Wow wow wow! A generous gift card brought me to Macy's today. I ever forget how very much that this store rocks (Im a big TJ Maxx and eBay girl)! Sales galore to make room for the spring (and summer) lines to boot! I got a gorgeous fuchsia (light weight material) sweater and a classy short sleeve black velvet top. I still have moola left on my gc, soooo - an excuse to go back :) My son crapped out on the parka that he wanted (didn't have his size), so he was going to purchase a nice second choice one. BUT Vanessa, our cashier, helped him find a better comparable to the fav one when he inquired if they had other sizes in the Vince Camuto one that he really fancied. This woman was so sweet, kind, and genuine. Vanessa helped him find a great black one with a super similar design and even helped him order it! It will be arriving - with free shipping - to our house within a week! I (re) opened a Macy's account and scored an additional 20% off - woo hoo! I cannot wait to go back!!! read more

Macy's, like all department stores these days, has a slightly sad, nostalgic vibe to it. You know it'll probably be bankrupt within the decade, but you love walking through it and browsing the goods regardless. On my most recent visit, I was on the hunt for a new winter jacket. I didn't have to "hunt" at all though, as I walked up to the jacket area on the lower level, saw a Calvin Klein coat in the exact style and size I wanted on the edge of an aisle, and that was that. It fits perfectly, looks great, and was 50% off. Nice. Surprisingly, they had garment bags available. I didn't realize that was still a thing in NJ following their plastic bag ban, but I'll take it. read more

Went to Macys to buy cologne. The women selling were really nice and helpful. She said if I sign up I would get 25% off my first statement credit. After a week I receive my card to find out they only gave me 20% towards my credit statement. Mind you, I repeated this 25% credit offer multiple times and she even helped me with the math while I was figuring out the final price. This also made my decision to buy the $140 cologne instead of the $108.That's dishonesty, the worst kind of sales. Wont return or use my CC. read more

Macys customer service was at one time the best in the business. Now the service center they are using is staffed with people who are not accommodating at all. After 30 years of being a loyal shopper, and a Platinum card holder I am done. At a time when retailers are struggling you would think that they would bend over backwards to please the customer. We went to the Deptford Mall store today. It was an embarrassing mess. Children's clothing in total disarray, thrown all over the floor, piled in heaps on the counter. I couldn't believe that I was actually in Macy's. Just shocking. Boscov's by comparison looked like an actual store, everything nice and in its place. We bought several items at Boscov's. Nightmare at the fragrance counter at the Deptford Macys. The women are more concerned about sales than customer service. While attempting to return a cologne kit that was over their 37 day policy, they told me that they couldn't even attempt to try to do so, that the computer would not let them. They didn't even bother to ask for my receipt, not realizing that I was under the "holiday" return policy until the end of January 2024. This was complete and utter laziness. They failed to even ask the date of my purchase to see if they could help me. It was their "discretion" to NOT go above and beyond to assist a customer. Isn't it amazing how quick they are to push a piece of fragrance paper in your face, yet when it comes to a return they all look confused. (I also did tell them that Cherry Hill fragrance manager told me they were willing to do the return. The Deptford fragrance women didn't care and followed up with "GO TO CHERRY HILL AND LET THEM DO IT FOR YOU"). You would think that I am going to talk about today's younger generation and how they don't want to work and have a sense of entitlement, BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE. The fragrance women at Deptford were all OLDER women in their 40's through 70's. Shame on them. The "saving grace" to this story is that the store manager "Joan" was kind, compassionate, understanding and patient with me. Upon checking my receipt, she told me that an "override" was NOT needed b/c I was under the "holiday" return policy. She then quickly processed my return and apologized. She handled this professionally! She went ABOVE and BEYOND to assist the customer. This is how a customer should be treated! As much as I wanted to revisit the fragrance counter and tell them that they didn't even bother to look at my receipt or assist me, along with giving them the business, I decided to just bite my tongue b/c I didn't want to cause a commotion. Went there today for their Black Friday "deals".... After spending all the time we did shopping for their clothes in a huge section marked 40% and 50% off we were ready to check out. Upon checkout we were told everything was full price and just because it was next to signs showing they were marked down didn't mean anything. The lady that rang us out proceeded to say nothing as we informed her we didn't want any of it at full price. Complete lack of empathy and clearly shows they understand how they are deceiving customers. This shopping trip leaves a sour taste in my mouth about Macys and for that I most likely will not be back due to the situation not being made right. Buyer beware. read more

Well seeing i am not a Macy's kinda guy.. more into the models.... dicks sporting goods, and you see where i am going. My wife loves this place.. She does find the deals in this place.. she has a nose for it.. she knows when the sales are happening before the employees can put the "sale" sign out there... don't know maybe my wife is part pyschic....ok 2 things.. 1st: It keeps her occupied and i like to see the smile on her face when she is looking at perfumes, or dresses.. purses,shoes, makeup, and whetever else Macy's offers... 2nd: i also hate the place .. hear me out.... for any of you macy fans out there... The restroom in this Macy's was horrible. Water everywhere, broken toilet, no soap in 2 dispensers, dirty and disgusting!!! Was here on Saturday afternoon. Love shopping at this Macy location, but something needs to be done about the cleanliness of this establishment. Also, dressing room near the restroom must have been 100 degrees. ONLINE SHOPPERS BEWARE!! I placed an order on the Macy's website for almost $300 and they also put a hold on another $300 as well. Please use caution if you decide to shop online. It was so simple to order online and ready for pick-up the next day. Got inside and walked over to the jewelry counter to ask where I should head for my pick-up. From what I was able to see, another fine example of retail merchandising. I particularly enjoyed all the impulse Christmas displays that skirted the perimeters of the housewares department. And it is nice to see price checkers throughout the floor. Sadly I was not driven to make any purchases, but the Godiva chocolates were a close call. read more

