I recently needed 5 sprinkler valves replaced at my house and Richard from Schmid Landscaping went above and beyond in every possible way. After his normal business hours, he still made time to come over and help me out. Not only did he order the parts for me at a deep discount, but instead of just knocking the job out himself, he patiently walked me through the entire process step by step. He showed me exactly how to do it so I could handle it myself should the need ever come up in the future. What really stood out, though, was what a genuinely kind and sincere person he is. From my brief interaction with him, he seems to be a true family man. He lit up talking about his kids and how important it is to him to put them through good schools and give them the best opportunity in life he can. He shared how truly blessed he feels being able to help others through his landscaping business, and how that allows him to take care of his family in return. You could tell that warmth and gratitude just radiated from him. On top of being an outstanding landscaper and irrigation expert, he's the kind of guy you instantly feel like you've known for years. Another thing that blew me away, Richard did not gouge me for price or labor to install the valves and actually taught me how to do it. Fixing our sprinklers and drip irrigation (front and back of house) 2. Rehabilitating our backyard, to include laying sod 3. Improve on work ethics!! Jane hired for hour a week for 400.00 a month !! Ishe was watching him cut her time down to 20 min a week ! Plenty of work to do . confronted the owner today and his reply was I know I've been going through yard pretty quick ! I'm just not up to it right now so you can get rid of me . Jane got rid of him because he doesn't put in the time agreed on when hired. This is for my cousin Jane wright ... this Gardner also was fired by my daughter for not putting in the work. This is her words to me ... she was very disappointed! Jane helped me write this review . Jane has been Watching you and timing you for weeks . You don't start up a job for hour a week and cut it down to 20 min . She has a lot of work left to do ! She's been waiting for you to clip her bushes ! I read the email you sent her . I can clip and post it . You offered to come back and do the job right but she refused your offer. You know you cut back her time . You told her a hour a week with a crew . 100.00 a week for 20 min to 30 min is a lot of money. Before we found Schmid Landscaping, we were with another lawn service that was frustrating. They kept rescheduling, overcharged their services, and there was no way of contacting them. The point of my review was that I wanted you to come out and evaluate the job, either you or one of your crew, and I would NOW recommend anyone who uses your service to get the estimate in writing to avoid misunderstandings. I'm sure you do great work. Supporting a large family does not enter into the equation, I also must survive and your personal life woes do not enter into my concerns any more than my issues obviously matter to you, or you would not have been so disrespectful of my needs. I did not wish for someone to come out the following day and do the work. You wanted to charge by the hour without ever having seen the job. I would be crazy to accept those terms. You cannot tell the scope of a job with a few photos. I am going to presume you read my review, but your response indicates that you actually did not understand it. The reason I did not respond to your texts or voicemails was because I had told you of my expectations and you ignored my needs, deciding for me that you would simply send out your crew and I suppose I would receive a bill at the end of the day. He ended up just doing the work necessary then and there since I had most of the required parts.
