Fast food, service is something to be desired. Car park can be a little crazy - drive thru is a no go!!

The wraps are well constructed and bites of flavor. The fajitas are also well executed and thoughtfully presented. The menu is a bit out there, but accessible to the open-minded.

As a bar it is decent, seems a bit rough about the edges in a dive bar type of way, but the clientele usually are ok and the atmosphere always seems pleasant enough. It's got a lot going on, In that there is a club down stairs, food is served upstairs and there is also a lot of focus on it just being a pub. I've been a good few times and it's usually mobbed. I think that's partly because there ain't any other decent pubs on queen street (that I can think of) and it means everyone heads here. In other areas it might not be my first destination, but where it is it ranks quite highly amongst the places I would stop for a pint if passing. Sometimes it even has some unusual bottles of craft beer hidden in the fridges which is always a good thing. Could be a three on anther street, but a better option on queen street, so I will go with a positive 4 stars.

While the service was very welcoming and friendly, unfortunately the food was very disappointing. We had the buffalo wings and the pulled pork sandwich. The wings were tiny! Only included the "flats" which had a minuscule amount of meat on them, but the sauce was very good. The pulled pork sandwich was a very odd pairing of flavors. It had bland, dry pork (with no bbq flavor whatsoever), lettuce, tomato, an onion ring and some coleslaw. I'm giving 3 stars for the friendly and attentive service. One star for the food.

Well, if you really want to know I had French toast, bananas and maple syrup. Yum! Anyway, way off topic here. Aye, so The Crafty Pig. Hmmm??? Well it has a new menu and an interesting sounding one at that. We were initially only popping in for drinks but the smell of food grabbed us by the ghoolies, well if I had any that's were it would be grabbed. I had a cheeky wee Frulli Strawberry Beer to whet my whistle and opted to have the Macdog for my main. We also inquired to the bacon popcorn which they didn't have in. I thought it was going to be something awesome but it's just bacon flavouring on popcorn. The girl explained that the top list of sides were actually all bar snacks. I was a little disappointed. My Macdog arrived and I have to say that 'd' word again. Yup, I was disappointed. It was bun heavy, very dry with a funny tasting dog and the driest macaroni pasta (no sauce) topped with three triangles of plastic cheese. Now, I loooooove cheese but I cannot stand plastic cheese. Don't get me wrong, presentation looked good and I'm thankful for the chip portion but I really didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped. I was super tempted to get the doughnut burger, which I may have to share by looking at Gordon M's photos. I'm not giving up on the place. I like it, to be honest not much has changed since the now past gone LUAC days. They did a cracking redecoration job so there isn't really anything that needs updated yet. So thankful for the ladies toilets being refurbished. I hated them in the Hubbards/The Wise Monkey days. It's definitely worth swinging by for, they have plenty of activities going on including their games room featuring a pool table. Keep an eye to their facebook page as their website seems to be currently down. So, whose up for the doughnut burger?

You see, I've found it ridiculously hard to find a chilli cheese dog in Glasgow that has blown me away. The chilli is too hot or not hot enough, the cheese isn't melted or there just isn't enough of it, the hot dog is of a pretty poor quality... the list goes on. Finally my quest is over. Burger7 have been crowned my hot dog knights in shiny tin-foil armour. Burger7 have been on mine and Craig S's "Top 5 to Try" list for a wee while now so when the mood struck us for some USA dining we decided to take a wee drive out. I found a local postcode and placed a justeat collection order so it would be ready for us arriving. (I won't go into the saga that we thought we were ordering from the Coatbridge restaurant and ended up ordering from the Airdrie restaurant by accident!) I had ordered my chilli cheese dog, some gravy fries and a side of mac and cheese (always!!!) and couldn't wait to tuck in when we got home. First, the gravy fries. It is not your average chips and gravy. The gravy was thin, homemade and sweet, with a tomato-y tang to it. It tasted delicious and went well with the perfectly cooked fries. The portion was absolutely huge too so I was quite happy to share when my little one and hubby decided they wanted to try them too. The mac and cheese was really creamy and well seasoned, with a lovely hint of sharpness. I'm crazy about mac and cheese and this was some pretty good mac. The portion size was just about right, but again my wee one had decided that this looked pretty tasty too and helped me eat it. Now, I know you want to hear about that hot dog. As it was foil wrapped for our journey home it was a mess... a beautiful one at that. The bratwurst was juicy and flavoursome without being watery or greasy. It was also huge and outsized it's bun. The chilli wasn't too chunky, had a nice kick of heat to it without being overpowering. And it was just covered in melty sharp cheese. Everything tasted great on its own. Together, it was pure bliss. I've been searching high and low for that hot dog and now I've found it you can guarantee it'll be a regular part of my life now.

We ordered the jerk chicken starter and the chicken wings to start, both were really tasty and a great size for a starter. We then both had fish tacos for main course, considering these are £10.95 on the normal menu these were definitely worthy the money. The fish was perfectly cooked and came with the right amount of avocado on top. We also ordered a portion of fries to share, which where skinny chips, and agin really tasty. The deserts were an additional £3 extra and the cheesecake was definitely worth a try. The service was great and the girl left us to chat after desert before asking if we needed the bill. For the choice on the pre-theatre I would definitely go back and try the others!

Looking through the cocktail menu, THEY HAVE SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM. I'll definitely be coming back soon. As it was a really warm day (and I love ginger beer) I opted for a Shirley Temple mocktail which was so refreshing - exactly what I needed. Food wise, we ordered the Ultimate Sharing Platter which came with onion rings, stuffed potato skins, BBQ chicken wings and nachos, served with a selection of dips. Everything was cooked perfectly and we loved everything. Definitely no complaints. For £15.50, it is excellent value. Staff were friendly and really attentive, providing water for the table and making sure we were looked after. We had a look at the dessert menu (I was tempted by the Key Lime Pie) but we were so full from the platter we decided to give it a miss. Will definitely be back for cocktails soon!

Dennistoun BBQ does super casual dining really well. You order at the counter and wait around 10-15 minutes (maybe longer if its super busy) and then they'll shout your name so you can grab your food. I have very specific taste in beef burger so more often than not, I start with a chicken burger at a new place before trying a beef one - I think chicken is generally done better than beef. This chicken burger was RIDICULOUS in size, it was mostly all hanging out of the bun as it was so big. Am I complaining? No way, it was absolutely delicious and had that juicy, smoky freshness from grilled chicken that so many places screw up by overcooking. It was hard to eat though so I ended up just aiming on eating the fillet rather than the burger. I tried a couple of sides; cajun fries and mac cheese. The cajun fries are amazing and probably the best I can remember eating in Glasgow. There was just the right amount of seasoning and they packed a good punch. You know what makes Cajun fries even better? Dipping them into mac cheese. Oh yeh, I went there and I'm not ashamed. My friend Sharon M wasn't all that impressed with the mac cheese but she is pretty judgemental (I mean that as a compliment, she makes a damn amazing mac cheese) - personally, I liked it. It was cheesy, the mac was cooked just right. Simple, and good. This isn't the kind of place to eat and then sit about chatting with your pals, so we headed up the road for dessert. I'll be back sooner rather than later for more of that ridiculous chicken. They also do takeaway - phone in your order so you don't have to wait too long as it was really busy on a Friday night. I understand why.
