Had to catch the end of the month sale!
Miss D.

Nice selection in stock and prices are comparable to others in the area. I like the monthly specials/deals, too because every bit of savings (especially right now) is a bonus! Everyone is super helpful in answering questions or getting boards for you. Even engaging in conversation about current projects you both are working on. The downside for me is driving from Petaluma to Berkeley and I do wish they were open on Sunday... but whaddya gonna do? They got the goods! For the specialty woods watch for monthly sales. Sign up for their mailing list and you'll get all the details! Oh yeah! They have a little store too! I mostly go for wood but they do carry all things woodworking related. Give em a look!

Wood cut to size.
R J.

Nice selection of wood. Decent prices. Cuts though are pathetic. I was expecting the cuts to be up to par with home depot or lowes so I gave them exact measurements. I received butchered wood like they are using a demo blade. I did not realize how bad it was til driving to North Bay. The measurements were 1/4" off making it unusable for my purpose. I had to go to Home Depot to buy a new piece where all cuts were within 1/32nd of an inch and with smooth edges. There are other comments here about the saw. I'm assuming it is worn out and rather than fixing it employees get blamed.

Great source for a large variety of plywood panels and furniture grade hardwood. We are lucky to have them in the Bay Area.

Came by this past weekend, and I was amazed by this place from the moment I stepped inside. It's a…read moregiant warehouse space organized into nicely labeled sections, and there's a massive yard out back with even more secondhand products for sale. The diverse offerings include bicycles and bike parts, furniture (sofas, tables, and more), lots of chairs, rugs, luggage, tools, electronics, speakers, musical instruments, CD's and records, remote controls, items that make you feel like you've gone back in time (like cassette tapes, vhs tapes, and floppy disks), books, toys, model trains, light fixtures, baskets, kitchenware/appliances, board games, crutches, building materials, doors, windows, bathtubs, toilets, garden sculptures, mirrors, cabinets and shelves, decorative items, artworks, plumbing hardware, door knobs, plastic cups and bottles, hats, shoes, and clothing. They even have scrap glass for mosaic or stained glass projects. We ended up purchasing some drum rings, as well as an awesome tote bag for just five bucks. The line at the front counter gets long at times, but it moves quickly with helpful workers making sure everything goes smoothly. You can even cut the line if you're paying with cash. No returns are allowed on items such as electronics and clothing. Dogs are welcome inside, with countless signs posted noting that it's not a poop and pee zone. There's also a sign near the toy section stating "unattended children will be given candy and a free puppy."

Very recently I witnessed Urban Ore stop staff placing thousands of CDs into the trash. I asked…read more"why"? and was told "the cases were cracked or the discs were scratched". I went to the front and offered to take the CDs they were sending to the landfill. I stated I had boxes with me - the staff seemed amenable however when the manage Claudio was asked he overruled them and stated "no" - the CDs are now on the landfill - I have a machine to resurface discs, a press to flatten creased artwork and thousands of cases - however a company who's catch phrase is "zero waste" dumped" thousands of perfectly salvageable items. I contacted Urban Ore via email, via messaging and tagged them in social media as well as posting on their own FB page - no response. People donate items to Urban Ore thinking they think they are keeping them out of the landfill - the behavior of Claudio shows that this is a lie and Urban Ore appears to be a scam.

BRIEF TAKEAWAYS: -They have the friendliest and most helpful…read morestaff of any hardware store I've ever been to. -They don't just sell lumber. They're a hardware store too -They have multiple pickup spots. TL:DR VERSION: I went there to find a shelf and find some 2x4s. They turned out to have way more than just that. They're a full-on hardware store. I ended up also getting wood screws, plastic sheeting, and painters tape too. Staff was very helpful and friendly. One of them helped me find wood for shelf (in the size, color, and finish that worked for my project) and order 2x4s They have multiple pickup locations for different orders, all within a block of each other. I got my 2x4s behind the store, and the guys happily cut them to the lengths I needed. They directed me to their other location acrid the street. I went down Folger a little too far and ended up in their other outdoor lot. The gent I talked to in one of the offices was very friendly and helpful. He stopped the work he was doing and walked out in the rain to show me where their corner warehouse is. The guys at the corner warehouse were also friendly. They got my order cut to size and loaded it into my trunk. One of them helped me with a refund on items I didn't need. This is the best experience I've ever had at a hardware store. Their service is exceptional, and they had everything I needed.

