The waitress was friendly and let us sit wherever we wanted. It was bright and colorful inside. Beautiful DR inspired art covered the walls in the form of a mural and there was a small bar with a TV. They were out of quite a few items like the Oxtail and only had Tilapia fish despite having red snapper on the menu. Not sure if they sold out earlier in the day or hadn't restocked the restaurant. We started with drinks. 2 of us ordered the Sangria and another one ordered the Grenadine Margarita. The drinks are the reason they're only getting 4 stars. We all agreed that we didn't think there was any alcohol in them. The Sangria clearly had concord grape juice in it (very distinct taste). The friend who recommended the restaurant stated that it was different that the last time she was there and that the last time was not during a happy hour. I would rather get a quality product at full price instead of a discounted mediocre one for half price. For food, we started with beef empanadas and shared one chicken and cheese. They were hot and fresh wkth well seasoned meat and flakey crust. For my entree I ordered the Pernil Mangu. The Mangu was garlicky just like I like it. Ithey made it fresh because we could hear them pounding it. We all got different variations of the Mangu and it was all served in the same sauce. It was ok. It was a bit waterybut fulfilled it's purpose of preventing the dish from being dry. The Pernil was super flavorful. I do wish I could have gotten some pieces of crispy skin in it. My frinds got the shrimp and the chicharron. They were both good. The Chicharronwas perfectly seasoned and crispy!! Overall a good meal with plenty of leftovers. I definitely recommend.

We went entered it was clean, smelled really good, and surprisingly no other customers in the restaurant. The owner/manager told us we just missed the crowd (I actually checked on IG and there was a large crowd before - but had left right before we arrived). At first, we were just going to check out the menu. However, the staff started talking to us and showing some of the different entrees they had for the evening. We decided why not? So, we were instructed to sit down and they would come over. Once we made ourselves comfortable, the staff starting bring out samples of various drinks/juices that they offered for us to try. Very sweet gesture and the Soursop was amazing! We reviewed the menu with the owner/manager and decided on our entrees. While awaiting, chips and salsa was brought out for us to enjoy. The salsa was good, the chips didn't taste homemade, and the ketchup/mayo I could go without. Overall a good little snack while you wait (the salsa and chips). It didn't take long for us to be brought our meal. Everything was hot and fresh. Now, if you are looking for steakhouse tender steak, this ain't it. You need not even come with that mindset - this is like having a meal with your family. The potato salad, the potato.salad. my my my lol that's all I have for it! Just know, you are here to enjoy the local flavors of a different culture in Wilson. They nailed taking you to their native land via the food, the service, and the music. If loud music bothers you - you might want to take that into consideration. It doesn't bother me, but I know for some it might not do well for their dining experience.

This place isn't just a restaurant, it's a tradition. One of the waitresses (Ms. Marie!) has been there for at lea 25 years, and she truly makes the experience special. She's warm, welcoming, and makes you feel like family the moment you walk in. And of course, the food never disappoints. Everything is consistently delicious, perfectly seasoned, and the portions are just right--not too much, not too little. It's the kind of meal you look forward to and leaves you satisfied every time. Mayflower isn't just a place to eat--it's a staple of the community and a must-visit whenever you're in town.

I love this place. I am pescatarian so TBH, this is a slice of heaven to me in meat-heavy Wilson…read more I always get the broiled fish unless I'm feeling skinny, which isn't often. "Salad, no bacon." I now tell them to hold the side of clarified butter because I don't need to eat a couple little tub of melted butter. They give you so much. My go-to is any broiled seafood item, baked potato, side salad no bacon. Their dressings are fantastic (taste like Ken's) and their salads are ample. I've tried their bloomin onion knock-off and we like it better than Outback. I don't order it often; y'all know why by now. I'm fluffy and don't need more fluff. I only order if I haven't weighed myself that day. A Mayflower dinner is always two meals for me. It is a great value. The A#1 best server there (and anywhere in Wilson) is CHANNING. Ask for him; you won't be sorry. He is a kind and attentive server and a southern gentlemen. The ambiance is warm and inviting. It's a great place for large groups or a quiet dinner for 2. This place has a great family feel, quick service, a reliable kitchen, and wonderful staff. That's a 5-star review for me!

We had ordered light because we'd had a late lunch, and this was plenty for both of us. I should have written this review sooner so I would remember exactly what we spent, but it was quite reasonable. If you're visiting the nearby Whirligig Park as we were, this was a nice little walk- just a few minutes up the road. Next time we're in town, we will definitely be back!

The meat was 3 pcs with loads of fat as you can see (thought it was dumplings ) and about 7 SUPER SUPER SUPER tiny pcs. Honestly it was very reminiscent of Golden Corrals roast flavor, look, and smell. OMG this plate is definitely a $15 option being that you're barely giving the customer anything. I will gladly pay $30 for an oxtail plate as money is not the issue but quality is what we're missing here. So let me start with I called to place a pickup order and 2 people answered. I was told to just come in it only takes 3min. I arrived and waited a hot 10. Also it was dark and very uninviting which was kind of weird. Customer service was not huge and iykyk fine. I ordered and added a beef patty of which I was told was mild. It was spicy which was ok because that's what I wanted that actually tasted fine. The sides were not tasty at all I do not trust to try any other options because this is the test for most Caribbean restaurants. In my book I'm putting a Gordon R sticker by this place as it's TOAST. Try at your own risk which is what I did but the people have spoken and for a huge first I agree with them!!! SN: if the restaurant doesn't show you the plate before you leave just know you're gonna regret it
