towards the purchase of the two dresses. One of the dresses was to be worn on Friday of the same week for a wedding. This is all relevant. On Thursday evening, my wife tried the dress on to ensure she was ready for Friday. I noticed a small tear at the seam near her buttocks. We chose to drive to the Allen location with hopes of exchanging the defective dress for one that wasn't torn. Unfortunately, a replacement was only available through shipping; the wedding is the next day, so onto plan B. My wife is able to find another dress that has make-up stains on it. Maybe it was a return, or someone smeard it with make-up while trying on the dress. No big deal, it's late, and we need something tonight. The first associate struggled with the exchange and told my wife that Macy's would have to mail a credit to her. Huh? This is 2022? Yeah, my wife had a receipt. My wife asked to speak to a manager. Manger comes over and is able to complete the transaction after several minutes and her series of questions. Yeah, lady we intentionally tore the dress to exchange it for another because we didn't have a receipt. Wait, we have a receipt. We just purchased the dress on Monday!!!! So,y wife tell me after we've left the store that the manager that assisted her was the same person that told my wife, that she needed to remove the dresses she had tried on from the dressing room. My wife is the customer, I didn't know that she is expected to return any clothing that she tried on, back to the rack. It must be a new customer service policy at Macy's. We usually return them to a rack or counter near the dressing room. This same associate also told another customer waiting to make purchases that the store was closed, implying that the customer would have to come back tomorrow. This occurred at 8:08 pm; this occurred less than 10 minutes after closing. I'm not sure when this will.post, so I want to provide as much information as possible. These incidents took place at Macy's in Fairview shooting center in Allen , Texas, at approximately 7:45 pm. The manager was working in the ladies' department and was ethnic. A capable supervisor should be able to determine which employee was scheduled at that hour. read more

This place is hard to navigate, hard to find someone to help you, and incredibly overpriced. I definitely question how Macy's is succeeding as a company considering other giants like JC Penney's and Dillard's that offer similar items are struggling. I went one evening after work to get a gift for a family member (they had something very specific from Macy's they wanted) and it felt like a ghost town. Creepy quiet, over-bright lights, and very little direction on the sections because their open-environment look means there's no signage. When I finally checked out the girl was nice, but super pushy on the credit card. Just not interested in shopping here again. read more

Okay so I normally don't shop Department stores but I decided I needed a complete revamp of my makeup and skincare routine (age and hormones are wreaking havoc on my face) so I decided to go back to using Clinique. Now Clinique is tailored to your skin type so as much as I wanted to I couldn't just order it all online. I needed a skin consult and since I live in downtown McKinney this is this Macy's I went. Okay, I'm not in retail but I would think that if someone walked in and said to me "I am revamping my entire skincare routine and I need EVERYTHING from cleaner to moisturizer to foundation and gloss" as a retail associate I would be like HELLS YEAH! Let's face it, Clinique ain't cheap. I don't know if the lady who 'helped' me doesn't normally work this, or any other, makeup counter or if she was just tired or what. All i know is that after I gave her my schpiel she just looked at me and said 'so you want what exactly?' Um.......... After explaining my intent a few times and still feeling like the last thing this woman wanted was to truly spend time helping me with this, I paid for the two lip glosses I had found prior to talking to her and left. (Did I mention that the entire makeup department was ghost town city and it took 15 minutes for an employee to even notice me?) I drove all the way to Colin Creek mall and found a lovely girl at their CLinique counter (review for her tomorrow) and finally got the pretty on my face I wanted to begin with. Today I went to buy some ties for a wedding I'm in. When I went to pay the guy asked if I had a Macy's card, and I said no I didn't. Then I got out my credit card and he asked to see my license. So I got it out for him. Then he said it would just be easier if I swiped it on the reader...so I did. Then he said just go ahead and confirm on the reader. I'm about to click ok, then I notice that he's signing me up for a Macy's credit card... This was extremely frustrating tactic. I think I'm gonna be done with Macy's. Up until Friday May 13, 2016, I hadn't stepped foot in to a Macy's in over 3 years. After my visit I was quickly reminded why. My bust had recently increased in size so I went in Macy's to get measured for a new bra size. The moment I walked into the intimates department there was only one sales associate on the floor and unfortunately she was already busy with another customer so I decided to look around while I waited. When I approached your sales associate to ask for help in assisting me in finding out my bra size her attitude and response was nothing short of rude and unprofessional "You don't know your bra size?". Obviously not if I'm seeking your professional expertise in doing so. She had me follow her in a dressing room to take my measurements. She then tells me that I'd gone from a 32 DD to a 32 C. Which made no sense! How would would I be a 32 C if my current 32 DD be too small? Anyway I decided to go ahead and just try on some bras in that size. I was extremely frustrated to find that you guys did not carry any 32 bras. Further more your sales associate continued to be of no help as she tells met me it's a rare size (which I highly doubted). After wasting way too much time I decided to leave and give Dillards a try. Which I'm glad I did. The sales associate there were far more helpful and I came to find that I was actually a 32 DDD/G. I didn't have to struggling looking around for bras to try on, they're sales associates were extremely friendly and easily available to assist me in finding what I needed. After this last visit I vow to never again step foot into another Macy's for as long as I live. read more