Skylight and Sun - Skylight factory in Berkeley? Moo.

Skylight and Sun

Buyer Beware! Robert Singer, CEO/CFO of Timberline…read moreManufacturing (Timberline Geodesics), and main point of contact (apparent proprietor) for Timberline's subsidiary/affiliate, Skylight and Sun (att 3, 4, 5, & 6) has defrauded me of 5 skylights, for which I paid $8022.40 in 2019, as part of a Cypress dome kit, for which I paid $60,654 (att 7, 8 & 9). He has refused to meet his ethical obligation to deliver, despite repeated attempts to contact him by phone and email over a period of two years (att 1 & 5), demonstrating clearly, in common parlance, that he is a determined thief and a determined liar (see #2 below). For all attachments ("att"), see: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/141MaCML9AkMYHKdjLpJmkJVgpLA7KKKq Considerations: 1) I am a veteran who has served this country honorably. I simply want to put a complete roof over the heads of my three children and live quietly. What kind of man defrauds a veteran of such a basic necessity, taking his money and incorrigibly refusing to deliver what has already been paid for? 2) Per attachments 5 & 12, Mr. Singer compounded his determination to defraud me with deliberate and calculated deceit, claiming, since my request for delivery in January 2023, that he no longer manufactured windows. 3) The skylights and framing are integrated items in the invoice, and only repel weather when combined (duh), yet Mr. Singer and his lawyer want to now back out on completing the delivery, offering me only a partial refund, intending to leave me to bear the burden of $3,365 for the framing, which is useless without the skylights. Again, what kind of man deals with his customers this unscrupulously? 4) Meanwhile, I also bear the burden of maintaining temporary covering: attempting to secure it to slick metal flashing is like herding cats. Mr. Singer's 'answer' is that "the framing is integral to the building," and "should not have been damaged by weather if cared for properly." This begs the question: how are 5 gaping holes "integral to the building?" 5) Mr. Singer's billing ethics are questionable. For 215 board feet of skylight framing and ~86 ft of 10 in 24ga flashing, he charges a whopping $3,365 (att 7). Even with a generous 3 man hours of labor, this is an incredible amount, compared to a reasonable calculation (att 10). This gives a reasonable person the impression that Mr. Singer has padded one portion of his bill (framing) to the decrement of the other (skylights). Given that quotations for the custom skylights (triangles) far exceed the amount he originally billed, any attempt to claim a refund for the skylights alone puts the customer at a significant financial disadvantage, while padding Mr. Singer's wallet. 6) Despite his clear breach of ethics, Mr. Singer is willing to compound fraud with veiled threats of litigation and attempts to silence me with money insufficient to procure skylights, engaging his finances to consult a lawyer to help him avoid his ethical obligations. This begs the question: if he has money to consult a lawyer, why does he not use that money to meet his ethical obligations? Does that not prove he is more fervent in defrauding his clients than in meeting his ethical obligations to them?

5-Star Review for Marti (and Alana!) at All Natural Stone…read more As a Project Manager at Green Bay Modeling, I've worked with many showroom reps over the years, and All Natural Stone continues to stand out largely because of the amazing support I've received from both Marti and Alana. Before Marti became my main rep this past year, I had the pleasure of working with Alana, who was always helpful, responsive, and supportive throughout our early project phases. She consistently pointed me in the right direction, and I truly appreciated the foundation she helped me build with the showroom. In the past year, Marti has become my primary rep, and she has been an absolute game-changer for my workflow. She is hands down my favorite rep to work with. My clients love her, I love working with her, and she has a genuine gift for helping us bring beautiful projects together. Her design insight is sharp, her follow-through is impeccable, and she's incredibly proactive often anticipating needs before I even ask. Whether we're sourcing slabs, selecting tile, or coordinating details, Marti makes the entire process smooth, efficient, and enjoyable. Both Marti and Alana have contributed to my great experiences with All Natural Stone, but Marti's support this past year has truly elevated my projects and strengthened the trust my clients have in our selections. She's an exceptional rep, a reliable partner, and a joy to collaborate with.
