The food is absolutely delicious. My waitress was Indira, and her customer service was outstanding. She was pleasant, kind, and very welcoming. She helped us choose our appetizer, meal, and dessert. Eventhing she recommended was delicious! She even gave me a cortadito when I was leaving. The ambiance is cute, too, with colombian pictures and decor throughout. I will definitely go back read more

Food is amazing, big portions, and great prices. Staff is lovely as well. Definitely recommend trying it out. at least once -you'll be back.

I only experience the bakery part of the restaurant. Really Yum! Love tamales and empanadas. Customer service is great, hey, Colombian waitresses, very kind. My only downside is they need to make two lines, one for restaurant service and one for bakery service because is kind of confusing. It is always busy and you are not sure if you are waiting in the right spot. read more

Have been coming here for years and the food and service is always amazing and the food is always delicious! Love our favorite server indira

The service has improved since my last visit. Best Colombian food near my house. Authentic bandeja paisa, arepas, empanadas, pan de Bono, buñuelos, etc. . Unfortunately they tend to run out of my favorite Sancocho de costilla; sometimes they run out of all type of Sancocho. I have even called ahead to ask and when I am seated ready to order, it is all gone! I love the idea that it is definitely fresh if they are running out all the time, but, I would love to have it any time and all the time. I have gotten lucky a few times lately. Basically, I perfected my system and started calling early enough to ensure I would be able to pick up my SANCOCHO! It's worth the planning ahead. read more

Not sure why this spot is rated so low. Should definitely be five stars! This is my second time coming both times I have gotten the classic, bandeja paisa with carne asada and both times I have been impressed. So much food I had to eat it in two sittings. The people were really nice, only thing was I ordered there and it took quite a while. I would suggest to call in if you're getting taking out which makes sense I just didn't decide to eat here until the last second. Overall great place can't wait to be back! read more

Worst experience trying to get food either picking up or using any application.. I don't ... recommend to order anything to be delivered... you will Either get scammed or double charged ... they take accountability for anything. Second time trying to order get food delivered never arrived... you contact their location and don't care if you lost your order. Yes read more

The food here is tasty, shockingly affordable, and very plentiful. Each time I've consumed it, I've felt a bit guilty since I had a huge buttered and sliced cuban bread, rice, black or red beans, pork steak and grilled onions, grilled sausage, arepa, fried egg, and chicharrón for something like 11 bucks. Whoever invented Bandeja Paisa con Carne Asada deserves a medal, as far as I am concerned. The well salted and seasoned food is enough to feed me for the rest of the day. Truthfully, I can feel my arteries quiver with fear and anticipation as they bring the multiple plates to the table. Add in plenty of to-go bakery items and I'm set for the week. But, I have to stick to salad and veggies for subsequent meals so my body can prepare again for the Macita's experience. read more

Long-time customer of Macita's. Love their food -- authentic, delicious Colombian cuisine. I regularly order their Bandeja Paisa. The portions are large and filling, well worth the price. If you're not looking to dine, I usually pick up a Pan de Bono or one of their tequeños/dedos de queso (cheese sticks covered in bread) -- they're incredible, especially when they come right out the oven. read more

I requested a "sancocho de gallina to go" the girl told me "I think we have one left" I said OK. After I got home, to my surprise it was a "sancocho" with one piece of corn, a small piece of yuca and the rest liquid. The chicken was wrapped separated in luminium foil and it was some type of "chicken in tomato sauce". I was looking for the sancocho for my old lady . The white rice was OK. We are coming from up North far away to taste the food but it was very disappointed. read more

I go approximately 12 to 16 times a month, it is the only home cooking in this area, it cooks well, the waitresses serve very kindly Except for about 3 or 4, the biggest problem is the music, they play it so loud that you can't enjoy the food, they don't turn it down even if you ask, several times I have had to leave, just for that reason, it hurts they damage the restaurant trying to be a seedy canteen or a bar with loud music read more

We always enjoy a nice, authentic Colombian dinner. Macita's has been around for many years in this location and it's always been consistent with the food. Our usual include the Bandeja Paisa and the steak. Portions are big and you get a lot for what you pay. The setting and atmosphere is nice, ethnic and typical Colombian style. The seating area is very big, and there's also a "bakery" set up on the side, where you can take pastries and goodies to go. We've never had a problem with service- the servers are always polite and professional. We were happy that they opened another location closer to our home (in the Hammocks), but at the end of the day, we still prefer this one. read more

Always in point! Whether it's breakfast, brunch or dinner, delicious food. A little over priced but I guess it goes with the times.

