My first time at a Mackenzie River location! Visited on my way to Billings, and needed some carbs to fill up my body before making the final two-hour leg on a Saturday evening. I had a Stockman pizza with the Italian sausage, meats, and cheese. They also had a refreshing amber ale that I enjoyed. Some of the reviews are mixed, but I lucked out and had a great pizza to get me through to the next hotel room. Four stars, I asked for a box and then had to remind her again a few minutes later to get me a box. I get that it's a busy Saturday night full of travelers and locals, but it isn't hard to grab one and go to the next table. Delicious pizza, I'll make a return stop sometime. There's a Mackenzie River in CDA that I may try eventually as well. read more

The service was probably some of the worst I've ever had. The kitchen forgot we even had an order and I had to wait another hour for my food. This used to be my favorite pizza place that I've ever been to and it really sad to see this location and their competence. I'm not going to give up on it, but the staff really needs to step their game up. read more

We've had the pizza here many times in the last few years! We decided to try the Hot Hawaiian (without Jalapeños). The pizza was good and tasty. We're trying to figure if they changed the crust recently. Maybe it's just us, but it seemed different. Not bad, just different. Otherwise, it was good! It also might be because we tried a different type of pizza. We usually get the Rancher! read more

Attempted to place an order over the phone because their website is so inadequate and you cannot customize your pizzas online. Three times I tried to call within a 15 minute period and I got referred to a voicemail every single time there was no humans picking up the phone. Went to somewhere else will never try these guys again. Their whole system is screwed. read more

I was disappointed with the quality of the pizza. Very greasy super salty and just not good. Wish I had ordered the salad. Oh well. The waitress was nice. The restaurant was a big box with high ceilings but charm factor 2 outa 10. Maybe they could get the former Audrey's recipe, hmmm, not yum. read more

They offer an extensive menu and seasonal specials. We got the pear and blue cheese flatbread, a "small" bowl of bison chili and the Korean salmon bowl. That was a lot of food! I really liked the flatbread - lots of cheesy goodness. The bison chili was good. The Korean bbq sauce was a tad spicy but was offset by the jasmine rice and veggies. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Our server was very attentive. I like the setup and decor of the restaurant, but would have liked an outdoor seating area. A good stop. read more

I grew up in Chicago and this is still one of the best pizzas I have ever had. We ordered a harvest cherry pizza- thin crust and a huckleberry salad. They were both so fresh and the crust was crispy. The flavors paired wonderfully together and it was enough food for two people to split. Highly recommend coming here in the summer for their 406 summer fare menu because both items were off of it. The only reason my review is not 5 stars is because the service was extremely slow. So bring your patience if you come, but the wait was well worth it! read more

I don't leave reviews very often but this seems to be important.. my coworkers and I went to lunch recently . Two of us ordered a pepperoni pizza that was included in the rod and reel special. She ordered thin crust. I ordered original crust. My pizza literally had 12 pieces of pepperoni on it while hers seem to be completely covered. Why the difference? I really wish there was a way for me to post the pictures. The difference is so significant that you would think you were looking at two pizzas from completely different places . read more

Walked in half tables and booths available at 8:00 Saturday , she walked us to a table with 4 chairs.....we are 5 adult people....asked for a booth behind the table about a foot away, she denied us not giving us another option saying the server wasn't there for the booth RIGHT behind the table, and I get it I'm in service industry, the restaurant was not at all packed or busy just laziness ... very disappointed, won't be going agin with her rude attitude. read more

The food was delicious! I ordered the Italian Grinder pizza with vegan cheese and it was the tastiest pizza I've had in a while. My husband ordered the Hot Hawaiian pizza and he said it was really good. The server was friendly and polite. I just wish we lived in the area to eat here on a regular. read more

We dined in on July 24. Had not eaten their honestly in many years. Has really gone down hill. Service was sub par. The Willow Creek sandwich had a literal shave of avacado and about a quarter cup of mayo (wish I had taken pics). Our guests pizzas were less than tasty as well. The roasted Brussels sprouts appetizer was basically raw and the spinach dip tasted like cream cheese with a little bit of archtichoke. Lived here for 35 years and ate frequently at the restaurant on main. It used to be delicious. So sad it's gone downhill. read more

Got a Cobb salad to go, not sure how this went so wrong salad had 3 thin slices (paper thin) Avocado also had black beans and whole kernel corn. These two ingredients were not listed on the menu. And not appropriate for a Cobb salad. Service if you dine in is horribly slow. And server for table will let you water run to the point you have to ask for a refill. read more

