Melissa is absolutely worth the 5 stars! I was referred to her through a friend for my very first Brazilian wax before leaving for Las Vegas. Walking into the salon, I was so nervous but Melissa was incredibly friendly and sweet. She provides all first time customers with a goodie bag and gives thorough instructions to avoid ingrown hairs. Not going to lie, its incredibly awkward meeting someone for the first time and having them look down there, but Melissa reassured me that she was used to it and it didn't bother her (she even made a joke that waxing girls was wayyy better than waxing guys, which made me laugh). During the actual waxing process, she coached me on breathing techniques and explained each step along the way. I'm new to the Bay Area and went to Melissa for a Brazilian wax after reading the reviews here, and I'm so glad I did. The reviews do not lie. Not only did she know what she was doing, she was extremely friendly and reassuring. I was given a kit with care products and information on why and how to use them. A Brazilian wax will hurt, and she talked me through some breathing techniques that helped. Her technique is really good, and it really does minimise pain. Melissa refused a tip stating that she would prefer new customers to have a good experience and return to her if they liked the service, instead of leaving a tip! Overall, great service. Awesome Service! I used to get my face waxed at another place and always used to end up with a bright red ugly face for the entire rest of the day. When Melissa waxed my face, she used wax that is not harsh on my skin. The wax can be pulled off easily without using strips of cloth. After getting waxed I am still able to face the world without feeling embarrassed. Actually I felt beautiful and clean after my wax with her. Melissa was fantastic. Heard of her through my sister who spoke about how nice her Brazilian wax felt and I was skeptical.... Hot wax in the crotch did not sound like something that could be really awesome but I was feeling adventurous and thought, "why not?" The idea of not having to shave again and no more in grown hairs sounded like it could be worth the pain. So I got the number from my sister and she told me Melissa can schedule through text which makes things less awkward for a first timer like me. She responded within the hour and got me in for the time and day I wanted. Seemed easy enough. She even sent me a reminder via email which always helps. Fast forward to the appointment day and she is located in Jenny's Salon and was easily located. She greeted me with a smile and brought me back. She then told me what was to happen and the breathing technique I needed to follow. I thought it would be very strange to bare all to a random person but she made me feel super comfortable and the pain wasn't even as bad as I had originally thought.
