I would have guessed the ink on 1-year warranty would have dried before I'd need to use it. Sadly, that isn't the case. Now, I'll need to pay to rent a car for another multi-day stint with AAction. (I don't suppose they'd be gracious enough to pick up the tab for continued inconvenience)... needless to say, I'm not terribly satisfied with AAction Better Built Transmissions right about now...

After being told at a high end shop that it was probably the transmission pump and it would run about $1700 to $1900, I decided to take it somewhere else. I advised this high end shop that it may be the tranny fluid and to please check this first; however, was told that the fluid level was fine. I was referred to WiWi's by a nearby shop and when I arrived I was greeted by WiWi himself! He took me for a spin and immediately mentioned that it was probably the fluid level. He pulled the car around back while we chatted, asked his employee to top of the transmission fluid. What came next shocked me! His co- worker states "I don't know how this car was running, it just took 5 quarts of transmission fluid". I was shocked!!! The best part about it was that when I asked WiWi what I owed him, he said nothing just buy me an expresso and we call it even. Unbelievable!!! I didn't know honest people like this still existed in the auto business! WiWi's shop will always be recommended by me moving forward. P.S. I am at a bakery buying pastelitos and expresso for my new friends. :)

As we approached Miami very late in the evening our van dash board, all of a sudden, went crazy! The gauges were flickering all over the place. I never experienced such a thing. I thought, what the heck is going on! I coasted onto a dark & isolated off ramp shoulder. We called AAA to be towed. Eventually, we ended up in the hands of Laz at Action. Whose shop not only does transmission work but the most reasonably honest general car repair work. In a super clean shop, employing hard working, knowledgeable mechanics. Laz was terrific! He located the problem. The repairs were quickly completed, getting us back on the road in no time. All this time after, still no problems with anything his shop had repaired. Class act business. There was nothing wrong with my transmission. I simply wanted it serviced since my truck has 79k miles. I went in for an estimate and the shop wanted to replaced other parts . I was told failure to replace the suggested parts would for sure cause my transmission to fail. I was given the price and I went into shock! I knew I needed a second opinion. I arrived at this shop explained what I wanted and what I was told at the other shop. The owner then told me that I did not need anything other than an oil change! He told me to come back when I reached another 30k miles to service it again. I was given a very reasonable quote and they performed the oil change. I saved many hundreds of dollars. The assumption was we needed to replace the throttle body. After quoting for the replacement ($100 less than the dealer), We dropped the car off for the repair. S+R called and said after testing and evaluation they were not comfortable replacing that part, since the issue seemed to have resolved itself. They explained that no harm would occur if the throttle acted up again - and bring it back if it did. No charge!!! Who does that? What honest and great service.

So I had them change it, first they ordered the wrong part and had to leave it overnight and I was promised to have my car returned by 10:30 am. I received a call from the shop owner tell me it's ready at 2pm for a job they claim took only 20 min. Over the phone I asked if everything was good and if the A/C was working! I get told everything was running great! I get there and to my surprise it was not working and the owner tells me "hey I was just told to install a new fan". Very crappy response from the owner in my opinion. Had to get my car fixed elsewhere and I really doubt I'll be going back. Not to mention it wouldn't kill them to great you once you walk in instead of the person at the counter giving you a look like if your a bother to them! Had a burnt clutch on my Mustang, told them I wanted a Mcleod Clutch and they told me to order it…read more I did, dropped it off and they said they would take care of it. Got my car back and it ran like crap. Felt like a cable was slapping around, back up lights did not work (They did prior) and the clutch chattered a lot. They told me to let the clutch slip and it would wear down. Brought it to Bob's Automotive in Sunrise. They told me the transmission mount was ruptured, the transmission was only held in with three bolts, the throw out bearing was never changed and my clutch cable was extremely loose. The pressure plate was warped and the back up switch was damaged. Had to re-pay to have the transmission done again. Car runs great now. I also paid less for a new clutch and labor then Gold Coast charged me for just labor...so not a good experience.
