I am a card holder and I use Macy's for my Christmas shopping for perfumes and colognes. This time I ordered online for metal bed frames (2) through PayPay. It stated shipment may be delayed due to Covid. No problem, I waited. I called to followup and check on my order only to be told it was delivered. I was home on the day and time they "claimed" and my security door bell will chime inside my home of ANY movement outside my porch gate. I checked my cameras on that day....guess what! No one came to my home to deliver anything. Now Macy's is saying because of their "new 45 day policy" I am out of luck! I did not pay over $400.00 for nothing! The representative name Lisa said she will call me back on the 25th (which is Christmas). She reassured me that she will call me on the 25th. Well, MACY'S IS CLOSED ON CHRISTMAS!!!! Their customer service is terrible. Stay clear of this store. read more

If I'm going to be completely honest, I usually only shop at Macy's for their MAC makeup. In fact, I only enter the Valley Plaza Mall a couple of times a year. This afternoon, my mom and I were scouring the Valley Plaza mall trying to find a particular shirt that nobody seemed to carry. We entered Macy's and started to look for it on our own. We were approached by a handsome young associate who asked us what we were looking for. After showing him a picture of the shirt on my cellphone, he offered to help us find it and we set off across the store together. On the way, he began chatting with us and he let slip that he doesn't actually work in that department, so he didn't know if they even carried that brand or not. He walked us all the way over to the correct department, located the employee assigned to that area, then asked he if they carried the shirt we were looking for. Now, remember, he'd been chatting pleasantly with us all the way across the store, and yet he remembered all the details (brand, style, color, and what was written on it. He could have just pointed to the proper department and left us on our own, but he walked us through the process and made it incredibly simple for us. Alas, they no longer carried the brand we were looking for so we were forced to leave shirtless (well, okay, mom and I were wearing shirts - get your minds out of the gutter) but with big smiles on our faces and a rather pleasant memory of our shopping experience. Now THAT is customer service. I only wish I remembered his name so that we could tell his manager how amazing he was. read more

This place is a total dump. All of the fixtures are old and a lot of the store is laced thick with dust. I'm not sure why the standards are so low for this store! Employees stand around doing nothing while there is plenty of cleaning and organizing to be done. Sorry excuse for a Macy's. read more

Snuck away from a conference for a couple of hours to get some downtime away from hundreds of high school kids. This Macy's is rather small. The shoe department is tucked away in a corner, almost an after-thought. Went to do some bargain hunting upstairs in the women's sportswear department. Found a couple of things and had to wait in line for about 10 minutes to make my purchase. SLOOOOOW service for a Thursday morning. And they didn't chant the mantra that my Macy's always chants "I hope you experienced outstanding service today." Guess they know that I didn't. read more

This Macy's was my go-to location for clothes over the past three years. During that time, this place has gone downhill severely. The biggest problem with the store is the utter lack of organization. Clothes don't match the sizes listed on the hangers & stacked clothes are completely out of order. Some degree of disorganization is understandable, but I see employees standing around having prolonged conversations each time I'm there. They could be organizing their department or offering help. The selection has also decreased a fair amount over the past few years. There is a limited amount of selection for professional garb. Should I find something I like, it becomes an uphill battle to find it in the right size. I've decided to take my business elsewhere in the future. read more

I was in here yesterday evening at about 7:00. The store was stacked out, very disorganized and messy. The staff treated me and my friend as if we were an inconvienence, or were in the way. I think they did not want any customers after 7:00 but the sign on the door said they were open till 8:00. After a half hour of the unfriendliness, we set our things down we had sellected and left without purchasing. I will never return to this store again. read more

The wife says that this Macy's is okay. We try not to go to Valley Plaza too often. The last few times that she has been here is to buy some perfume for friends. She gets some good deals at the Perfume departments here. Other than that, she does not buy anything else. She says that she can find better deals for clothes, shoes, etc. at Kohl's. read more

