My husband needs a new suit for upcoming wedding. We walked in around 5:30pm on Monday night. One salesperson was helping someone. Without glancing up she said someone would help us. We both said thank you and started walking around. After about 5 minutes another customer came in and was helped immediately. He was just picking up something so it was quick. That sales person never looked at me. Another salesman walked in and said hello. Next thing I know he was straightening shirts. At this point my husband is fed up and ready to go. As we are leaving, we hear- have a good night. We would have had a good night if we could have purchased a suit!!!! Went to a different place ( MW are the initials) Greeted right away. Probably the worst customer service I've ever experienced. The lady who we asked for help gave zero effort to helping us. She seemed inconvenienced by our being in the store. Looking back I stopped shopping at Joseph a banks in 1991. Back then I went into the South Park store and the employees were busy chatting with each other so I walked out. I found a salesman from Tom James and bought from him until he retired. Today I walked into the store at South Park store. From the looks of the door I thought the store was closed. I walked in and saw a nice large store with lots of clothes. I walked the entire length of the store. I spotted 3 employees. There were two men talking to each other and a woman standing behind the counter. Not one single word came to me such as hello, is there anything I could help you with? Do you have any particular needs that we might help you with. Thank you for coming in since our store is dead and needs a blood transfusion. I am not sure how Brooks Brothers closed at least they took time to be rude. Oh maybe that's why they closed. I was in the retail business in 1978-1980. I was in the store and had several specific needs/wants but was totally ignored. How in the world this place has stayed in business? The dry cleaners next door said they treat everyone exactly this way. I am sure I could bury them in business in 3 days with friends. I could sell more than these folks blindfolded. Please management wake up and fire these clowns. Whatever you are paying them is a huge waste. read more

We had gone in with a promotion, and though Kevin did not initially know what we were referring to, he did some researched and helped my fiance mix and match items to fit into the special. Very unfriendly. We were hoping to stock up on some dress shirts. Picked 6 shirts, carried to the fitting room. One employee followed us and said:"you don't have to try all of them, you can just try one". We explained there was two style fits and he said "then just try two". After we explained that we would like to see how the color looks like on someone, he said, "well you can see the color right here! They are the same size and you don't have to try all of them!" We actually don't understand the logic. And isn't the purpose of fitting to see how it looks overall? We actually talked to another customer and he is having the same issue. read more

I went to the store to find a nice summer suit for a wedding in the next few months. I was actually directed to the store from another store in hopes that they may have more of a selection. And they did from the looks, but unfortunately not a single soul greeted me when walking through the door. As I strolled through the store looking aimlessly at selections. Sure there were individuals in the store that were being helped, but what took the cake was that there were other groups that came into the store that received the greeting that I did not. Here are the facts: 1) Husband goes through button down shirts faster than I go through a pan of brownies (well, not really, but close) 2) I don't really like to iron, nor do I do it well, ditto husband 3) Jos A Bank runs more sales than any store imaginable. Considering these three facts, it's understandable that I find myself in Jos A Bank once every quarter or so to pick up some button downs for dear husband. The shirts are nice - especially the Traveler's Collection - no iron required! They also have a solid variety of suits, accessories, sweaters, etc. A few points to note for shoppers... -Sales folks *can* be pushy and a bit overbearing. This completely depends on the day and the person helping you. Sometimes I've had to politely ask for some time and space to just look around a bit. -It seems like they have a fire sale every week. You can catch these over hyped promotions on the radio and on local cable. I'm still waiting for the moment where the commercial says "Buy one sweater, get the entire store for FREE!" So, I will continue to go here because hubs likes some of the wares, it can be affordable with the right sale and it's easy. read more

