TJ Maxx's can be hit or miss. Yes, there are some great bargains, but sometimes you'll need to put away your OCDness for a hot minute and try not to be distracted by how messy it can be. And it's not always the store's fault - shoppers are damn lazy and will pick up merchandise in one area and then get rid of it by dumping it in another section if they change their mind. I like that that they have different sizes for women available, and I once lucked out and found a bunch of their cardboard cat scratchers for $6.99 that are usually closer to $10 each, so I grabbed a few of those. As always for a store of this kind, grab what you like now as more likely than not, it will not be there three days later. read more

I visited this store for the first time in YEARS, to shop for some summer outfits for my trip to Nashville . I'm 48 & suffer awful hot flashes and can not try on clothes in fitting room . I dis want to have that happen and get lotion and sweat on the clothes. Figured I'd try on at home. I spent $194.88, and went to return 3 items WITH RECEIPT!!!!! I understand it was past 30 days but thought since I had my receipt and the items still had their ORIGINAL TAGS, I could get store credit ... NOPE!!! All I got was a miserable , smart mouthed, " customer service" employee who was annoyed by me even being there. Easy to decide I WILL NOT BE RETURNING AGSIN EVER !! read more

My friend Chrissy introduced me to (the Deptford, NJ) TJ Maxx about 15 years ago. I've been hooked ever since! You've 'hit' with gorgeous purses as soon as you walk in - so hard to resist! The aisles and racks are always chock full of goodies at great prices. I especially love going in the hair / beauty products section and stationery. If you luck out and find something in your size - snag it because it WILL be gone the next time you visit. During the holidays, I was able to score my dad his favorite Carlsbad Oblateen wafer cookies here - and 8 tins at that! Before you hit the department stores, do yourself a favor and stop her first! I've been shopping at this TJ Maxx for at least 15 years. It's a very large store and it has lots of things for everyday needs. I'm mostly attracted to the home goods at this location. They have a very large candle section, that I just luv. I find very large, heavily scented candles at a fraction of the regular price. I've recently purchased lamps and rugs for my bedroom and I decorated my daughter's entire dorm room. I enjoy shopping at this location due to the amazing quality of their goods. This TJ Maxx is in a shopping center with lots of other stores that are of the same quality and it makes for an enjoyable shopping experience. read more

Shopping at TJ Maxx is so much fun. I have a very nice 3 hrs shopping. I go by myself so no one bothers me. They have so many different departments to choose from. I shop every department. This place is cool. My first time going in was a bit overwhelming with the over abundance of items out on the sales floor.. BUT the (clearance) prices were dirt cheap. It's messy and understaffed. People work hard there but they can't make up being too short of staff.

This place has gone downhill FAST. Apparently when you return something online you can return any fake item. My mom bought what she thought was a real Moncler beanie for $250 but when I took a look at it, it was OBVIOUSLY a fake because the tag inside the hat was glued on and there was no logo on it. About an hour after she had bought the item we went back and tried to return it but an employee named Sanjita had accidentally ripped it off trying to check if it was really a fake. She then called for her manager that came and she (the manager) was talking about how she couldn't refund our (obviously fake) purchase and she complained about how they wouldn't be able to resell the item because the tag was off. THANK GOD for Sanjita because she made the return possible because $250 is not a small amount of money. I still think it's interesting that even though the manager knew the item was a fake, she was concerned that she couldn't resell it. Edit: I should say that I didn't even have a yelp account but this rubbed me the wrong way so I thought this review would be helpful for others read more

I am constantly at various different TJ Maxx's since it is basically my favorite store. Where you get name brand stuff for super cheap. Not only that, but I stopped by today after work, had a cart full of things to try on. I tried everything on and only liked how one shirt looked on me. Being overwhelmed with the usual... "I need to lose weight" conversation after trying everything on. I went to check out with mostly stuff for my boyfriend, that one shirt, and little things like Chapstick and so on. I was greeted by the cashier, her name was Faith. After being at so many TJ Maxx's I have never met someone so kind and so talkative. She talked about the clothes for my boyfriend, how she got the same exact shirt I purchased, how she spends tons of money there as well. She was so sweet and a pleasure to talk to. This store used to be such a pleasure to shopin. They had great clothes and other household items at great prices. Their return policy was easy and wonderful and their customer service was awesome. Now- I would never shop there again. The quality of merchandise has gone wayyyyy down, their return policy makes it very difficult even with gift receipts and their customer service leaves much to be desired. It's sad that department stores such as Macy's has gone out of business yet discount retail stores like this one, which has come so far down remains in business. read more