Shopping for shoes isn't fun when your 9yo son has zero interest in giving his opinion on what he wants. Richard over in the women's/ kids shoe section helped us out so much. My son picked out one shoe (thankfully!) to help get the process started. Richard asked what kinds of colors my son is in to, and he let me know he would bring out a few different styles. He came out with three boxes and interacted with my son directly. He made it fun for my son to pick out shoes to try on. My kiddo started opening up and giving opinions. I let Richard know that this was day 2 of trying to find shoes for him and he did his very best to help us get what we needed. In the end we purchased a Nike Air shoe and we adjusted the insoles (that have a great warranty) and found the perfect shoe for my son. Richard did a fantastic job, he was friendly and he related to me and my situation. I'd happily go back and purchase shoes from him again. read more

So happy Macy's expanded the women's shoe department. It gives a larger selection to choose from and a better quality of shoe than you find in the general mall. The purse selection is very nice and the Mac counters are great. The selection of clothes need help! The buyers need to think about who's actually going to buy these dresses and tops. The last time I went I couldn't find anything to buy because of the lack of style. The INC clothing line is nice but need smaller sizes in larger quantities. Glad we have a Macy's but it needs a few upgrades to compete with other Macy's. read more

I wad actually returning a items I bought from another Macy's and ran into a great sale. This is a pretty big Macy's. It has all the brands and a huge purse area. The shoe area didn't have such a great selection but everything else plentiful. I end up buying a few items as I returned one. Now mind you 2 out of 4 were on sale and I saved $32.00 which was the price of the item I returned. Even though I didnt save much I feel good because I needed some retail therapy. read more

Only 1 star because nothing lower to give! Currently my favorite department store has hit bottom twice in one month. First, I ordered a mattress that was to be delivered on 12/5, then they rescheduled for 12/7, followed by rescheduling for 12/12 and cancelling again to reschedule for 12/22. Finally got my bed. They expected me to wait 3-4 weeks when I was the first person to purchase this mattress. Who was I waiting for? Now, I placed an order before Christmas to be picked up at the store with no idea as to delivery date. I went on a planned trip out of town and when the order arrived I was not there to pick it up. They are sending it back! Mind you I called and said I would be back in 3 days AND the items were already paid for. They could not wait and the items will not be held. The payment will be refunded to m credit card and that's the end of it. And that's the end of my patronage. Pass this along to anyone hoping to receive their merchandise from Macy's online orders. I wish I took notice of her name tag when I was speaking to her instead of her heavily overdrawn, thick eyebrows. To the employee working at the skincare department, who hurt you? My effort to communicate with utmost courtesy and to smile kindly were not enough to garner basic human decency and respect from the Macy's staff. That was fine. I understand that we all experience bad days and cannot maintain professional 24/7 at work sometimes. I attempted to ask the employee about a deal that is currently going on at Macy's. The terms and conditions of the deal are stated clearly on the Macy's website and at a poster near the checkout stand. Cool. I ask the employee about the deal and she said the terms do not apply. No further explanation, merely "The deal does't work here." The strange thing was that I went there yesterday and received the deal at check-out with no hassle. I attempted to pull up the Macy's website to show her the deal to which she rejected to see. I then tried to explain to her that I was there yesterday and I was able to receive the deal. She adamantly said that the deal was not applicable. I left the store, walked around the Valley Plaza mall, and on my way back to my car I passed by Macy's and out of curiosity I decided to go back to the skincare department to ask a different employee about the deal, to which she told me that it is in fact applicable in store and she promptly asked if I needed help. So to the girl with the heavily overdrawn, thick eyebrows: maybe take less time filling in your eyebrows next time and instead devote a few minutes to read the sales deals and policies in your department. The minimum employment qualification at Macy's is a high school diploma or equivalent right? I'm sure you will have no trouble reading and understanding those policies. You got this. I normally only make online purchases, but tonight I needed to go to the Clinique counter. There was a sales person already helping a customer when I walked up and another was putting make up on another customer. So I waited patiently. No one acknowledged that I was even there. When the sales person was done ringing up the customer she left the Clinique counter and went to the Lancôme counter to help a customer who had just walked up. I walked out of Macy's and went to Ulta Beauty to get my Clinique products. Will not be going back to store...will stick to online purchases. Very bad customer service... read more

