From May 5th 2026 through May 6th, I spent hours negotiating with salesman Danie on a certified pre-owned 2023 Acura MDX. We reached an agreed-upon out-the-door price, and I was told Sales Manager Alec Torres would call me on May 7th to complete financing over the phone. What followed was days of complete radio silence. Multiple calls and texts to Alec Torres went unanswered. When I called the dealership, staff said they couldn't discuss financing until Manager Brad Caba was available because I wasn't buying in person. On May 8th, after repeated calls and being told Brad was "in meetings," I was finally informed -- via text -- that the car I had agreed to buy had already been sold. No one had bothered to tell me earlier, even though I was actively trying to move forward. While I understand cars can sell, being strung along for multiple days with zero communication was unacceptable. Alec later apologized and admitted it was his fault, but then repeatedly tried to push me into a lease, a higher-mileage MDX at a higher price, and even offered to find me something at auction. I repeatedly asked to speak with a manager instead. It is now May 12th and I have reached out via text, voicemail, email, FB messenger and still no response back from any of the platforms. This level of poor communication, lack of transparency, and bait-and-switch behavior is unacceptable. I negotiated in good faith only to be ignored and misled. As a result, I will not be buying from this dealership and strongly advise others to stay clear of Dick Hannah Acura of Portland.

The process for me was absolutely frictionless! Caliber got my car checked in, and coordinated with the Enterprise down the street to shuttle me over to pick up a rental car. Caliber was very thorough--because the damage included bumping the tire, they made sure to check and fix the tire alignment, in addition to all the body work. I got text updates when they started and finished working on my car, as well as estimate dashboards so I knew what was being billed to the other driver's insurance. They had my car back to me in less than a week! They'd given it a full wash and interior detailing, which was kind--it's a 13-year-old family car, plenty of dog fur and debris. Mace was so helpful and excellent to work with, and the whole team did a great job. I'm glad I didn't have to foot the bill, but the result and experience were terrific!

When I got the original quote the rep told me that the bumper could be repaired and repainted, which was great. What he failed to mention was they wouldn't repair the rock chips, and that once painted (the car is black) that those rock chips would be very noticeable. Had he mentioned that I would have a. talked to my insurance company to see if they would cover any additional labor or b. paid out of pocket. That would have been the first line of communication. The second opportunity to communicate would be prior to the bumper being painted. It would have been nice to get a heads up that they were painting right over the rock chips and it would be glaringly noticeable. They did not communicate that. Now that the work is completed that bumper looks like it has dimples all over it. When I took it back for them to look at it they basically told me that they weren't being paid by the insurance company to fix the rock chips therefore they didn't do it. They said I needed to go back and talk with my insurance company and have them pay all over again to completely repaint the bumper. Not a good solution. This all could have been taken care of early on had they given me a heads up on what to expect, and options on repairing the front bumper properly. Now it's too late and the bumper looks bad. Also very poor customer service in not resolving the issue.

Extremely disappointed with Honda's response to a known engine issue…read more We purchased a used 2016 Honda Odyssey in good faith because we trusted Honda's reputation for reliability and expected this vehicle to last our family for many years. We are now dealing with a nearly $4,900 repair for piston rings and spark plugs at approximately 155,600 miles. What is especially frustrating is Honda's response. When we contacted Honda Corporate asking for assistance, we were told that the repair was our responsibility and that the original owner would have been notified about the issue. We were also essentially told that it was our responsibility as consumers to do our own research. The problem is that we were not the original owners, and this issue was never disclosed to us when we purchased the vehicle. We had no knowledge that Honda had previously notified someone else about the issue, and we had no opportunity to act on information that was never provided to us. If Honda knew about a recurring issue affecting these engines and notified the original owner, what happens when that vehicle is subsequently sold? The next owner may have absolutely no idea that there was an issue or that a previous owner received a notification. We aren't asking Honda to pretend the vehicle has no mileage or that maintenance doesn't matter. We are asking Honda to recognize the circumstances and provide some goodwill assistance toward an expensive engine repair that we had no reason to anticipate when we purchased the vehicle. Our family has owned multiple Hondas, and we chose this Odyssey because we genuinely believed in Honda's reputation for quality and longevity. It's incredibly disappointing to spend years trusting a brand, only to be told that a major repair is simply our responsibility because we should have somehow known about an issue that was never disclosed to us. At the very least, Honda should be willing to explain exactly what notification was sent to the previous owner, when it was sent, and why a subsequent owner was left completely unaware. We had hoped Honda would stand behind its customers and help us find a reasonable solution. Unfortunately, so far, we have been left feeling like once the vehicle was sold to a second owner, the problem became entirely ours--even though we never had the opportunity to know about it in the first place. Very disappointed in Honda and in how this situation has been handled.
