I value honesty and that is what I got at this shop! Let me explain: I wanted a transmission fluid change and a Freind recommended a different shop. There was nothing wrong with my transmission. I simply wanted it serviced since my truck has 79k miles. I went in for an estimate and the shop wanted to replaced other parts . I was told failure to replace the suggested parts would for sure cause my transmission to fail. I was given the price and I went into shock! I knew I needed a second opinion. I arrived at this shop explained what I wanted and what I was told at the other shop. The owner then told me that I did not need anything other than an oil change! He told me to come back when I reached another 30k miles to service it again. I was given a very reasonable quote and they performed the oil change. I saved many hundreds of dollars. Update, the transmission these people built barely lasted 25k miles and broke down. I called and took my car. They didn't even look at it and said they would have to get another new one. When I hung up he called me and said he would have to study. What would he study if he didn't even test the transmission to see if it was the solenoid or the torque converter. Long story short they'll never try to fix your transmission just sell you an expensive overhaul. If they are going to have a shitty service and take three months to build a new transmission you'd think they would at least put in the effort to make sure what they built isn't fuckin trash. But it is. If you come here they'll try to sell you a transmission and then go to the fucking junk yard and make you pay an arm and a leg for fucking junk that breaks like what they gave me, then when you call back after 20k miles they'll try to sell you another shitty one. Spend the money and Go to AAMCO or at least wiwi like everybody else in Miami. read more

May 2019. Truthfully, I left there totally disillusioned that he couldn't solve my transmission problem without the need for a complete rebuild. Based on all the good reviews, I was excited about coming to have my transmission fixed here. But as I've come to expect, I left there with the same broken transmission I came in with. Laz provided good service giving me free sodas and offering a complimentary oil change for next time i came in. The only thing I hated was that he wouldn't even consider the possibly that my transmission problem could be something other than what he had concluded. He was unwilling to perform nothing other than a rebuild. Despite, my transmission having only 9000 miles on it and the slipping issues coming on suddenly, not over an extended period of time. But, He was right about one thing the problem is a mechanical one. As, I've just learned that a troubled valve body is considered a mechanical issue. Based on looks and online reviews it's a very good place to have a transmission rebuilt. read more

I took my antique 1982 datsun280zx and i had the transmission rebuilt,based on his (Laz) recommendation to rebuild as it was leaking fluid, and the car is 40 years old and in great condition.I am so happy I did,i feel the difference, they also took great care of my car. I hate to give positive reviews because they always end up backfiring, however I received great service with my transmission about 30 days ago. Had a little bit of an issue with the shifting, that Laz said was related to some kind of relearning he had to do to it??? I don't know I'm not a mechanic, but I asked him to keep it, drive it as long as he needed and the issue was resolved I think. I say I think because my wife is currently driving the truck and says she hasn't felt anything like before. It was like a shuttering type of thing when it was shifting. He even offered to give me $20 for the gas he had used which i adamantly rejected. Matter of fact he asked me to bring it back to hook it up to a computer, at no charge, to try and figure out why the check engine light won't turn off. I'll update if things go south which I don't expect. read more

Laz and team, thank you for taking care of my classic Jeep's transmission. You should put a picture of it on your website because it wasn't easy. My 1983 CJ7's transmission crapped out right before I had to move out of state. I was lucky I was able to get Laz to rebuild the transmission. This is a Borg Warner T4 - Laz was able to secure the replacement parts to rebuild this sucker. You can't just find this model of transmission. Needless to say I'm very grateful for the work they did and would recommend any classic Jeep owner to trust Laz with your cars. Called the shop the morning of 11/12/2021 and had a few questions about a CVT transmission and the cost of a potential fluid change. The gentleman on the other side of the phone said come over and we will check it and see if it needs the fluid changed. That went by very well. A few hours later I got there just after 4 and there was only one gentleman there obviously not the guy I spoke with. I asked him that I spoke to someone there and they said they will check the fluid and let me know if I would need a fluid change. The guy says "I mean the CVT transmission is not a good transmission but the fluid should be changed between 55k to 60k" I then told him that my wife (the daily driver) told me that there might be something wrong. He shrugs it off says I don't know and starts acting like he can't answer transmission questions when he works at a transmission shop. I ask him if he does any other work like oil changes and stuff. He goes you might want to call back and ask the boss man I don't know how much he charges and were too busy to take on any more work. I said ok don't worry and left. Wouldnt go there again just a bad experience. read more