I went to Macys in particular the Estee Lauder section to buy my wife some perfume. When I got there I was only 1 of two at the counter and they had 2 ladies working. One lady was wrapping gifts and then the other lady started wrapping and pretty much ignored me. I waited for quite awhile and asked if one of them could help me. I was told they were wrapping and as soon as they were done they would get to me. I said ok and waited. at that time 2 more ladies came to work and by then some more people came up. They went straight to the new customers and I said I was next and they ignored me. Then the first lady had finished her wrapping and she had told me she would get to me when she was done. She went straight to a new person and ignored me again. I said i was next and one of the other ladies said they would be with me. I was just about to walk out when one of the other ladies came up to me and asked what I wanted. I asked for a bottle of white linen and they said they would check and I waited and waited and then they said sorry we dont have any and didnt offer up any of the gift packs that I saw they had. All I can think about why they ignored me and by 4 different workers is because I had my Veteran hat on and I feel they were biased against Veterans. It was very obvious that they were ignoring me on purpose. Anyway I will never go back to that store and will pass this along to all my veteran buddies. I went in here for an interview with a lady who was very rude! I had just moved to Bakersfield looking for a job and had accidentally threw most of my nice clothing away. I wore a nice outfit still and she basically told me I wasn't dressed for the Macy's name. :( I told her I would buy more clothes once I got the job. She then proceeded to ask me questions that I answered to the best of my ability and she would scoff at all my answers as if she was making fun of me for what I was saying. All in all I was very dissapointed and if this is how the staff is I would never want to work here in the first place and I probably will not go back. read more

When we ordered a mattress, the employee entered the incorrect squ number. Wrong mattress was delivered. We called Macy's and told them we had the wrong mattress. They saw their error and delivered the correct mattress a week later and took away the wrong one. They said we will get our service call money back that day. It's been over a month, 3 phones calls, lots of promises to correct this & return our money and still no money. read more

This Macy's is quite embarrassing for a Macy's. I think the latest renovation occurred at the early years of the Clinton administration. Other than this store being as modern and upscale as a typical Dollar Tree, the selection isn't that bad. There aren't many designer brands though. You'll have to drive elsewhere for the fancy stuff. Perhaps they don't like selling it due to pilferage? I wouldn't doubt that, as this location isn't what I would consider safe. read more

Mac makeup counter bad service period. I feel like im at a meat market waving my hands to get help next. The employees walk back and forth hundred times but never ask if anyone needs help or who was next. They need a better coordination. Went in on a Saturday and everything went fairly smoothly for our wild Macy's adventure. As we were walking through fragrance my friend found something she wanted to grab... Went up to a lovely associate, Maria, who decided to whip around rudely and tell us to go away because she was closed. The sheer horror in my face could've said it all. I have never had such terrible customer service. It usually takes a lot to get me upset, but the fact that she had little to no care about the customers just caught me dumfounded. I won't be going back to this Macy's for a while. Definitely not how I expect employees to react at a store such as that. read more

I love hitting up Macy's Impulse Store. It's like a boutique within a department store. I never find anything I like if I venture out in to the other departments. I love Impulse because it features little known fabulous designers alongside the greats like one of my faves Rachel Roy or the limited time collections by the famed Karl Lagerfeld or the soon to be Giambattista Valli. I might sometimes spend a little more but I never end up disappointed with the quality or uniqueness of the piece. read more

I have been a Macy's customer for years. I have always been impressed with their customer service and quality of products. Recently I had an experience that made me love Macy's even more. My Husband bought me a beautiful pearl ring. I wore it all the time, but unfortunately the pearl fell off. I looked everywhere for it, but unfortunately I didn't find it. There's a older white woman in the men's section with dirty blonde hair and Chinese bangs that was so nice and friendly!! She helped my fiancé find the perfect dinner outfit with my parents and even suggest that I try these shoes she thought I would like. I ended up getting everything!! Excellent sales woman!!
