Good response and communication. Great job with concrete work! Reasonable quote. Easy to work with and flexible.

My fiancé and I tried DIY but failed miserably and the yard looked bad for a long time until we turned to Yelp. Compared to other contractors, these guys had the most competitive quotes. Two weeks later, the work they've done to our backyard was phenomenal and I appreciate their openness to adjust and add-on anytime; I admit to being a difficult customer. Thank you Adan and Edwin for your hard work, professionalism and patience in creating our dream yard. read more

I like this guy, Adan. He quoted me $11,000 for 400sq ft paver job with out seeing the property and digging into details. I think He figured how much he should charge the zip code. he said its a flat fee. I hired him on the spot and willing to give him 11k in cash before he starts the job. read more

Adan and his team exceeded all our expectations on an extremely complex job. In a time when contractors are in such demand and availability is so limited, we were stunned when the day after we gave Adan the ok, he showed up at 8AM with a crew of seven men, all seemingly experts in all things building. Our project required an existing garage to be lifted two feet in the air, demolition of the existing slab, and then pouring of a new foundation and slab. Our requirements were excessive (24 inch reinforced foundation and an ultimate structural "lift" of 12 inches... Adan and his crew made it look easy. Adan's initial estimate was dead-on, and when we asked him to make some additional modifications, he adjusted the bid very quickly and completed the job at the quoted cost. How often does THAT happen?! We are currently working with Adan on two other projects, including a stucco job and a new driveway - can't wait to be blown away again. read more

Macro Design & Building Services was able to provide a competitive quote within 24 hours of my Yelp Project being posted. They utilized the measurements I provided and the photos that I provided. They were very responsive via the Yelp application/texting and returned messages within 15 minutes of each message. All messages were direct and professional. I did not use Macro Design & Building Services because I was able to secure a similar price with a contractor that was able to send out a representative to the job site within three hours of my Yelp Project being posted. read more

Highly recommend!! Adan and team were amazing! We asked them to help us with a dog run and with some fences and doors. They were extremely responsive and open and collaborative, and they also gave us a reasonable price very close to the initial quote. read more

Adan and his team did a great job on our side yard. They were able to transform a largely unusable 500sqft strip with uneven surfaces, steep slopes, and exposed wiring into a dog haven for our two golden retrievers, all for a very reasonable price! They made sure to do the job correctly and were very open to feedback and requests. Macro Design's estimates were spot on (barring minor adjustments due to additional work we added along the way). They also built us three custom doors and accompanying fences. They even fixed some lighting and sprinklers that weren't working. Highly recommend! read more

Macro design was great! I had them pour a concrete slab with rebar in an unfinished section of my basement-- I never would have thought I would use the word "beautiful" describe concrete but my new slab is really quite beautiful and beautifully done. They gave me the best quote out of several others, they were fast, always responded quickly no matter when and they cleaned up so well afterwards, it actually looks better/cleaner than before they were there! They truly went above and beyond and I actually am hoping to use them for a few other projects soon (deck work, another concrete slab and walkway, backyard unit/she-shed with electrical, and who knows what else!) --as they say (a direct quote) "We do it ALL!" I'm looking forward to working with them in the near future! I recommend you give them a shot! read more

I contracted Adan at Marco Design build a very complex and difficult retaining wall in my backyard. The project was complicated by the fact that the existing wood retaining wall had to be removed and there was an existing structure sitting above the old wall. Adan gave me a great price for the work and did an incredible job. Although, he ran into many hidden problems, he executed the work beautifully and the finished wall is perfect. I was a General Contractor for years and have managed construction my entire career so I know good work from bad. They did a terrific job and I highly recommend them!! Greg C read more

I needed to pour concrete out on my back patio, this company responded right away gave an honest quote, sent someone to confirm the job was described accurately, scheduled a time (8am) and day (Saturday), arrived 7:45am and finished the job ahead of schedule. Adan, Edwin, Victor and their whole team did a great job on our big backyard project. We had a wrap around deck built for the area around our above ground pool. They went above and beyond giving their expert opinions on function, form and efficiency but were very responsive to our opinions and requests as well. They completed it faster than expected and for a better price than all other quotes we got for this job. We're very happy with the results. Super appreciative! read more

Edwin and Adan organized a wonderful and hardworking team who delivered a wonderful job a week ahead of schedule with a very reasonable price. They were super responsive and usually replied our requests within a day or two. We had a big project, over 1,500 square ft of concrete work, 4 drainages, 90 ft long of fencing and an artificial turf. The crew was here on the job every day from 8:-8:30am until 4:30pm. Initial estimate was 3 weeks but they finished in two weeks! Haven't seen any construction team who could finish a job ahead of schedule. Also they honored the cost estimate on the contract with no added cost in between. The team also did a thorough clean up after finishing. Our front yard now looks nice and clean. Overall we are very happy with job and will call them back again for other landscaping job! read more

Adan and his team provided amazing value for their services. I had them replace about 35' of sagging bring retaining wall on a steep slope with new pressure-treated lumber construction. (pictures are posted on his Yelp page). The team was on time every day, kept in regular communication around the project, moved nimbly around unforeseen complications, and went out of their way to be transparent about costs. Adan treats his team with respect, and I really appreciated that they cleared their work space daily. I would absolutely work with Adan and Marco Design again, and have already spoken with them about taking on additional projects in the months to come. Overall, this was a great experience! read more

Good work, very responsive and fair pricing. Happy with the results and Adan was terrific!

