We had a monster tree that caused pretty significant damage to our deck. We wanted to cut down the tree, repair the deck, and then install an aluminum pergola. From my perspective it was a pretty complicated job. From the start Enrique was honest, communicative, and did a great job explaining what was possible. When it came time to do the work, his team did it in the time promised and their work was excellent quality with great attention to detail (and the price was reasonable). I appreciated how Enrique kept me informed each step of the way and laid out the different options. The end product was outstanding and we are so happy that Enrique and his team were able to leave us with a beautiful deck and shade structure. It was clear from the start that he took pride in his work and wanted to do a great job. I would definitely recommend them! read more

We had a fantastic experience with MTZ Modern Carpentry. Enrique and his team built (replaced existing) three beautiful decks using TimberTech materials, and the quality of the work is outstanding. The decks look amazing and were clearly built with great attention to detail. The entire team was professional, punctual, and easy to work with. Communication was clear throughout the project, expectations were met, and the job site was always kept clean. It's clear they take pride in their craftsmanship. If you're looking for high-quality deck work and a reliable, professional crew, I highly recommend MTZ Modern Carpentry. We would absolutely hire them again. read more

Enrique and team did a great job of installing a small deck for the front of our house. Even though it was not a large job, I appreciate how much thought and detail they put into the project. As someone who got 9 other estimates, I can proudly say Enrique was the most knowledgable, communicative, and friendly person to come and take a look. The team definitely takes pride in their work, and I'm glad that they were a part of making our house into a home. Good, honest work at a good, honest price. I would not hesitate to recommend Enrique and team for future projects. read more

Enrique and his crew did an awesome job reinforcing my overhead patio cover! He even did some extra work on his own without charging me more -- that really shows his honesty and pride in his work. He's super easy to talk to, kept me updated the whole time, and explained what to expect so there were no surprises. You can tell he really knows his stuff and thinks ahead. The patio cover looks great, everything feels solid, and the quality of the work is excellent. I highly recommend Enrique to anyone who wants the job done right! I'm already planning to have him back next spring for another home improvement project! read more

From start to finish, Enrique was professional, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. I've never felt better about investing in my home. Our front porch steps were severely in need of repair. The flagstone was falling off the frame and became a hazard for our family and others visiting our home. We had struggled to find others who could meet our budget or were comfortable taking the job. However, Enrique assured us this was well within his skill and experience and that we would be happy with the results. He could not have been more right! Enrique removed the old flagstone, added additional support for the existing frame, and installed beautiful new steps using Trex decking material. He even included exterior lighting! We are thrilled with our new stairs, and his work gives us great confidence in working again with MTZ Modern Carpentry. Thanks again, Enrique! read more

This is a reverse of a previous review I recently submitted for this company under the false assumption they didn't do pergolas. Indeed they do as demonstrated by the owner, Enrique who visited my home earlier today. Not only was he prompt, but he came loaded with a wealth of information & experience in design ideas and photos of past work by MTZ. From what I saw, the finished products look amazing! No contract as of yet, but definitely a top contender for this pergola rebuild job. read more

We recently hired MTZ Modern Carpentry for a deck installation. The company's professionalism and quality of work were impressive. From the initial consultation, Enrique M., the business owner, was informative and responsive. He has great communication skills and a clear estimate for the project was provided. The team started on schedule and finished the work efficiently. The final result is beautiful, sturdy and exactly what was envisioned. I am a designer and very particular about craftsmanship, which is why I was impressed meeting Enrique - I could tell he knows what he is doing. His team wasted no time, running between tasks and working with alacrity along side Enrique. The attention to detail was particularly pleasing. The crew also respected the property and cleaned up thoroughly after completing the job. I highly recommend MTZ for anyone looking for a reliable, skilled and trustworthy contractor. read more

Enrique, MTZ Modern Carpentry, is a trusted partner for your landscape and home modeling needs. He has successfully completed various projects in my project, including building a deck in my backyard, addressing drainage issues in the side aisles, and resolving water-related problems in my crawl spaces during last year's home remodeling. I'm pleased to report that everything remains in excellent condition. Wouldn't be the most luxury, but high-quality work at an affordable price. read more

Enrique and his team are efficient and do high quality work. I would highly recommend them. They saved the day with some flood mitigation work inside and outside our house, and following that they built a friendly neighbor fence (in collaboration with our friendly neighbors :-) ). Enrique in particular is easy to work with, responsive, and eager to ensure his clients are pleased with the outcome, even insisting on redoing certain elements to make sure we loved the end result. On that note, my advice is to engage with Enrique throughout the job so that you're aware of and can give input on any decisions along the way. For big decisions you'll be proactively consulted; for smaller ones, that's where active engagement can prevent potential rework. While maybe not the cheapest, we didn't feel price-gouged despite the rather desperate circumstances (flooding) that led some neighbors to introduce us to Enrique. The friendly neighbor fence was also quite reasonable. Thank you, Enrique! read more

I completely remodeled a home that was badly in disrepair while living in another city three hours away. It was overwhelming for me to think that I needed to find all the right contractors to do the various jobs necessary to complete this remodel. I was then introduced to Enrique and I quickly realized that he was an honest, reliable, trustworthy and hardworking person who never failed providing me with high quality work. I hired him for the entire project, including putting in a new kitchen, new bathrooms, and windows. In addition, he listened well and cooperated with all of my style designs and he even gave me fantastic style ideas which I definitely used. He's got quite an eye for detail! This was priceless for me because I didn't have to be on the job site like I thought I needed to be, in fact, I could only come on weekends, which Enrique was kind enough to accommodate me. The house turned out beautifully thanks to Enrique and his hardworking crew. and he relieved me of so much stress, and not to mention increasing the property value by double. I'm so proud of the project that Enrique did for me. I highly recommend him for any project and would definitely call him back for my next project!!! Linda read more
