I recently hired C&J Landscape Service to replace my backyard drainage system after the existing drain, which was nearly 28 years old, stopped functioning properly. From the beginning, Cris was professional, responsive, and knowledgeable. He returned my call promptly and came out within a few days to provide an estimate. He took the time to thoroughly inspect the problem, explain the recommended solution, and answer all of my questions. The proposal was detailed, easy to understand, and very reasonably priced. After obtaining several estimates, I found C&J's proposal to be both the most thorough and the most competitive. Throughout the project, Cris kept me informed of the progress and maintained excellent communication. His crew was professional, hardworking, and took extra care when excavating around existing solar plumbing and sprinkler lines. It was clear they took pride in their work and paid attention to the details. Most importantly, Cris went above and beyond to ensure the drainage system was installed correctly and that I was completely satisfied with the finished product. The quality of the workmanship exceeded my expectations, and the entire experience was positive from start to finish. I highly recommend C&J Landscape Service to anyone looking for a reliable, honest, and skilled landscaping contractor read more

Chris responded to my request for help within minutes and provided a reasonable bid the same day. A crew began repairing and replacing the irrigation system a couple days later and finished well before the projected time line. Communication was thorough throughout the project and the work crew was prompt, polite, focused, organized and cleaned up irrigations zones as repairs were made. The property was tidier than when they began the project! I highly recommend C & J Landscape Service Inc. read more

I should have known he can't even respond to a text requesting services in a timely manner. When he did he has no social skills and leaves you guessing. No surprise he didn't show up and never called or texted me back. I had a lot of work and money for him as did three friends of mine who are waiting to see if he worked out for me. He missed out on thousands of dollars read more

They are priced well and very helpful. They do get busy so allow about an hour to communicate back and forth. But over did great and we are looking to seeing them back next month. Thanks for your help!! read more

No customer service skills, unprofessional disrespectful overpriced and unreliable. I hired them to remove some bushes and they changed significantly due to the fact that they were older bushes and they had lots of roots according to Crisanto, when I check the job there were still significantly lots of roots left and I asked him to remove them, he came back to the job upset and disrespectful to me and sort of took the rest of the roots out. At night that day I notice that there was a big puddle of water where they had removed the bushes and noticed that they broke a sprinkler line. I called Crisanto and he promised to go the next day and then the next the same, it has been an exact week and he has not responded my calls. It's sad that some people just work for money and not quality work. He seemed to be a reliable person and his wife's friend referred them to me. I would think that due to that he was going to make it right. read more

Professional, timely, and high quality work. I contacted Cris about one of my external landscaping pipes that had suffered from root damage from our city tree. He came by quickly to give me a layout of his plan, the time it would take to complete, and the price. Very reasonable pricing. His crew came by early and completed the job (removing bushes, digging, placing the new line, and even replacing the bushes!). Everything was done in about 5 hours and they even re-tested my sprinklers to make sure they repaired any lines they hit. All repairs were done super timely and the crew he sent out were great guys who were very professional and respectful. During the next rainfall, I noticed everything was draining smoothly! Overall, I would definitely contact Cris again for any landscaping needs. I highly recommend him for anyone who needs work done. Quality of work 5/5 Professionalism 5/5 Custom service 5/5 read more

We contacted Chris about 2 months ago. When he came to the house, we clearly explained we want someone to trim the plants, weed the flowerbeds and general yard maintenance. Jose came and did the initial yard clean up. He talked with my husband and said I can have the rose bushes grow onto the fence and my husband responded that is exactly what my wife wants. The first maintenance day, a kid and a lady show up.my husband told the kid about the conversation with Jose and the kid said I dont do that, that's my uncle. The next time it was the kid and the lady again so we text Chris and asked for clarification on what our service was to be. No clarification was given. We had one time where the guy didn't show at all and then Chris came and did the lawn and then the guy shows up and unlocks our gate at 9:11 and locks the gate and leaves at 9:17. I texted chris and asked how could anyone trim the plants, weed the flowerbeds and do general maintenance in less than 6 minutes And we paid 75 bux for that. Absolutely no response They were supposed to maintenance last Saturday. No snow no contact. I text and asked. No response. Today I text and said your services are no longer needed and please mail our key back. We got a response in less than 5 minutes saying ok. Obviously they are not interested in obtaining and keeping customers. I do not recommend this company at all. read more

He was quick to respond before the project started and during the work he kept us up to date the whole time. He worked with us on our ideas and gave good suggestions about what would be good choices. They did a whole yard project from removing old shrubs and grass, installed artificial turf, mulch and rocks, new drip line watering, lighting, etc. they did it all. Reached out on Yelp and got a quick reply. They sent me a link to schedule an in-person consultation about the work I'd like to get done. Scheduled it, saw it was within a 2 hour window, so when the day came we waited. They no-call/no-showed and still haven't reached out to me almost 24 hours later. Guess they weren't actually interested, but wish they hadn't wasted our time, since I made sure my husband could WFH that day so we could both speak to them. Bummer. read more

Met with Cris to discuss our landscaping needs and was told that I would receive an estimate within 1 week. It's been 2 weeks and I'm still waiting on a quote which I never received. Was looking for basically a whole backyard remodel because my place was disaster area. I shot out a yelp message and and C&J were quick to respond. After going to all the things we needed done they were very easy to accommodate what we needed. Their prices were very reasonable considering all the work we needed done. from clearing out weeds, removing a shed and debri, removing several trees, laying fresh sod in the front and backyard, installing a sprinkler system for the front and back, and even in removing old cement and laying cement around the perimeter of the home and the slab for a new shed. They even do fence work so I was able to have a fence for my dogs. My home looks so much better thanks to them. They were prompt and did awesome work. they didn't even mind when my young son wanted to "help" them. They even have connections with other needs you may need such as plumbing or electrical work. I would definitely use them again for any future projects. read more

I have no hesitation in giving C&J a 5 star review! Cris and his team did an amazing job on our backyard project. We had a general idea of what we wanted and Cris brought additional ideas and suggestions to improve our idea. He was very flexible and didn't "nickel and dime" us throughout the process. Cris was onsite almost every day the crew was here ensuring they were doing a quality job. He was responsive and communicated well (i.e. letting us know when his ETA on arrival, etc). I felt his pricing was very reasonable. We had another quote for a similar price as Cris' but we felt that we got more for our money with Cris. He even came back after we paid in full to ensure that our hot tub installation went well and ensured that anything with the landscaping that was impacted by the installation was taken care of. read more

I needed someone to come out and help me with my non functioning pond. Chris got right back to me and we scheduled a time for the next evening for Chris to come out and see what needed to be done. Chris was polite, on time ( he even called ahead of time to let me know his ETA) and was respectful of my property. I hired C&J Landscape Service to landscape my yard and I couldn't be happier. I recently purchased a new construction home that needed to have the entire yard landscaped. We reached out to Chris after our initial contractor botched a simple backyard hardscaping and landscaping project in Modesto. Chris was prompt in his response, stopped by the house on time and quickly provided an assessment of the situation along with an estimate. He set expectations of finishing the landscaping (600 sqft of sod installation, sprinkler setup, and 1000sqft of pebbles) within a week. They started work the next day and were completely finished in 3 days! Chris and his team were professional, cleaned up nicely after their work and even helped us take back extra materials ordered by our first contractor to a nearby Home Depot as a courtesy to us. I would highly recommend Chris. read more