I had an absolutely terrible experience at this location. Our wedding party came in to get our suits fitted, however the Representative that talked to us over our custom suits options was not there. We went to the location since we are on a time crunch for the wedding, and we needed our suits measured as soon as possible. The representative that was in the location at the time did not want to assist us at all. She said that they work commission based and she did not want to assist us since we had already spoken to someone else. We explained to her that we have a very busy schedule, and that this was one of the only opportunities the groomsmen had available. The representative seemed very lazy, and extremely prejudiced. I intend on escalating her attitude to the appropriate lines of business, as this is unacceptable in a customer service role. read more

I had to go to Jos. A Bank to get a wedding suit fitted. I hate suits! But they did a great job here. Tom was the guy handling this wedding so he handled everything for me. He explained all the terms like hem, flat front etc etc. Which for a guy like me who doesn't own a suit, was helpful. I can't speak much to their prices because the suit was already paid for. Anyway, went to Jos A Bank at South Park last night to look at suits for the big day and get everything set up for the groomsdudes to be able to make their purchase. We worked with Kenny and he was a pleasure. We told him what we're looking for - a blu suite, not dark dark navy, something light as our wedding is in the summer, and a reasonable price. Let me just say that Kenny delivered just that instantly. What he showed us was exactly what we were looking for. I know this because I did tell him I wanted to just view the others and we ended up picking another option that turned out to be the exact same suit. It was meant to be. Kenny quickly confirmed our contact information and got the group set up immediately after our visit. Don't get alterations done once you purchase the suit! We purchased 12 suits for our bridal party and when my fiancé went to pick his up from getting the pants hemmed, he found that they had simply folded almost 6 inches of fabric up underneath the pant leg which made them bulky and heavy. When he complained they agreed that it was not done properly and he waited while they fixed it, only to find that there were now large holes in the fabric that you could see from a distance. We had to get another pair of pants and definitely took them somewhere else for alterations. Also, when we picked up the suit it wasn't pressed at all, it simply looked like it had been lying in the corner on the floor. Terrible service, attitude and quality...I now see why they have to offer SO many sales for their stores. read more

Never again! I was drawn into the store to get suits for my groomsmen, 8 of them, because of their Buy 1 Get 3 sale. I thought buying 2 suits and getting 8 out of the deal was too good to pass up. -After calling the store and speaking with Gerry, she assured us this was the way to go -First visit, to order 4 out of the 8. I tell her what kind of suit we're looking for, she shows me everything but. -Ordering 4 suits that were different sizes created confusion like you would not believe. All the while, I'm simply telling her what sizes I need, another employee is repeatedly asking for my credit card to pay, before we even know what we're ordering!! -They offer to ship the suits which I though was nice because the some of the guys are out of town. I give her the address for each guy, corresponding with each suit. 3 of the suits got returned to the store because they were shipped to the wrong address. I went to pick up the suits, which created even more confusion, so I could ship them myself -I call to place the order for the remaining suits, Gerry transfers me to the manager, and the manager asked me why I refused the suits when they were shipped?! I explained to her they were shipped to the wrong addresses and the residents probably told the mailman they didn't order a suit from Jos A Bank. 4 of the guys have their suits, I just need to order 4 more. Just an overall unreal experience, from start to finish. Absolutely will never step foot in that store again! The incompetence and lack of professionalism was astounding! My fiancé and I asked each other every time we dealt with them, How could they be that bad? But believe me, they are. Each and every interaction I had with them. We went to this Jos. A Bank to look for groomsmen suits. We knew the color scheme we wanted to we just needed to find a vest, pants, and a suit coat that matched. We've had friends give less than stellar reviews of this particular store, but since we didn't need that much help, we disregarded it. We looked around for about 10 minutes before we were even greeted or spoken to and that's because I flagged down a gentleman. He told us to find the vest colors we wanted and he would find the matching pants. Once we picked out the vest, the gentleman was no where to be found. After waiting around for 5 minutes, a young guy saw my lost look and helped us find the matching pants. A little later I needed to find the matching suit and all the sales associate were busy or no where to be found. I waited around for a bit for someone to wrap up but then just tried to find it myself. Try finding a matching navy suit out of 300+ in the right style, fit, and size. We finally just tried on something to get a feel for his size and left. We'll just try to buy online. Side Note - There was a gentleman trying on suits who had wider shoulders than his waist so he was going to buy a larger size suit and get it tailored. The tailor at the store told him that just tailoring the suit would never look perfect so he should just buy a custom suit as the price wouldn't be that different. The suit he was trying on was on sale for $249 whereas the custom suits were 2 for $1,000. It was a crazy up-sale and the gentleman seemed uncomfortable with it - as was I. If you know you're size, buy online - save yourself the trip. read more

