Our friend recommended this restaurant for Lunch. I was excited to eat some Peruvian food. The menu offers a lots of options. Our friendly waitress came and took our orders. I ordered the Lomo Saltado ( beef with French fries. ) it's a popular Peruvian dish, some tallarines verdes ( spaghetti in green sauce with meat and arroz chaufa ( fried rice) . The portions were good. The tallarines didn't have any flavor. Arroz Chaufa was good. My lomo saltado was ok. I was surprised that my lomo saltado didn't come mix with the fresh fries as it should be. So far the food was ok for my taste. The place has a lot of space for sitting. It could be a little bit loud because of the music but it was fine with us. If you are in the area sure I will say give it a try. read more

Effing amazing. Visiting Machu Pichu is on my bucket list. In the mean time, this little gem in Bethlehem PA is perfect for a taste of Peru. I had steak a la pobre...... steak, rice, fries and an egg. It was sooooooooooo good. Great service, and outstanding food. Absolutely worth a visit. read more

My wife had 1/4 chicken, and a side of rice and beans. The chicken was moist, even though it was all white meat, and she had a hard time identifying the spices, besides cumin.... Really tasty! The beans were pintos, and the sauce they were in was thick and delicious, but not salty like you get some other places. I had beef with onions, peppers and noodles, which turned out to be spaghetti. The sauce was very beefy, and the beef was pretty tender, almost like pepper steak, but the spices were better. For dessert, I had purple corn pudding and tapioca pudding, mixed. The tapioca definitely had cinnamon and cardamom in it, and the purple corn pudding had tiny bits of pineapple and was like a very fruity sauce, thickened with cornstarch. All washed down with diet Inca Kola! read more

Never judge a book by its cover as they say. Outside it was quite, didn't look busy, but when we opened their doors, the entire place was filled that only 1 table was available and there was a line at the counter. I've been craving for some good Lomo Saltado de Carne. It has sautéed beef with onions, tomatoes, fries, & white rice. This dish has so much flavor just as I was expecting. Every bite was just so...*dreamy eyes + drooling* If you don't want rice & fries, they also have it with noodles and its called Tallarin Saltado de Carne It's sautéed with beef, onions, tomatoes and noodles. For appetizers we ordered Papa a la huancaina. Its slices of cooked potatoes covered in yellow mild sauce. It's like a potato salad with a lot of sauce. #IGworthyfood read more

To place context I am Peruvian and I am very picky about what represents Peruvian food. I live in philadelphia and only come to the Allentown area to come to the restaurant. I have eaten at very high scale restaurants and at mom/pop corner restaurants. I have come to this restaurant for about 10 years and I can tell they have improved their food. Food = 9 of 10 - every dish is what I would expect at a Peruvian restaurant in Peru. They definitely do a great job with what one can get from Peru. Bring many folks and order as much as you can so you can try everything. Service = if busy it becomes very slow. Conversely, if it is half full then food comes out quick. Since they are not always busy they I place a 7 out of 10 Ambiance = the restaurant has typical tables with plastic covers, a number on the table to identify them, non matching decor. To make it real casual peruvian you need that. :). So I score it 7 out of 10. read more

I am Peruvian that misses the food so bad and this is one of the best restaurants I have ever tried.

Very good traditional Peruvian restaurant. The ceviche is amazing. Found this place on Yelp after a long motorcycle ride. Try the chicken with fries and that classic green sauce. read more

We took yelpers advice and ordered the potato appetizer. It was delicious. The chicken was terrific as well! Friendly restaurant with great service! The ambiance is simple like many good restaurants around Lehigh!! read more

No Peruvian food in the area compares. Place is always packed and for good reason. Service is fine enough but that's not why you come here for read more

Cozy place with good vibes and good food. Can be a tad bit pricy but it felt authentic.

