From the outset, Jose provided a reasonable quote and was exceptionally clear in explaining the project scope and process. The final result was stunning. The attention to detail was remarkable, ensuring both safety and aesthetic appeal. The stairs are not only functional but also a beautiful addition to our property. I am thoroughly pleased with the quality of work and wholeheartedly recommend Jose and his team for any construction needs.

This involved tearing down stucco on two floors, replacing the damaged wood, installing new windows, adding insulation, and generally rebuilding the front side of my home to code. Jose was helpful every step of the way. The estimate was fair and the project did not stray from the original estimate. They passed every inspection without any issues and were clearly familiar with the permitting process in SF. They proactively identified issues with my new roof installation and replacement windows. Addressing these issues delayed the project, but ensured that the work they were doing wouldn't be compromised. There was also an area of damage that was not identifiable until the walls were torn down. Luckily, Jose had warned me ahead of time that this was possible, and the change order was reasonable. All the workers were respectful when entering my home and knowledgable in their craft. I asked many questions along the way and they took the time to help address any concerns I had. Thank you to Johnny and Zen who handled the carpentry work and Mariano and Benjamin who handled the painting! I would not hesitate to hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone considering a similar project.

The custom vanity and door in my bathroom were not primed and the paint is chipping off with barely a touch. The paint job on my kitchen cabinets was deplorable. The paint bubbled and chipped almost immediately. When I questioned them about it, they blatantly told me there was no issue and blew me off. These are not the only issues I had with them, but they are something I have to look at every day. Also, they were very threatening when I didn't want to pay the balance because of these issues (in addition to a major floor issue which I have since had repaired). Beware!

Aaron was able to correctly diagnose the likely source of the lead and the remediation plan. Their estimate was accurate and they completed the work in a timely and correct fashion. Of the many contractors we contacted, Mylett Construction was far and away the most responsive and most willing to work within the scope of project we had in mind. We had no experience replacing an entryway, so Jimmy walked us through the process of selecting all the options that were available to us. He was very patient and understanding as we navigated our convoluted HOA approval process. The planning and preparation process took longer than normal due to the COVID pandemic, but Jimmy did an excellent job of updating us on the project status and the COVID related delays in the production of our door. He was also extremely attentive in ensuring that the door stain was exactly the color we wanted. When the door and hardware were ready, Jimmy made sure that everything was prepared for installation day. The door, side window and trim were efficiently and seamlessly installed in less than a day (much to the relief of my wife who was worried the project would drag on for weeks). The crew arrived on time, followed all public health precautions, and left a spotless worksite when they were finished. Their attention to detail was outstanding; the door closes perfectly; the trim nicely matches what was previously there. Jim was extremely responsive to our request for one minor modification once the project was almost complete. The final product looks great! Overall, we had an outstanding experience with Mylett Construction and would highly recommend them. They are very responsive, friendly, hardworking, and clearly hold themselves to a very high standard. We plan on giving Jim and Jimmy a call the next time we need a general contractor!

Yosi excels in customer satisfaction, he always made sure I was happy with the results and he was always willing to help and solve problems when I was not satisfied. That to me was the most important thing. I provided the design and they made sure the result was better than the 3D renders! They recommended great suppliers which gave me good prices, and made it easy for me to buy materials and pick them up for me. The project took a bit longer than expected: 5 months, instead of 4 that was projected. Some of this was in part for material not arriving on time, but there were also some things that could have been sped up from his side too. Overall the result was fantastic: high quality with a lot of attention to detail, great customer service and communication, and like I said, customer satisfaction is their first priority.

