I had Fencepro replace part of my fence and retaining wall in 2010. I never got any type of warranty from them and after 6-7 years the fence/retaining wall started to lean. When I called and left a message a receptionist replied back that there should have been a warranty. There wasn't any with the original contract that we signed. I recently called them up and mentioned the I did not know about the 10 year warranty and it's now 15 years later. I spoke with Fencepro owner and he told me that even if I had a warranty it was the material that went bad. Since I hired another contractor and who incidentally just had finished a similar fence on the other side of our house that has both a fence and a longer retaining wall which lasted more than 30 years. It was built with some thought and ingenuity that FencePro lacks. They put in a simple system to drain the water to the street and put plastic on the posts just above and below ground to help protect the wood. They realize that wood easily rots when they get wet! When they removed the posts there was minimal wear on the 30 year old posts. On the side Fencepro did, the wood was completely rotten since no other measures were were take to insure its longevity. They may do a job quickly, but I believe they lack expertise in building quality retaining walls. I recommend that you find someone who ismore qualified, and is quality conscienous that knows how to build and make a lasting retaining wall! Below are my pictures. Judge for yourself! read more

If you have a job to do this is the company Dale and Tim extremely helpful in the planning and execution of the project and showed up on site during the job. Cannot complement the five man crew on the job highly enough, at least 10 stars. Crew arrived as scheduled and immediately started work, some setting up others removing the old fence, each man knew his job. Even working in a 5 X 40ft space they preformed like a professional team each man moving and working without getting in each others way, at the end of the day cleanup with brooms and blower. Fair price and a discount, however given some of the difficulties, old concrete and moving dirt, this was a bargain. read more

All the contractors that responded were very helpful. Some quotes were from flat rates. Most were from on site visits. I gained valuable knowledge on fence repairs and California rules on shared costs. I was able to get the adjacent property to share the responsibility for the repairs. And in doing so they agreed to cover all of the work, being they are contractors themselves. Now I'm just waiting for them to have the time to get the work done. This is the second time I've worked with Fence Pro and they remain a high quality vendor and are experts about al things fences, decks and anything with wood. About ten years ago, they helped build a fence on either side of our home and we were very pleased. On that project, they ensured that both neighbors were happy with the final product and because of their wonderful work, the neighbor ended up using them to complete a new deck off of their bedroom. They just completed a beautiful deck off of our dining room a few weeks ago and it came out gorgeous! The owner Tim Garcia and his assistant Luke came out to provide a quote on June 30th. We found we had a lot in common so after some discussion about the work I received a quote on July 25th and since we hit it off we chose this company. Working with the owner was a nightmare once we got started, he nickled and dimed us for things he forgot to put in the quote even his assistant confirmed we had discussed the work.. I asked for pictures of a retaining wall and his assistant sent them, including Tim on the email, during the quote process. When it came down to the finished product it looked totally different than what was sent to me. I brought this up and Tim had a fit telling me that is not what he quoted and the picture was custom work. I explained to him that based on the pictures that is what I agreed to, it took a good 15 mins of back and forth but he finally agreed to complete it the way it was presented. The biggest part was all they had to do was add about 9 more slabs of wood to the front to solve the issue, I don't know why he had to fly off the handle. Anyways, overall I would not deal with this company or recommend them based on the owner. The best thing they could do is let his Son or someone else take over. Every aspect of my experience went very well. I had a small ramp to replace, such a small job that I wondered if any business would bother. FencePro person on the phone was very pleasant, the estimator was courteous and asked lots of questions regarding the details - and answered mine. It was very easy to continue conversations on email, and they always responded very quickly. Juan, the foreman of the 2-man crew, and Marcello were very hard workers - came on time, worked hard all day, and kept the area picked up overnight. Juan checked in with me on details along the way (e.g., difference between what I had before and what they typically do - which do I prefer?), and explained the framing to me. Love my new fence. They did two sides of my yard. Total of about 70 foot of fence. The guys were all awesome; Steve and his crew were extremely professional, methodical, cleaned up after themselves, fast, listened to my requests and smiled the whole time, too. Like another reviewer said, they seem to actually enjoy their work. A number of the bad reviews tent to relate to the bid part - I had no issues with that either. Everything went smoothly. Horrible experience. After my initial payment I didn't hear back from anyone so I emailed to follow up. Tim apologized and said materials would be ordered and come in the following week. Six weeks go by and I contact them again wondering what the delay is. They deliver the fence materials and it's the wrong style. Once they actually began constructing the fence the concrete for the posts were really sloppy and they started building they fence at the wrong height. I immediately called them and told them the fence was a foot higher than the County municipal code allows for a front yard fence. They got defensive and responsed that "they couldn't be expected to know all the codes in all the cities." After they fixed the height and completed the job they tried to charge me an additional $387 for removal of the dirt from the post holes. The fence ended up looking alright, but what a headache dealing with all these problems. read more