I recently was looking for a pair of boots in the women's shoe department in the Deptford Mall Macy's. I was having a difficult time finding what I wanted. Although there were so many people shopping and returning shoes on 12/31, I was fortunate to have Julia Grace wait on me. She was unbelievably patient and truly went out of her way to find me a pair of boots that I love. Julia Grace made it a pleasure to shop during a very hectic time. I am not one to write reviews, but she truly deserves to be recognized by her employer for being an outstanding employee. She was kind, patient and knowledgeable when she could have easily ignored me. If I ran a business, I would have talked her into coming to work for me. read more

Transgender friend not allowed in men's dressing room because she looked too feminine, kicked out of women's changing room for looking too masculine. Funny thing is, Macy's corporate policy since at least 2011 has been to allow trans people to use whichever changing room matches their identity, after they fired an employee in Texas for discrimination. Interesting. I guess trans people should just guess and check how clothes are going to fit them! No solution offered by employees, couldn't find a manager to resolve. Oh well. Won't be coming back, this location is trash anyway. Never had this problem in Cherry Hill, even before she started hormone therapy. read more

This is a specific complaint about the woman currently working in the men's coat department at the register. I went into the store to get a box for a coat that I bought for my husband a week ago. I explained to her that I had bought a coat for my husband and I forgot to ask for a box, could I have one. She very rudely asked me for a receipt. Gave her my receipt. She asked me what size the coat was I said I believe it was extra large. She asked if it was a real long one I said no, it's a short coat. And then I told her it's one of those Calvin Klein wool coats and pointed out the specific coat to her. She then hands me a box big enough for a shirt. I asked if she had anything bigger I told her the coat would not fit in there and she very snottily responded that's why I asked you. I was nothing but extremely friendly from the beginning and this woman was miserable. She then basically threw the bigger box at me and said this is the best I can do. And then she very sarcastically said Merry Christmas. read more

Not my favorite Macy's, but it's the closest to home. The Junior's department kinda sucks in comparison to others because the clothes seem more for 10 and 11 year olds. Also, many times it's hard to find anything in this department because things are either messy or in the wrong place. The shoe and home departments are great and have really good selections. This is my least favorite Macy's for the men's department. I like that they added a MAC counter so I don't have to travel far for amazing eyelashes, but I ended up having to travel far for amazing eyelashes twice because they were sold out :\ read more

On Saturday 9/21/19 at approx. 11 am, my wife and I was shopping in Macy's Department Store in the Deptford Mall, New Jersey. We waited in the Lady's Shoes section for about 15 minutes with no one at the cash register. There was 6 other customers waiting also. I noticed that the stockroom door was opened so I stuck my head in a said "Hello", I could hear some people talking but i could not see them. A woman came out of the stockroom and I told her that my wife would like to buy some shoes and there is no sales people in the area. She said loudly "Yes the sales people are in the area." She pointed to two sales people ringing up customer on the other register in another department. She called one of them over to the Lady's Shoes section. While my wife was have her purchase ranged up, I sat down waiting then a man in plain clothes appeared from the stockroom. I knew the man and asked if he was working (security). He said yes. It was clear that she called him because of me. It made me feel uncomfortable to think that if i didn't know the security guard who knows what would have happened. If you are black be very careful when you shop at Macy's. I will spend my money in a store where I feel safe. read more

My son and I went to the Deptford Mall in search of a suit jacket for a formal event. We first went to Sears and didn't find much of anything and were never asked if we needed any help. We decided to try Macy's and see what they had there. When we entered the men's department we were directed to the suit department (impressed they have a whole department specifically for this). When we got there we started to look for maybe 30 sec - 1 min before a man named Charles came over and asked if we needed help. He quickly pulled out his tape measure and measured my sons chest, advised on what size he thought would fit him properly, picked something for him to try on, helped him try it on, explained how it should fit. This specific jacket also came with suit pants. My son went in to try on the pants and when he came out Charles was there to check the fit on his waist, he explained where they should sit and why. He explained how he should stand in the suit, the correct way to hold his hands, to use his pockets... I was in awwww... I was so impressed with the knowledge this man had and the care that he took to explain everything, I was blown away. We will from now on only be going to Macy's for any future suit needs. What an amazing experience and a wonderful impression that was made not just on my son but on me as well. Highly recommend going to see Charles in the suit department of Macy's in Deptford especially for young men that could use the guidance and information!!! read more

Buyer Beware............I recently ordered items from Macy's Online. to be exact, 2 coats for my granddaughters. An ad flashed at the bottom of the screen for small diamond earrings ($29.99). I thought they were cute so I ordered them also. The coats arrived first and the earrings arrived yesterday. The package was sealed and when I cut the package open and took the box out, the box was empty. immediately called customer service and of course had to speak to someone from the Phillipines. Of course I could not understand him that well, but he proceeded to tell me that he earrings were no longer in stock and that my account would be credited. In an attempt to speak with someone at the corporate level today, NO AVAIL. As i was in my email, there was an advertisement for these earrings again (IN STOCK), but for $39.99. I pressed to see if I could order and of course now there's a shipping fee of $10.85 + tax. This is such a rip off to all customers. read more