After reading an article from The Morning Call, I had to give this place a try. Upon arrival, I noticed immediately that the restaurant was very small and the parking was terrible. The restaurant consists of one open room as soon as you walk through the door that reminded me of a cafeteria. There was no hostess and seemed to be only one server. The menu wasn't very big so it didn't take me long to make a selection. I started off with a bowl of their Hen Soup and finished with their Seafood Fried Rice. Both delicious! The dining experience was rather disappointing but the food was great. If you plan on giving Machu Picchu a try I recommend getting take-out. read more

I wasn't expecting much about this place but I was so surprise with the customer service and the amazing FOOD . Everything was delicious and big portions . I'll definitely be back soon read more

We ordered food on a Saturday (early afternoon). My family is from Lima, Peru. They thought that the food was good but a little oily on some dishes. The most disappointing was that we placed an online order and were charged for those dishes, but, when we arrived to pick up the food, 2 of the dishes were not available and we were asked for substitutions. So, we had to wait longer to get our food which defeats the purpose of online ordering. read more

Food was good , but I ordered my steak raw and it was well done , had a good charcoal taste but from now on . I'm going to order chicken , maybe it was I don't speak Spanish , and you say make it raw and bloody and the waitress thinks you said don't make it raw and bloody , not getting the steak again read more

As someone with a picky tongue, I really didn't expect to be as blown away as I was. Not only is the portion size generous for the price, but the food was amazing! The chicken is To. Die. For. The seasoning on the Pollo a la brasa was so good that we almost wanted to get a second order of 1/2 chicken. And the fries are a hidden gem! 10/10 fries that were nice and crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. (My eyes lit up when I took a bite out of the fries, which surprised my bf as I am not normally a fries person). The decor is homey and you can definitely tell it is a family owned business. This also showed in the ceviche, the presentation of which was deceiving. If you are used to ceviche at any upscale restaurant, then you are used to well presented ceviche with appetizing colors. What this ceviche lacked in presentation it more than made up for in portion size and deliciousness. (side note: And what big corn it had! What magic packed in the unusually large and pale yellow kernels! It was so novel and so starchy!) read more

Just great, simple food. The 1/2 roasted chicken is one of the best I have ever eaten. They must brine it because the flavor is deep even in the white meat. The rice and beams are not ur typical blah Mexican. They each had real flavor and were clearly home cooked. Make sure you try the purple corn drink. Odd I know but it has a variety of sweetness and spice that makes u want to keep drinking it The only thing missing is atmosphere. Be prepared to look past this and enjoy the nice hostess and the great food. Takeout may be ur best bet if this is an issue Get the chicken! read more

A new favorite! You know you're walking into good South American resturant when you're the only patron speaking English and soccer is on the TV! I love it!! Come hungry, the portions are huge (think dinner and lunch the next day)! Fresh meats and seafoods. The spices on the food are perfection and I had a hard time stoping - my stomach said no more and my mouth said keep going! Very kid friendly and the place is filled with families. Can't wait to return!! read more

Lightning fast service, great hospitality, wonderful family atmosphere. You know you're gonna get a great meal when you seethe ladies in the back cooking their own recipes, no transient help like a chain restaurant. I've never been to Peru but if this is as close as I ever get I will feel as if I have experienced the awesomeness of the Peruvian people. read more

Very good. Authentic. Small. Place is small and clean but definitely like a diner feel. Not a fancy restaurant, more a 'hole in the wall". Friendly staff. Small menu with fast service. Predominantly chicken (of course) and some meat/seafood rice dishes. Authentic boiled purple corn beverage and rice pudding / purple corn mix. Fast. Friendly. Affordable. Clean. read more

Not much of a sign outside and looks run down but the whole chicken is fantastic! Very flavorful at a reasonable price. Not from the area but would definitely have again if i was ever nearby. read more

A very modest neighborhood place. The only restaurant (flanked by two bars that also serve food) within a few hundred yards of the Sands Casino. Only open for lunch and early dinner (closes 6pm or 7PM), it is not super cheap ($8 to $12), but you get a large excellent meal for your money. The menu is about a dozen Peruvian favorites. Spanish music videos are playing semi-loudly. I would recommend it as an alternative to the blander food served in the casino. As you walk out the casino, follow the sidewalks cross route 412, and head up the hill above the skatepark. The city of Bethlehem has plans to expand the "Greenway" which is a linear park following an old railroad. If they complete these plans by putting a small tree lined park across the street, the area should become more inviting for college students and for casino guests. read more