The food was okay but what stood out was the poor service. My wife and I went there and it literally felt like we were begging to be served. The staff hardly speaks English so it's a little akward. I was served an arepa that was excessively hot and burnt the flesh in my mouth and it took almost a week to heal. Since none speaks English, they couldn't warn me. I got a fractured tooth a little after the burn and suspect the excessively hot food and drink cold water may have caused this. I've had to remove the tooth and get an implant. Anyways the service is horrible, the staff is crude and I don't recommend. read more

On a positive note the Restaurant inside has been given an update, a fresh more modern look. The huge disappointment however is the quality of the food has gone significantly down. We ordered Takeout Ajiaco and Sancocho de Costilla which are only available Sundays and we loved to takeout in the past. To our surprise both were tasteless, completely watered down and transparent. The Ajiaco was a total disappointment. It had almost no chicken, only a few small pieces of potatoes and did not have any corn. The Sancocho was not as bad as the Ajiaco but lacked taste and fell way short of expectations. Sincerely hope the owners can take action to correct this soon. read more

I came here because we wanted arepa con huevo as they advertise it on their menu. I have came here three times in a row and at no point do they have it. On the third time coming I went at 8:00am and one of the ladies at that point just admitted they didn't make any. The previous two times that we went was around 10:30a and 11:00a and they gave us the excuse that they "ran out". Aside from that, the staff is marginal and the breakfast menu and items are okay at best. I been to better Colombian restaurants and would rather make the extra 10 minute trip for the service, food quality and availability. read more

Just got home from ordering take out. Bandeja Paisa nothing tastes good. Everything was pretty much tasteless the beans, the plantains were under cooked, chicharrón was bland, the beef empanadas should be called potato empanadas as the meat is non existent, the rib sancocho was watered down, even the fried egg did not look appealing. The restaurant smells like vinegar and you come out smelling like that. read more

I had a pretty good meal at Macita's yesterday. I kept hearing from a friend to try this place and since I had a day off from work and was nearby, I decided to try it out. I want to say that this place is nicely decorated and clean. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Service was excellent as the waitress was more than happy to give recommendations on what to eat. I started with appetizer of chicharones (pork rinds) which were delicious. It's been a while since I have had any and these were certainly some of the best I have had. Also the bread the bring to the table is buttery and delicious. For my main course I had delicious bistec a Cavalli (steak and eggs)...be warned it comes with a lot of onions in case you don't like that. Also the portions are huge...when they brought the steak I though yeah no way I can finish this meal. The steak was very tender. I had for sides fries as well as black beans and rice. The black beans and rice were disappointing...the black beans were watery and lacked flavor. My family though had the fried chicken breast and they weren't too thrilled with the meal. They said that the chicken was juicy but lacked flavor. Before I left I had a shot of Cuban coffee because if they sell that I love to have it as an after meal drink...coffee was good. I certainly enjoyed my meal...although it seems the place may need to work on consistency in all its plates. read more

The food was just ok. I ordered mondongo and they brought me tripe and potatoes with no liquid. My husband ordered pollo a la plancha and the taste was not great either. I wouldn't say I'm a Colombian food connoisseur but I do enjoy it. Macita's is a great family friendly restaurant with delicious Colombian foods. Of course you can't go wrong with the traditional bandeja paisa. But my favorite is the pescado a la marinera! Delicious, tender, and comforting lol. The empanas are a must started. They are authentic Colombian empanadas, not imposters! The service is friendly and efficient. It's one of my neighborhood favorite eateries. read more

Really extremely rude staff in the front- especially on Sundays. They speak so poorly about customers right in front of us. This normally is one of my favorite places to go however this time I was very very disappointed. I had to wait over 25 minutes for one order of chicharrónes, the empanadas were not fresh they had no postobin and even the Pan de Bono was cold. I have been here before but it had been a while since I'd come. The renovation looks great, the food is delicious, they have live music guitar player and there's a dig of a food truck that apparently is coming soon. We had empanadas, and they were out of largo grito so we choose a mojarra instead. Our waitress was very nice and quick. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because the hallway to the bathroom is very slippery and dirty. I think they can do a better job in this area for both safety and cleanliness. read more