Great experience with Adan and Edwin. We had a very long fence and a ton of ivy to remove. Adan's team took out everything, dug out the ivy roots, placed a ground barrier, built a beautiful fence AND painted it. Very professional, from providing a detailed estimate to the cleaning up the site everyday. Although Adan was not always on site, he was always available by phone to work out small changes -- very responsive and reasonable. Totally recommend Macro Design! read more

Reached out on Yelp to see if they could help with my project. They responded and we scheduled an appointment. Day of I asked if they were coming. They said it was raining and they were not coming. It's not like they were doing concrete work, this was just to come over and take a look/take some info for a quote. We rescheduled for the next day. Next day I ask to see if they are coming, no response, left my message on read. read more

Adan and his team have helped us out a ton since moving into our home a couple years ago. He has done quite a few projects on our street and I got his referral from a neighbor. These guys have covered a lot of ground including installing steps inside of our house, building beautiful wooden gates to help us secure our property, and installing a retaining wall behind our house to help prevent erosion from happening. After a job is done, Adan will stop by periodically to check on the work and answer any questions we may have. His company depends heavily on word of mouth for finding more work so they're always motivated to do a great job. Also, the bids that Adan gave us for each project consistently came in under the estimates of the other contractors that we were considering. Adan himself is a wonderful, humble guy who takes pride in his work. I'm looking forward to doing more projects with him. read more

TLDR: they're cheap but so unreliable that you might never get the job done to pay them and they don't seem to care any that. Completely unreliable. They didn't show up multiple times for the consult, but when they did the price was right. This should have been my first sign. It was a completely confusing process to get this set up. Then when we did agree date and time to start they moved it. No problem we're flexible. Then the guys showed up they waited outside the house. My husband went outside twice to have them come in but they indicated they were waiting for someone. Then they just left!! When I called the one person I had info for they said "we didn't open the door"??? I'm not even sure what this means. Why did no one call me? Anyway now the guys are at another job and they definitely won't be coming back to our house. Complete waste of time. read more

Per the request from Mr. Adan Choc, the owner of Macro Design & Building Services, I am giving his company the fair review as follow: I have hired Macro Design & Building Services for the following 3 projects: 1. Built a 42' X 3 1/2' X 8" retaining wall with a 42' X 36" X 18" foundation plus 3 12" X 2' round piers. On top of the retaining wall, built a 42' X 5 1/2' redwood fence. Warranty time: 7 years. To reinforce the strength of the retaining wall and foundation 3,000lb concrete and #4, #5 rebars were used. After the completion of the construction, 42' X 5' insulation sheet was installed on to the retaining wall and foundation to protect the construction. On the top of the insulation sheet, 3 inches of gravels and 42' X 6" French pipes was installed for the drainage. Starting date: 2/10/2024 completion date: 2/23/2024 Satisfaction: A+ Reasoning: Perfect job. 2. Built a 32' X 2 1/2' X 8" retaining wall with a 32' X 32" X 18" foundation plus 3 12" X 2' round piers. On top of the retaining wall, built a 32' X 5 1/2' redwood fence. Warranty time: 7 years. To reinforce the strength of the retaining wall and foundation 3,000lb concrete and #4, #5 rebars were used. After the completion of the construction, 32' X 4' insulation sheet was installed on to the retaining wall and foundation to protect the construction. On the top of the insulation sheet, 3 inches of gravels and 32' X 6" French pipes was installed for the drainage. Starting date: 3/17/2024 completion date: 4/2/2024 Satisfaction: A Reasoning: 1) The depth of the foundation was only 1' deep, 6" shorter of the standard 18" depth. 2) Due to the heavy rain, one of the piers was filled with sand and the screw dug it back to only 16" deep, 8" shorter of the 24" deep hole as it should be. 3. Paved a 23' X 20' stamped concrete patio Plus two 11' X 9' and 11' X 7' stamped concrete in 2 entry areas. Warranty time: 7 years. 2 inches of gravel was paved as the bottom foundation of the patio. On top of the gravel, #3 rebars were laid every 12" X 12". 3,000lb concrete was used for the construction of the patio. Starting date: 2/23/2024 completion date: 2/28/2024 Satisfaction: A Reasoning: Due to the nature of the concrete, there is an about 4' long hairline curved crack. Per the suggestion from Adan since the crack line is very fine at this moment, nothing needs to be done, he will come back to repair it when the crack line widens. Overall review: 1. The work team: All the members of the team were working very hard and efficiently every day starting from 7:45am until 4:30pm. Starting from the demolition to the cleaning up they did a great job. Satisfaction: A+ Reasoning: Working hard, working efficiently and they have a great working attitude. 2. The company owner: Mr. Adan Choc is an honest business man. He delivered quality products did not cut the quality of material short and completes all the projects on time. Satisfaction: A Reasoning: Mr. Choc could do better if he could keep the depth of the foundation to 18" deep in the 2nd projects. 3. The protection of homeowner's property: 1) The members of the team kept the work site clean and no smoking on the job. 2) Some of the members were not careful enough, they made some damages to the property. If I am not able to fix them it will cost me about $400 to replace them. 3) The cement truck left some concrete traces on my side yard. This colored stain is now very solid and is impossible to remove them. Satisfaction: C Reasoning: As stated above this company have some room for improvement. 4. Conclusion: After all the above observation and judgments, I am giving the company an A satisfaction grade. read more