Was at a local brewery and looking for something different for dinner. Saw this place on the map and checked the reviews here on Yelp. The reviews warned of difficulty in parking, but since it was raining parking in front was not a problem. Went in and it was pretty empty. Sat at a table and ordered. I got the steak with egg, which was excellent. My companion had the 1/4 chicken which she loved. They give you a green sauce for dipping, not sure for what, but it as great and we poured it on the white rice that each of our plates came with. This place is not fancy, far from it. But the food is great and the price can't be beat. read more

Delicious, authentic Peruvian food. The restaurant is not fancy at all but the food sure is tasty. A family business with a limited menu focusing on quick service and authentic eats. I had the papa la huancaina, lomo saltado and picarones for dessert. Everything was beyond delicious and felt like it came right out of my grandma's kitchen. Truly a bustling place. So authentic we were the only table not speaking Spanish. My chicken and tostones were great, and my friends' fried rice was tasty. I had the purple corn drink and did not find it as sweet as other similar beverages, and less sweet than cola. Next time will try the Inca cola. Just ate here today for the first time. This place is AMAZING! I almost didn't stop here because of some of the reviews (bitching about parking and crowds) but I'm glad we decided to form our own opinion on the place. If you're looking for a fancy, upscale place- this isn't your place. But if you're looking for amazing food and a friendly neighborhood feeling- this IS your place! Our server was really friendly and everything tasted really fresh. Even the house salad dressing was delicious. If you're into trying new things you need to check this place out. read more

Let me start this review stating that I live in a very large Peruvian community in Carteret, NJ, and I have EXCELLENT Peruvian restaurants within 10-15 minutes of our house. It was a beautiful spring day yesterday, so my family and I decided to take a day trip to Bethlehem. In the late afternoon, after we had gone to Sands casino, we decided to cross the street and try this little unassuming place, as I had taken a look on yelp, and the overall opinion is that the food is delicious. There is no parking lot, you must find a spot on the street. We were lucky enough to find a spot right in front. The restaurant, from the outside, is, for lack of a better word, ugly. We walked in, and it looks like a family-run, simple operation, seating for about 50 people or so in a big room. The setting is so not fancy. There is a glass display cart, on wheels, blocking the entrance to the kitchen. The "manager" can easily move it so that the one lone waiter can run the orders in and out of the kitchen. She also adds up the check on this makeshift "desk" and seems to have the credit card machine available here as well. There is a refrigerator where sodas are on display, and it seemed like there was a big, unused pizza oven near the back. There was absolutely no decoration save the high shelf near the entrance that had a hen made out of clay, a clay soccer ball, and three or four Peruvian backpacks. It was crowded. The clientele looked to be Peruvian families who wanted home-cooked food that reminded them of their country. I am not Peruvian, and am not an expert on their food, by any means, but, as I said, I live in a huge Peruvian community, and have been spoiled because the food of the restaurants where I have gone in Elizabeth,NJ is far better. Don't get me wrong. It was good. My husband ordered the jalea (which is a fried seafood platter), which came out quickly. It was hot, and very good. My daughter ordered 1/4 rotisserie chicken with fries, hold the salad. They didn't hold the salad, but whatever. She liked the chicken, loved the fries, and ate every single last bit of her food, which she never does. I ordered the lomo saltado, which also came out quickly. I thought the portion was a little small to what I am used to, but it was good. Now, my little boy ordered the rice and beans, and everyone else in the entire restaurant received their food before my son. I was mad, but he is a very patient little boy. When it finally came out, after speaking to the owner/manager, he ate every last bit of it and exclaimed, "Mommy, it was worth waiting for!" On a scale of 1-5, I am rating it a 3. Service: horrible. One waiter for 50 people is a recipe for disaster. Cleanliness of the restaurant and bathrooms: less than average. Not inviting, and not anywhere that I would invite friends to. Food: Good, but not great. Prices: average. Next time, I will go one exit on the NJ Turnpike for Lomo Saltado. Less gas money and yummier flavor. read more
