Sounds crazy to say this one of the best Italian subs and it's in Boca Raton, FL…read more Anyways this place is the real deal! V & S Italian Deli is an authentic Italian deli. It transports you to an Italian NY deli. The place is packed, bustling spot and that alone tells you everything you need to know. You know it's good when you walk in and the place is packed. We split the Chicken Cutlet Florentine and it was absolutely incredible. Heads up: the full size is massive, so splitting it is definitely the move and still totally worth it!! The service was super friendly despite how busy it was. I had my eye on the black & white cookie too because what's an authentic Italian deli without one? Sounds like my next visit to Boca includes trying more stuff!

When I…read morearrived, there was a long line and the place was packed -- always a good sign that something's being done right. The sandwich itself was good, made with quality ingredients and solid flavor overall. The bread and fillings were fresh, and you can tell they care about what they're serving. One small detail: I wasn't offered any sauce suggestions, and because of that, my sandwich ended up feeling a bit dry. I think a simple recommendation from the staff would've elevated the experience. Still, it was tasty and reasonably priced. The place is small, but it gets the job done -- very much a neighborhood deli vibe. Overall, a good, no-frills sandwich spot worth trying, especially if you're already in the area.

5/5 -- Worth Every Mile…read more Laspada's Original Hoagies is that spot for me. Whenever I head south, it's the very first place I stop--and when I'm driving home, it's the last place I hit before getting back on the road. I even have to bring home a full order for my family, three hours away. I literally drive three hours just to eat Laspada's. That's how good they are. It was one of my favorite places when I lived in South Florida, and after all these years, they're still making the best hoagies I've ever had. Fresh, flavorful, stacked, and totally unmatched. If you know, you know. And if you don't--go. You'll understand immediately.

I was driving down Glades Road on a rainy Sunday around 10:45 am. Decided to pull over into this…read moreshopping center to see what was open until the rain let up (which it didn't). Laspada had a lit up sign in the window saying they're "open." I seem to recall Next Door Boca giving them decent reviews. I am a native of Philly, hometown of the hoagie. I thought I'd give this place a try. I ran from my car through the rain and tugged on the door....locked. The door hours say open at 11! So much for the lit "open" sign. They have outdoor metal tables and chairs under an awning. I sat at an outdoor table for ten minutes. I looked through the storefront window at a couple employees prepping and I read the wall menu. A guy unlocked the place at 11. I let a young family and several other guys go ahead of me. Guy at the slicing wheel waited on me. I ordered a small Mama Lastrada turkey & salami on wheat. There's about a half dozen employees behind the counter dealing with the assembly line of customers and sandwiches. Guy at the slicing wheel tells me one of the other guys will work on my sandwich. Okay. However, I can't move down the line because there's customers still lined up ahead of me waiting for their food. Slicing wheel guy looks up at me a minute later and asks what he can get for me. I look back at him waiting for him to recognize me from a minute ago when he already had sliced my order. No recognition! I repeated my order to him. Now he remembers me! He again refers me to one of his junior sandwich prep guys. I overheard him telling a busy junior guy, "This is just a small Mama on wheat" or something like that. Still, I can't go down the line because there's guy ahead of me had placed an order for 3 sandwiches. I swear to you that the slicing wheel guy asks me for a THIRD time for my order! By this time, I felt like I was in a Monty Python sketch. I repeated my order. Again, he refers me to a third junior associate (Manny, Moe, and Jack)? Finally, a young associate asked me for toppings. I had noticed two lettuce bins. One bin looked fine. The other looked a little brown. I decided to skip the lettuce rather than ask him to pick from the left hand bin and embarrass them. I also saw a black speck in the onion bin. It probably was nothing but I decided to skip onions just to be safe. I chose tomatoes, Swiss cheese, pickles and sweet peppers. The debit card reader asks if I want to tip. I skipped that. Price was reasonable. Hoagie was okay. The roll was soggy. Philly hoagie shops pride themselves on their rolls. I understand this is Florida, not Philly. I can appreciate this place is popular and busy. However, being asked for my order 3 times by the same experienced worker there left me feeling less than special as a customer.

I ordered an omelet with bacon, tomatoes, and cheddar, along with well-done hash browns and a scooped, toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. My best friend got a whole wheat everything egg sandwich with American cheese. The bagels are perfectly baked--crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I love the touch of salt they add to their everything bagels. The omelet was cooked perfectly, and they have some of the best cold brew coffee around compared to other bagel shops. Nothing else in that whole Mizner-adjacent area was open yet -- not even the diner down the block, which doesn't start serving until 7. The bagels looked pale, so I asked if they baked onsite. Answer: no, the fresh bagels usually get delivered later in the morning. That immediately told me everything I needed to know and saved me from making a bad decision. The bakery case looked decent enough -- black and white cookies, pastries, etc. -- but since nothing is actually made there, I have to assume most of it was yesterday's inventory. Ended up ordering a Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a Kaiser with a large coffee. Fifteen bucks. Look, I understand East Boca commercial rents are insane, especially anywhere remotely near Mizner. But $15 for a breakfast sandwich and coffee from a place that isn't even baking its own bagels is absolute highway robbery. To be fair, the sandwich itself was solid. The Taylor ham ratio was right, eggs were fresh, and the Kaiser roll held up. But the whole operation feels less like a real bagel shop and more like an early-morning survival outpost for caffeine-deprived Boca commuters.