Food, service, ambiance, and proximity to our hotel! Each of these things at Mackenzie Pizza added to wonderful stay in Belgrade before our flight out of Bozeman. I loved the variety of gourmet pizzas they offered. My husband and I shared the Sequoia pizza with thin crust and a Beet Salad with the dressing on the side so we could decide if we liked it, and we did. And we each enjoyed a glass of wine. The pizza and salad were both delicious... (seriously surprised how much my husband liked the salad ) We wanted to try one of their yummy deserts but we were so full and satisfied by the flavors of our dinner we didn't get any sweets. Service was excellent! We went in near closing time and our food and the service was still given all the bells and whistles. This is a must try, especially if you are staying nearby. We almost didn't go because there are so many mixed reviews on this place. Don't let that deter you. Try it for yourself. We are so glad we did! read more

Visited this spot since it was close to our hotel near the airport. Good food and friendly service! We liked their Cobb Salad and their Stockman Pizza was great as well. The pizza was filled with toppings and was deliciously made, offering some unique takes on pizza. The restaurant itself is also charming and well put together. Glad we dined here! read more

I arrived at peak dinner hours after stopping by some other places in Bozeman that had too long of a wait for me, but there were a few tables available here. My server was attentive, frequently reappearing to take a drink order and eventually to take my dinner order. I got the Fiesta bowl, which was incredibly flavorful. The flank steak was incredibly tender and smoky. My only gripe with my meal was the disproportionate amount of corn to the rice and beans; I could've done with another scoop. The restaurant, while mostly full, remained at a decent auditory level, perhaps due to the high ceiling. I was impressed that it was not too loud during my meal, despite seeing several large groups in my seating area. read more

Realizing there are negative reviews for poor service but they must be working on it! We are from out of state visiting friends and came for a drink and app! The atmosphere and food were wonderful but we had the BEST server- Ralston!!! He was patient (we had a hard time deciding), accommodating (he took our lead when we tried to pay for the table), fun and funny (joined on the fun and wrote us an epic comment on our receipt based on table conversation)! We will always come to a place with people who are having fun and enjoying their job!! Have him train the others in customer service read more

We have always loved this place. But the last time we ordered take home was unreal. One sandwich had a piece of meat the size of a quarter, literally the size of a coin. The rest of the sandwiches didn't have $5 worth of sandwich fillings, including meat, on them. They were 2 pieces of bread with barely anything between them. One had an avocado piece about an inch long and a half inch wide. We drove a round trip of 18 miles to pick them up. So disappointed. This place used to be better than any other restaurant in the area. Must have new management. read more

Disgusting. All of it. Start to finish. Server brought out drinks by holding them by the rim. And then she forgot half of the drinks including the birthday girls white claw. And then she forgot them again and our friend had to go find her. She then brought the drinks unopened. ‍ Bathroom atrocious. Food awful. I had a "Philly". Literally maybe an ounce of meat on it. The roll was dry and squished and had some sort of bubbles on it. Like soapy bubbles. Was super gross and I didn't eat it. Gal never asked how things were nor seemed to care that none of us touched any of the food. Then we did presents and server never bussed ANY of the plates we had stacked up. Mind you, the place was not busy. Whoever is "managing" this place should probably go apply for a different job because clearly they aren't doing this one. Overall just a disgusting experience. Go get gas station pizza. You'll be much happier. read more

Arrived at 11:45 ordered at noon. Not busy maybe 7 tables seated. Waitress very nice. Pizza and soup took 35 minutes to arrive and both were like warm. Warm pizza is expected for delivery not in a restaurant. read more

This location is terrible! I have gone to the Bozeman location for years and it's always been a favorite, but the Belgrade location has repeatedly had very poor service and food. This past weekend I ordered a pizza and skillet cookie for takeout. I arrive at the quoted time and went to the pickup window. A young, college aged boy told me my pizza was "just coming out of the oven" and would be ready in 5 minutes. Over 10 minutes went by before I checked in again to see if it was ready. He turned around and pretended to look into the kitchen and said they were just cutting my pizza now. I said great, and stayed at the counter since no one was behind me. I waited another 10 minutes before another college aged girl came and asked me what I was there to pickup. I explained that I'd been there for 20 minutes past the quoted wait time for the pizza and had been told by the other boy twice that my food was just about to be ready. She said she'd go check on it. She came right back and said my pizza was just now in the oven and had about 8 minutes left. It was obvious that the other boy had lied to me about the pizza "coming out of the oven" and "being cut". I would've just appreciated him being honest about a delay so I could go back to my car to wait until it would be ready... After waiting an hour in total for the pizza (and I ordered it at 4pm, so not during any rush hour) the manager did come over without me saying anything to tell me he was sorry and he comped the meal. I really appreciated this on his part. But when I received the pizza and skillet cookie I was very disappointed with the quality. The skillet cookie in particular was burnt and it wasn't even pressed into a skillet cookie shape- you could see where they threw the balls of dough in (shown in picture). I've been to this location about 4 times now and each time have been thoroughly disappointed with not only the quality of the pizza (the Bozeman location as a point of reference) but also the very poor service from the college-aged staff. read more