I wouldn't hire FencePro again. Good news: a functional fence is in place, but it's not pretty. Bad news: 1. Job was scheduled to be done in 1 day; it took 3, including a Sunday. 2. Thank goodness my neighbor pointed out to me that a retaining wall would be necessary - missed by the estimator. This cost $800 more than the original estimate. 3. On the day that FencePro finished the fence, I immediately contacted the owner, Tim Garcia, to let him know that the fence height was not consistent with the old fence and my expectations and sent him photos. He assured me that he would contact me in 4 days, after he spoke with his foreman. He called me 11 days later. 4. Tim and his foreman came to my home to try to resolve the issue. It was an unpleasant conversation during which Tim didn't listen well, raised his voice and spoke over me. At which point, I asked him to leave and told him I'd hire another fence company to resolve the issue, as I didn't want to pay FencePro another dime. read more

I called these guys to come out and give us a bid for a barbed wire fence in the parking lot at the non-profit I work at. They assured me theyd be there at noon- at 1:30 they rolled up- understandable right? sure- but they kept stringing me along on the phone so that i stood outside for a frickin hour! lateness is one thing, bullshit is another. They said the bid would be out within a day or so. i call them 3 days later to ask where it is. They string me along again. 3 or four days later i finally get it. I also get a sad story of multiple deaths in the family- I am human and that sounds awful- why not just let me know a realistic day to expect things. Finally the bid comes- 13,000 for a job i have subsequently gotten done for 3200 (3200 from a licensed fence company). I guess they were hoping Id be some old lady who doesnt know how bad shes getting ripped off and has money to burn or a credit card to weigh down. I love the fence, but the service was terrible. On the day they were supposed to install our fence, they called to reschedule saying we weren't on the calendar after I had confirmed. So we had to wait another week to get the fence put in. The staff worked slowly, took a long lunch and started wrapping up at 4:00 when there was plenty that could have been done. Because I was satisfied with the result of the fence, I called to get an estimate for a fence in our front yard. I should have known better because they didn't show-up, and said we weren't on their schedule when I called to see if they were coming. Bottom line - good work, bad service/scheduling. read more

They gave us a competitive bid on replacing our deck railing and did a great job. They removed the old rotted wood and replaced with new on the same day. It was unpainted and it took me a few weeks to get that done on my own. Some weeks later they came to repair some fenceposts and again did a great job. They came when they said they would come, did the work as promised, cleaned up after word. Workmanship is top notch. I would not hesitate to call them again at any time. read more

I requested a quote for a client 3 weeks ago. The process of setting up the appointment was pretty simple and they were able to get out to the home in a few days. The contractor said his name was Arturo. He showed up about an hour late to the appointment. We had talked about what I was looking for. I received the quote almost 3 weeks later. The quote was for a pocket fence which was not what I was looking for. When I reached out and let him know the quote was not what I asked for, his tone was condescending and he just kept saying he was busy. I hate giving bad reviews for Latino business owners but bad service is bad service. Being busy is not an excuse for lowering your service standard. When I let him know I didn't want to waste any more time repeating myself and then waiting, he said I was doing him a favor. As a busy Realtor, I'm always looking to work with reliable, service oriented contractors and unfortunately FencePro will not be on that list. My childhood principal received better service but that was prepandemic. A lot of businesses have lowered their service level since then... this is definitely one of them! read more

They came out for an estimate I asked for 3 separate estimates for 3 different projects. I was very clear they were 3 different estimates. I selected Fencepro for one of the jobs, signed their contract (with no mention that the price was contingent on anything, it was an a stand alone estimate/contract), and sent them my check. There were several phone calls and emails clarifying what I needed. I then emailed them the day before the project was to start to ask when they would arrive.; I was told the estimate was only good if I took all the projects. I asked for my check back. The most unprofessional company I have dealt with in a long time, it felt like a bait and switch. Update; I had the fence installed by another fence company for almost the same price (a few dollars less). Too bad this company appears so poorly managed they can't make money on competitive quotes. read more

They genuinely seem like good people that want to do high-quality work and make you happy. They made sure that my wife and I were fully satisfied with the project. They did everything in their power to answer our questions and make sure they were doing exactly what we wanted. My wife is very particular (read: high-maintenance) so I'm happy we got the level of service that we did. There were a few times where my wife and I had a bit of a freak-out and the Fencepro team were great about jumping on our concerns and doing everything they could to fix the issue. As it turned out, our fears were false alarms and nothing needed to happen. But still, Fencepro answered our calls after hours, showed up early, and were there to help and make sure we had a good experience. How this company gets an A+ is a mystery to me. Met with the owner to discuss our requirements. I asked for an estimate and that was the last I heard from them. I've practically begged for one and have received no response at all. If they're this bad getting the job, it doesn't give much faith in their ability to do the work. We decided to use FencePro, since you are in Brisbane, we have family in Brisbane, we Trusted you. The fence looked nice, we did not think we had to check your work, quality of installation- to see if the posts were really set in concrete, we Trusted you.  A few years later, the fence has fallen down; the posts were installed directly in the ground, not set in concrete.  Your estimator Dale came out to confirm the poor quality work and the posts were not set in concrete. We were surprised when we received an estimate $1,083.75, which includes concrete and labor for which we have already paid for, yet the work was not done, asking to pay twice for work that should have been completed at the time the fence was built by your company FencePro. Your scheduler Ali emailed and called, the morning of February 19, to let us know someone would be out to repair the fence between 11-1pm - no show-no call - I called your cell phone and your office, I have not received a return telephone call. We are very disappointed in the lack of quality of work, several telephone calls, texts and e-mail messages - nothing.