DISHONEST and UNTRUSTWORTHY. This guy Lazaro is a true piece of work!! He looked at my car and said the transmission needed to be rebuilt. He also said there was a leak in the rear main seal which he would repair at no extra labor cost since the transmission was going to be taken out anyway and would be an easy fix. I agreed to have him do the work. A day later, he tells me the motor mounts needed to be replaced but would be inexpensive as each would be roughly $15-20 so I said go ahead and do it expecting an extra charge of $100-$150 at best. One week later he calls to say the car is ready and sends me the invoice charging $410 for the motor mounts. I called, we had a discussion and he DENIED saying the mounts would be inexpensive. Next comes the continued leak.. I checked everything and turns out the rear main seal was still leaking so I called him, reminded him of our conversation where he would repair that seal and he said "bring the car we always take care of our people" I take the car and he comes back with an $1100 estimate!! I went over our conversation where he told me he'd fix it while doing the transmission work and he again DENIED ever saying that to me. Needless to say, I didn't do the job with him, my car is still leaking, something so simple that could've been taken cared of while he did the transmission work- which he was paid $1600 for. He's a LIAR and a FRAUD who takes advantage of people while trying to play the nice guy role. The least he could've done was admit his mistake and apologize but he took the cowardly road and simply denied everything. Typical. Only reason he got a star is because I had to put one so that I can post this. Feel free to reach out for more details. ** The amount charged for the mounts was removed because you knew you had ripped me off charging $410 to install something that cost $80 when you "weren't charging labor". As for the rear main seal, you said you'd do it free of charge since the transmission was going to be out anyway- wouldn't have been on tHe invoice. I took the car back a couple weeks ago in hopes you'd do the right thing but you didn't. Thanks for the offer but I wouldn't trust taking the car to your shop again. read more

This is my first review, I usually don't have time -but after taking my Jeep in for a full service, I wanted to express the outstanding service I received from Transmission Guys! After service was completed (super fast) I returned home to find a small oil leak. I called, spoke to the owner, who assured me he would take care of it. Returned the next day, they found the problem (which had nothing to do with the services performed) was a known Jeep oil coolant issue. They ordered all new parts and had my Jeep fixed up good as new- with NO EXTRA charge! I would totally recommend this place to anyone! read more

I took in my older Toyota 4Runner for what I thought would be a complete transmission flush, but the owner Laz was very honest and told me all it needed was a less expensive fluid change. My truck has been driving great since. For me, a Homestead resident, it was a little difficult to get in and out of this warehouse district and that is why I didn't give them 5 stars. My service took a little over an hour but it's ok bc there's a McDonalds right there & you can get breakfast while you wait. This review is long over due!!! Our family traveled from Philadelphia, Pa to Miami, Florida in late August two summer's ago. We were in & out of many area's sight seeing on our way down. As we approached Miami very late in the evening our van dash board, all of a sudden, went crazy! The gauges were flickering all over the place. I never experienced such a thing. I thought, what the heck is going on! I coasted onto a dark & isolated off ramp shoulder. We called AAA to be towed. Eventually, we ended up in the hands of Laz at Action. Whose shop not only does transmission work but the most reasonably honest general car repair work. In a super clean shop, employing hard working, knowledgeable mechanics. Laz was terrific! He located the problem. The repairs were quickly completed, getting us back on the road in no time. All this time after, still no problems with anything his shop had repaired. Class act business.