We…read morewere remodeling a kitchen which required removing a wall and eliminating an adjacent room, opening up a doorway for better flow to another room, and also replacing our roof, adding skylights, and replacing a bedroom window. We read reviews and interviewed three contractors. We asked questions and did our diligence, and we liked all three contractors. However, Yonis was the only person to share a vision for what he saw happening to the space - which aligned with our vision without us telling him. Yonis' proposal were the best we received. We met once more to discuss how we would work together and signed a contract. From there he started work almost immediately. Yonis is professional, has a warm sense of humor, and most importantly, fair. After reading a lot of horror stories and having our guard up regarding shortcut taking contractors, it was a relief to talk to someone honest and transparent with us throughout the process. His crew was respectful of our home and we had a good relationship with several of them. A couple of them did us a favor of fixing a non-closing door for no charge, helping us move furniture that had nothing to do with the project, and otherwise just be good people. No project is perfect, so when there were issues or concerns, he made sure to remedy them immediately. Since we lived in the house every day of the construction process, and since this was our first large home renovation, we were hyper organized and spoke to Yonis almost every day. We wanted our vision executed well, so we always maintained a discerning eye, and he expected us to let him know if we had questions or needed explanation as to how or why something was being done. At times given other projects they had, it did require us bugging Yonis a bit more, but he always did right by us, the customer. There was never a point where we felt like we were not getting a clear answer. Yonis also stayed with our budget and anything that came up through the project was always a fair pricing discussion with options for the work that needed to be done (fixing a pipe that wasn't in the original scope). Projects like this require dozens of decisions, and so if we had one critique, it would be to know further in advance what decisions we would have to make. We like to research, and we had a design aesthetic we wanted to maintain, so a longer lead time for decisions would have been optimal for us. So, the more you know about what you want, how you want it, and where, the easier it will be. You should be your own project manager no matter who you hire. We have since worked with K&B on a number of projects and have recommended him to other friends and family.

It is a complex job involving a variety of skills--carpentry, finish carpentry and stucco. Yonis and his team at K&B did a great job. We would definitely hire them again. A couple of high points: they did the job promptly. Unlike some of the other projects around the neighborhood, they didn't start with a bang and then limp across the finish line weeks later. They worked every day from start to finish, arrived on time and all of the workers were always courteous. They worked cleanly--each day and each tradesman cleaned up when their work was finished. There were no piles of trash around the yard! They showed great respect for our home, yard and all of the materials (those doors weren't cheap!). Yonis is a good communicator who keep us appraised of who was coming and when, and if something changed, he let us know. The job was done on time, on budget and Yonis and I could shake hands at the end and be friends--the sure sign of a good experience. Highly recommended.

Sadly, the third time has ended poorly and Fernando has been unresponsive for over a month on a botched job he did for us in November. Now, this repeat customer is being forced to take F-I to small claims court to resolve our issues. It's incredibly disappointing given what a nice guy Fernando is.

We hired Fernando in November to fabricate and install kitchen counter tops, as well as a tub deck…read moreand riser, all cut out of the same slab. We bought this slab only after verifying with him that he could do it at a reasonable price. In my initial conversation with him we talked about an under-mounter farmhouse sink as well as an under-mounted tub. We then had a cabinet delay of three months. When Fernando came in April to template he said that he did not know the tub was to be under-mounted and that it would be a bit extra to finish the inside edge. We thought that would be minor. He took our deposit and cashed the check. He then sent a revised estimate for 25% more than his original one. We balked a bit and asked for an explanation and he said that the original estimate did not include the under-mounted sink or the under-mounted tub, even though that was in my original email to him. He also refused to do the job (at any price). I strongly suspect that what really happened is that he realized that he couldn't do the job with only one slab given the cutting tools he has... We then had to find a new fabricator. This was challenging because Fernando (and Pietra Fina, who we bought the slab from and who recommended Fernando) refused to transport the slab. (As a side issue, I believe there is some funny business going on between the two.) Fernando also decided to lie about us to fabricators who were thinking about taking the job. Several of them mentioned the things he said and we only overcame this by showing them our entire set of correspondence with him (which was almost exclusively via email). He also did not want to be present when I came with the new fabricator to pick up the slab and actually tried to refuse to let me come to pick up my own materials. This is all particularly odd given that we really liked Fernando and may well have proceeded with him, despite the hefty price hike. The saga continued even after we got the slab back (in decent condition). Fernando, when he refused to proceed with us, said he would give us back $1000 of our $1200 deposit, with $200 being his charge for templating (on a contract that he walked away from). Nearly three weeks after he said he would return the $1000, he still had not, so I wrote to him and had to ask him to send the money. I also asked him to return the other $200, since he was the one who broke our contract. He did send a check for $1000, but at this point we're probably going to have to file a CSLB complaint. What a mess. My advice to others is simply to avoid him... unless of course you're into drama and/or bait & switch.