When visiting Bozeman, we had dinner here and it didn't disappoint! The menu includes an impressive variety of food choices and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! I had the Pear & Bleu cheese flatbread listed as a Starter which was scrumptious but it was more than I could eat for dinner! Our service was great too. Highly recommend! read more

Always here around lunch times on the weekends. Have come with family on multiple occasions. They are kid friendly and accommodating. Do you like mushy un-edible food? Do you like soggy overpriced pizza and wings? If you like all that plus bad attitudes then the MacKenzie River in Belgrade is the place for you and your family to waste your money. Very good pizza and salads. I've only picked up food but the young people working there are friendly and have got the order correct each time. We would eat there if they had TV's for sports but maybe they don't want that. So it's just an est and leave type spot. So can't really comment on ambiance. read more

Took almost 2 hours to get a basic food order for a table of 4. Watched multiple 10+ ppl tables come and go while we waited. Waitress credited it to a busy day except there were only 2 tables when we arrived. Don't go here unless you have all day to get lunch. read more

This place has gone downhill. It absolutely takes forever to be served... regardless if you you dine in or takeout. When you do finally receive your food, it's lukewarm. I see now why the automatically add gratuity on take out orders... they would absolutely not be tipped if they didn't. Sadly, this will be my last time eating at a MacKenzie River restaurant. It's been going downhill for a while now. Ordered a Buffalo Mac n cheese pasta with EXTRA Buffalo sauce. I got the absolute dryest pasta ever. I said no bleu cheese and it had some. And finally, where is the chicken? This had three tiny pieces of pieces of chicken strips (not a single full strip) and it was enough to cover one tablespoon with chicken. That's it. Lesson learned; never again. read more

Wow! Delicious food, warm environment, and friendly service. I stopped here in Belgrade with my mom for a yummy lunch and we were pleasantly surprised at how good it was! For an appetizer we ordered the Lodgepoles (cheesy breadsticks) and we each got an individual pizza for our meal. Diana was our kind server, and even included a ranch with the Lodgepoles although 1. Only a side of marinara was on the menu and 2. We did not ask for ranch. (It was like she read my mind!!) In reviewing the entire menu while there, I was pleasantly surprised at how many vegetarian options there were. Additionally, they have an awesome rewards program that I was excited to sign up for! Looking forward to returning! read more

We ordered about $150 worth of pizza for a child's birthday party so it was a pickup order. When we arrived, an additional 18% gratuity was added to the total withOUT it being disclosed at the time the order was called in and NO choice given. Had it not been for a birthday party with a house full for people waiting, we would have walked out. At what point did gratuities quit being optional and, most especially, when we were not served but simply picked up the to-go order. The sad part is Mackenzie River pizza is already more expensive than anyone else and average, at best. So disappointed that I will never eat at any MacKenzie River establishment again. read more

We were just passing through Bozeman and our "Low Pizza Alarm" was ringing MacKenzie River Pizza was adjacent to the interstate, so we gave it a shot. I wasn't really impressed. We ordered the "Good ol' boy" (Pepperoni, basically) and it was meh. We asked for thin crust, and they nailed that part: It was as thin and crispy as a saltine cracker. But it had no flavor whatsoever. There was a whole pile of pepperoni on top, but hardly any cheese to hold it all together. And, overall, absent the pizza satisfaction one might expect from a good slice. Plus, it was on the small-ish size for a $20 pizza. Also, ordered the Bison chili. This was better than expected, but not "traditional." It had whole kernel corn in it (?) and plenty of beans. But, overall, great chili flavor and thickness. I'd order this again. I hear the pastas are good, and the salads. We might try again on the way back. But probably not. read more

I hate posting negative reviews but Mckenzie River used to be a go to whenever we were in Bozeman. Never again. What used to be a great place to get a good pizza and beer has turned into a sad excuse for a local restaurant. Our salads were soggy and drowning in dressing. Chop salads mean to chop. The lettuce was limp and in large torn pieces. The pizza was undercooked. By undercooked I mean cheese that was cold and crust that was raw dough. I'm not exaggerating when I say I have had better frozen pizza from the grocery store. We came in hungry and excited for good pizza and beer and left without touching half the food that was ordered.
