Macy's is always a great place to shop. I enjoy looking around for bargains, typically off season merchandise that has been marked down drastically. On my most recent visit, I was looking for new bedding. I am happy to say that we found a nice set, but I am sad and embarrassed to say, after just now checking the labels, that it was made in China. I hope Macy's, along with other department stores, could put up signs directing consumers to merchandise made in the U.S.A. This will remind all of us to purchase our own products! read more

My fiancé and i visited on Saturday after seeing wedding rings online that we were interested in purchasing. The people behind the counter were so rude and acting like we were such a burden to talk too. Thank goodness there's a Jared's in the mall. We just went down to Jared's and spent about $1,500, mostly because they were polite and they were personable...Great job Macy's you just missed out! Came in today armed with a snazzy $10 off any $30 purchase card and a birthday gift card... Left empty handed and empty inside... Found some clearance jewelry that was super cute... A really nice necklace and bracelet... They were in two separate places in the 75% off area... At least three prongs on a structure clearly marked 75% off with 10 or 15 of the necklace I liked... On the table (also marked 75% off) was 4 or 5 of the matching bracelet... I talked to an employee, showed her where they were and she said they must have been marked incorrectly because they were obviously in the 75% off area in two separate places... She told me the price should be adjusted and quoted the adjusted prices... I thanked her and told her I had to find something else and I'd be back to check out... I walked around in circles trying to find something else that I liked to get me to at least $30... After over an hour, I finally found a dress and went back to jewelry to ring up with the lady I left the previous finds with... She was otherwise occupied with a woman whose name on her card didn't match her license or something, so I had to be rung up by someone else... The other employee rung (rang? lol) up the jewelry at only 25% off... I told her the jewelry was ringing incorrectly and the lady next to her had already checked and it should be 75% off... She told me nope, it's only 25% and it must be in the wrong place or something... Instead of arguing, I told her to keep it and left with nothing... Looks like I'm going to Carolina Place tomorrow to spend this gift card... Awesome afternoon... How about working on signage today, Macy's? Ugh. read more

The Southpark location has hands-down "the worst" women's department I have ever encountered. Overall this Macy's does not match the look or feel other locations throughout the country. It has none of the luster of stores in Ohio, NY, etc...It's looking more and more like a Burlington Coat Factory or Marshall's (not that there's anything wrong with those stores, I shop there regularly) BUT the prices should then reflect that type of discount store. read more

They told us to call the main customer service line instead of calling themselves, but the worst part was the main customer service manager we reached over the phone. I am very disappointed with Macy's Online lack of effort to retain my online business. My fiancé frequency shops here for clothing for me, so I decided to order some clothing myself. I placed the order at 8:30pm Sunday evening for several pair of jeans and sweaters, for a trip I am taking up north this weekend this weekend. I frequently shop at Amazon and Overstock so my expectations were 1 to 2 days to process and ship, and another 1 to 2 days to get to me. I received an email that it would be 4 days before the shipment even ships. I contacted their contact center in an effort to see if they can contact their warehouse and speed this shipment up or I would need to cancel my order because it would not arrive before I left for my trip. With ABSOLUTELY no effort, compassion, empathy the representative says she will cancel the outstanding order, and since you guys broke the order up its nothing they can do about the rest of the order until it ships. UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I asked for a manager just knowing she would have a better resolution, and exact same answer. So now I have no cloths or no money to buy the cloths in the store because everything is in limbo and no one is even trying to do something simple as make sure a couple pairs of Levis can arrive a day or two earlier. THE WORST. I would give zero stars if it was an option. Management here ignores calls for help from its employees. 7 people in line just now, waiting for half an hour. Associate called manager for help, had to call twice because nobody came the first time. Manager came, Lisa, said "next", rather than apologize or explain. Three people then told her this was ridiculous. All she could say was an insincere "I do aplologize". It's NOT enough. I will not be back, I will not order online. OMG! This place is like, my life! So let me recap for y'all. Me and my life partner Ricardo went shopping for some outfits for the new season, and of course, he had to be feeling uncooperative. But that was okay! The Macy's staff helped me so much! Ricardo is a pink type of guy, not because he loves pink, no, because pink loves him!! The staff who helped us, who was just an absolute cutie, gave me and my partner some absolutely fabulous choices! Of course, I couldn't choose, so Ricardo being an absolute doll let me get all 5 of my shirts, plus a work out shirt for my Pilates class! We even saw one of our good couple friends, Stephen and Brad! Right to the checkout, I was having a good time! They had just the best chocolates but I'm watching what I eat right now, so I said No thank you!" But, overall the total bill might have been a tad pricey PERSAY, but Ricardo told them we had a coupon, which we did (I am certainly no liar!), and they counted it off. Have shopped at Macy's for years. Despite the lack of personnel and customer service at Southpark, it was my go to store for certain items. However, last Saturday proves how inadequate the training and management is. My husband and I were in the furniture department looking for a bedroom set. There was a set on the floor I was interested in, which had been taken apart. Headboard was against a wall with frame. I wanted to feel the headboard to see if it felt like wood. The headboard came crashing down on me. I tried to catch it before hitting me, but it split my finger with a gash. Salesman came over and said I will call the manager when he saw there was blood. Never asked if I was ok, but said was not my fault, I didn't take that apart. After waiting about 10 minutes for someone to arrive with a band aid, I went to the ladies room to clean the cut. Unfortunately, the bleeding continued. Went back to the department and a sales manager arrives with security. Sales manager asks how I am, walks away and starts texting on her phone. Security had something to clean the gash and gave me a band aid. Asked if I needed ice or to go to Urgent Care. We filled out some report with contact information and was told "Corporate" would be in touch with me. To date, no one has contacted me to see how I am or what happened. Salesman and Sales Manager were completely useless. My husband suggested having first aid kits in departments and was told that was a good idea. LOL read more