Weddings are stressful, dealing with the incompetent, unprofessional staff at Jos. A Bank made things even more stressful. They were completely unorganized, unpleasant, and down right rude. A little customer service and professionalism could go a long way. 4 out of 6 of the groomsman's tuxedo measurements were wrong; incorrect shoe size, pants way too long, shirts way too big, missing items, etc. When we should have been enjoying the pre-wedding festivities, we were making last minute trips to Jos. A Bank to get the proper sized garments that weren't right the first or second time. On several occasions we had the displeasure of dealing with Anthony, he was completely unhelpful and rude. He's not even suited to work the counter at McDonalds, let alone a high-end retail store. Do yourself and your wedding party a huge favor and avoid purchasing and/or renting tuxedos from Jos. Then found it online and found it in the store again and had it ordered. Then 3 days later found it for $60 cheaper on their website and told they might be able to accommodate the change in price. Specific to this store, the staff was not the most attentive between either hard to find a staff person or getting their attention. Have been to other Jos A Bank with better experiences. Aaron had the pants tailored within 3 days and the correct shoe size in the color I preferred shipped to the store for pick-up as well. When I picked up my items Aaron was not working but Kenny Stephens made sure everything was perfect, and helped me pick up a few additional shirts for work. Don't go here for Tuxes. Went here to register my groomsmen for tux rentals for my upcoming wedding. Absolutely AWFUL experience. Clearly the salespeople make little to no commissions on tux rentals as they were much more concerened with the customers walking through the door than they were with me and my groomsmen. I went by myself, so maybe they didn't take me seriously; but, after this terrible experience I canceled my order and went to Men's Warehouse by Northlake Mall which was MUCH better. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Reasons why? A friend of mine went with a group of friends to get measured (a month ago) and their measurements were never entered in (they went today and that was what they were told). The person who did it was name Ken. The wedding we all have to attend is in 2 weeks! This is very unprofessional for a tux store. As someone who wears a full suit six days out of the week, it's important to establish a relationship with a clothier who can meet (and even anticipate) your needs. Jos A Bank typically does a good job of this, but it seems that this location is not completely up to speed. The quality of clothing from Jos A Bank is fairly good, and I like many of their Signature suits as well as their Traveler shirts. My problem with this location is a few of the salesmen (not all) are too eager to sell and do not listen to your needs or help to get you in a properly fitted suit. If he's available, ask for Glen, he will actually listen to you and give you plenty of personal attention. The tailor at this location has also been subpar in my experience. If you're looking to take advantage of one of their huge sales, I would suggest having a good idea of what you want before you go, then take your suits to your own tailor. It's classic mark-up mark-down, but you really can't beat Buy One Get Two Free on suits. In the meantime, take your hard-earned dollars to Brooks Brothers at Phillips Place, or if you really value personal service, Taylor Richards & Conger. read more

Yep - I'm a fan. Any place that sends me a daily email with a new SALE for the day/week gets my vote. Is it a custom suit or Nordstroms quality? No. But it doesn't try to be either. Good quality and a great price...period. My favorites are the Signature suits; travelers non-iron shirt; cuff links and their sweaters. Great place to shop for the following...yourself; husband or Dad/Grandpa. It's a chain, some better than others. Sales people aren't that knowledgable, but better than Mens Warehouse IMO. They're located across the country and the odds that one is located withing 15 miles of wherever you are is high! read more