The reason why I only gave 2 stars is because the stars are based upon the business and integrity of this Co. my appraiser Cruz was very professional an attentive to my needs of a wrought Iron fence and brick pillars however his measurements were 30'18 feet .and also a small wrought iron gate ranged his prices were between 12k to 15 k dollar's highest inflated estimate of 3 (WOW) !!! I do not mind paying for what I ask of but NOT being taking advantage of at the same time... I later Thanked MR. Cruz for his time later the Owner a day or so contacted me and stated "Oh look at your New estimate now 9k "! Look this is not the Price is right !!!! Integrity and Honesty will go along way in life and business if someone business make an estimate I want an itemized detailed estimate in WRITING explaining ,Labor ,cost and supplies and possibly and estimated time how long would this job take..just because I'm a Woman doesn't mean I'm Naive ...This Pandemic has really allowed companies to really price gouge!!! read more

Stop looking around, I highly recommend Macro Design & Building Services. Adan, Eddie and team helped me complete 3 projects during the last heavy rain in the weeks of Oct. 24. They were the first to contact me, come to my location, and stuck to the timeline. As you know, getting help for your project is not easy in the Bay Area. Adan and Eddie made managing my projects very easy, cleaning up and securely locking up after every day. They bring their own portapotty. I had one backyard deck demo, one backyard fence, one backyard retaining wall, one backyard flooring, 2 deck stairs support repair, and 2 different roofs to repair in between storms and they did it all under two weeks. Amazing! In my opinion, the work is of commercial quality. If you want to know how to complete your home repair/construction, Adan, Eddie and team can do it. read more

Aden came by to give me a quote, he was very hesitant to give me a detailed written quote that i could use to compare against other quotes. I just wanted a written estimate,, which I never received. I messaged him several times on this app and no response. read more

Our fence god brought down by earlier this year by the storm. During that time, it was super hard to get anyone to come to site for quoting and starting the job soon. After calling bunch of fence people and ending up with their full voice mail, I decided to go on yelp and randomly requesting the quote. Adan was able to reply the message quickly, and come right on our appointment time to measure and understand what we want. Among all the quotes we got, Adan offered a competitive price with super detailed estimation. The group worked efficiently and they did a high quality and decent job. We were pretty happy about the fence. And we also asked Adan to come back to re-do the side door for me. It all turned out nice. read more

I hired Macro Design & Building Services through a Yelp request! I needed to extend the ramp to my driveway by about 5 feet in width. Adan and his team were very professional and thorough. We spoke and planned out the job through a translator and that went very well. My main concern was that the drainage from our backyard dumped out at the driveway ramp. Adan was very creative and helpful when it came to a solution for our concrete ramp with a drainage section including a grate system. Macro Design's prices, work, and professionalism can not be beat. I highly recommend Adan and Macro Designs. I will work with them again. read more

Adan C. was the first person to respond to our request for backyard remodeling. He and his team replaced 50' of cinder block retaining wall with pressure treated lumber. More importantly, the team installed amazing drainage with plastic pipe and gravel, which was not present before. On top of that they constructed a 6' redwood fence and three panels of clear plexiglass to allow for a view. They also did extra work to make things 'correct', like replacing the stairway on our deck, pouring a new concrete patio, and step from our deck. As others have stated, the team shows up on time and they work incredibly hard! Each person knows what to do without any discussion. They have a system of working together that is seamless. Also, Adan is a great person to work with, he makes things 'right'! Very reliable. We cannot thank you enough and feel so lucky to have found you and your company.