I love Macy's, and I love this location. New, clean, lots of good deals, and very nice, helpful employees (in ALL departments). The people in the Home department are SO sweet. First of all, I've had to shop for like a bajillion weddings in the past year, and I constantly go see them. They always remember me, and they always help me out. Even the girl that I don't usually go to said, "I'll tell Lori you stopped by!" I mean...she actually remembered that I always buy stuff through Lori. Last weekend, I went in (in a rush) looking for a cute outfit for a Bachelorette party (I TOLD you there's a LOT of weddings). One lady in the jewelry area walked around to like 3 different sections with me, helping me look for the perfect necklace and earrings to go with the dress I found. I just asked what color jewelry I should go with, and she went out of her way to help me. Then, I went to go check out, and another lady was standing around chatting (I worked retail; it happens). She noticed the line got a little long and took me over to another section where there was barely a line. She could've stood around talking about who Ashley from Juniors messed around with last weekend, but she went out of her way to save me time instead. Very nice. Another thing...I don't get retail credit cards. I learned my lesson in college. However, I do tell people (I'm in finance) to just get ONE retail credit card and make it worth it! Macy's is DEFINITELY worth it! I get SO many coupons and offers. I honestly can't remember the last time I bought something there that wasn't on sale or purchased with a coupon (or both). I also love that they have a Starbucks inside. I don't typically buy it, but it gives my boyfriend something to go do if I'm taking too long. :) read more

It used to be great shopping here since no one knew about this location. I can always get some good deal on something I need, which is everything according to my wife... Picked up a pair of golf shorts for $29.99 (regular $50.00) the other day, sweet! Nowadays the cat's out of the bag, and it's a tad bit more crowded than before. But that's quite alright. I'd like for them to stay in business. Needing a coffee fix? No problem, the Starbucks conveniently located inside the store can help you. Fancy a bath bomb for that bubble bath later? You're covered by the Lush section! If there is one downside, it is customer service. I would say 3 out of 5 employees are helpful, with the other two still looking for a clue as to what's going on. read more

This employee was busy but at least acknowledge me and say something like " Be right with you when I'm finish with this customer ". She even didn't have the decency to say HELLO. I've been twice, once for clothes and once for shoes. No problems with the clothes as I don't like to have a lot of interaction while I'm shopping. But it was difficult to find a salesperson when I needed one. On the second trip, I just needed a new pair of heels for work. One salesperson in the shoe section, but she was at the register and there were people in line the whole time I was there. Over 20 minutes. Never even got to try a pair on because my feet aren't the size that were on display. Moved on to look at purses. Sales lady ignored me the entire time and when she walked by me, she looked at my clothes and then kept walking. I was dressed for work! They were nice clothes! And most of my outfit was FROM MACY'S! No idea what her problem was. After not being greeted or assisted by a single person in the store, I just left and bought shoes at Aldo's. Update: tried again today. Again, not a single person assisted or offered assistance. The women's clothing options were so poorly organized I gave up and left. I won't try this location again. It's a shame because Macy's is usually my go-to store. This location is just the WORST. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. This is one of the worst stores I ever experienced. I went there to look for 2 dress for my 2nd wedding. My husband and I are restating our vows in celebration of our 35th wedding anniversary. Because of family deaths of my mother and my sister we had to cancel plans during our 25th. Than because of the death of my other sister from cancer and than my own cancer once again we had to postponed our plans. Now, we are getting ready for our big celebration. When I went to the counter to ask a question about this dress to see if it came in 2 different sizes and 2 different colors (1 for me and 1 for my sister who is my Maid of Honor), I was told I had to go to the Plus sizes section. When she said that, there were at least 6 to 7 people standing in line who just looked at me. I have never worn plus sizes, and even if I did the way she said it was loud, rude and obnoxious. The young lady I was talking to took me over to the other counter by the bed sheet area and they were able to answer my questions. The Plus sizes were busy on their computers helping to check out other customers. I was so hurt, after submitting my complaint to customer service with all of my information, I walked away in tears. The worst part of this experience is that we never received one phone call from the store manager with no explanation or apology. Macy's keep all of your clothes. AWFUL ON-LINE EXPERIENCE I am not one who buys on-line often but on Sat, May 19, 2018, I ordered a shirt from Macy's on-line. Immediately following the submission of the order I notice an incorrect number in the address. I call Macy's back right away and explained the error. After going through the usual verifying protocol, I was informed that Macy's could not make the correction and to call back when I receive the tracking number in approximately an hour and we could have the shirt re-routed. I received the tracking number and called Macy's again, only to discover the lines were closed and to call back on Mon-Sat. The following Mon, May 21st I called at approximately 8:00 am while driving to work. I was placed on hold for over twenty minutes with no reply. After I got into the office I called Macy's again. This time I got an answer but Macy's stated they had to put me through USPS. USPS then informed me that they did not see my order. I returned a call to Macy's to inquire about the order and was placed on hold for an excessive period of time again. I returned another call to Macy's and demanded to speak to a supervisor. I was informed to give it another 24 hours to upload in USPS's system and call USPS back. I asked how I got a tracking number if USPS did not have the order but got no sensible answer. I returned a call to USPS on and explained my issue, only to be informed it was too late and that the shirt was shipped to the incorrect address. The following day my wife happened to notice a package being placed in our neighbor's box. She went over to the neighbor's house and they gave my wife my shirt. After I opened the package I found two holes in the shirt. 1 in the front and 1 in the back. I drove to the nearest Macy's and showed them the shirt. The lady was very nice, apologetic and gave me a refund. I went back to the men's department and found the exact same shirt. The in-store price was higher than the price I paid on-line. The man gave me the shirt for the exact same price I paid for it on-line but did not discount the shirt for all the inconvenience I faced, nor to consider the time and fuel cost I loss driving to the store. None of the staff were anywhere, the store wasn't busy. When I finally found someone in the shoe department she was rude and unwilling to help. I had looked online before going in to see if they had something I was looking for which they did. They instead of helping pretended I was crazy insisting I had no idea what I was asking for. When I took my problem to customer service the young man there couldn't look me in the eye and listen. Instead continued working while I was telling my story. So disappointing. No shock that Macy's is having to close stores across the nation with this type of customer service. read more