I just want to share my experience. Be aware! You should think twice prior to buy something at Macys. I have been a customer for 5 years and I just had a terrible experience. Horrible customer service. On 10/15/16 I made an online purchase at MACYS.COM. in the amount of $79.63. This transaction was charged immediately to my American express card. On 10/22/16 I returned the merchandise at my local Macys (SouthPark Mall, Charlotte, NC). On 11/1/16 I called to the customer service department inquiring about the refund and the representative stated will take 10 business days to show the credit in my account. I have returned several items in the past, and the credit is usually reflecting after 3 business days. It's been more than 10 business days and the refund hasn't been posted in my account. I called my bank and they verified there is no a transaction pending from Macys. I called customer service again today 11/10/2016 and after spending 1 hour on the phone with the representative this matter hasn't been resolved. I will NEVER do business with Macys. I had submitted a BBB complaint and they haven't even responded to it. Zero care for the customers. read more

This review is for Macy's online services. I'm incredibly displeased at both the online interface and shopping experience at Macy's as well as the customer service I received upon calling about the problem.At checkout, I attempted to pay via PayPal, which is a more secure way to shop online. At the point of payment, the *Macy's* site took me to an error message, saying that the site was unavailable at that time and to try again later. Taking Macy's at their word, I returned to my cart and checked out via my credit card (not, again, my favorite way to shop online). However, unbeknownst to me, *both* orders went through, despite Macy's error message. I realized this 1.5 hours later when I checked my email and discovered 2 confirmation messages. I called immediately. I was told the duplicate order could not be stopped (really? I can even stop Amazon, and it's a tremendous machine at work). The representative told me she would send a note "to the carrier" to hold one of the packages and return it to the sender (Macy's) for an expedited return. However, I received 2 packages from the USPS. I called again. I was on the phone for 35 minutes with an Indian representative who seemed only able to make me more frustrated during the process: I asked the refund to take place immediately (this was Macy's error, after all) and was told it would be processed in 7-10 business days *after they received their items back.* In, again, comparison to Amazon: with a similar issue, they immediately processed a return and told me just to keep the items for my trouble (I hadn't even asked Amazon to keep the items). I didn't want to keep the duplicate item from Macy's, but I did want my money back immediately. Now I've got to ship their item back, taking my time to do so. I've wasted 45 minutes on 2 irritating phone calls with an Indian call center, and I'm out my $30 for them to refund at their leisure. Needless to say, this is one unhappy customer. read more
