In short, my wife and I had a great experience here and the dealership's follow-up has been excellent. I had been searching for a used car for over a month and had visited about 20 different dealerships to test drive and meet with dealers. Some of them were pretty shady and some were very pushy. I was not set on a certain make/model of car, though I had a few in mind. I was mostly concerned with getting a low milage vehicle with good gas milage at a good price. Eventually, I ran across a great deal on a 2010 Honda Fit Sport at Mac Auto and met with their dealer, Tigran. He was straight forward and honest about any issues he knew regarding the car and agreed to fix a few minor scratches we noticed while test driving. He also let us know they had a 30 day warranty if we noticed anything else the initial weeks owning the car. About a week into owning the car I realized the horn wasn't working, so I took it to Mac Auto and they determined it required a clock-spring replacement. Although it took a little time for the part to come in, they repaired it without any hassle for free. Both times I went in for the car to be repaired, Tigran was nice enough to chauffeur me out around town so I wasn't stuck just waiting at the dealership. I see some of these other reviews and I get the sense that some people don't know what to expect from a used car dealership. Most of these vehicles are bought at auctions. The dealerships do their best to diagnose any problems with them, but things will arise if you are driving these cars on a daily permanent basis that someone who test drives them for problems initially may not notice. The difference between a bad/good dealership is that a good one will repair those types of problems when they come up, and that is certainly what Mac Auto did for us. We did not get the sleazy used car-salesman pitch at any time while we were there, and we were not pressured or bullied into buy anything (none of the, "what can I do to get you to buy this car right now, today" I dealt with at several of the other places I visited earlier that month). After experiencing about 20 other places, I really have to say Mac Auto and Tigran treated us better than any of the other places and its why they got our sale. read more

I never really did trust small dealerships but i was wrong for taking so long to check out this Truck that I've been eyeing here for a while. I shopped for a truck for nearly 35 days and i finally decided to stop at this dealership. All the other places have all these "add on's" to their advertised prices. I bought a car from Marty and his guys. He told me that, as my friend, he would be sure to give me the best deal. I was very niave and didn't know anything about cars. When I bought the car it had a few "small" problems. He said they would all be fixed within a couple days. Since I worked in the same lot as them I thought it was no big deal. The smaller problems were taken care of. However, there was one problem that he could not figure out and said that I would just have to live with it. Which I did. That minor problem, that he said wasn't a problem at all just some weird "no big deal noise" ended up being major. Then i looked on line and found out the car that I just spent $10,000 actually only goes for $1500-$2000!!!! I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in this. The guys at MacAuto are the best! I had just had the crappiest experience at Santa Margarita Toyota in Rancho Santa Margarita. I mean, every negative thing you've ever heard about car dealerships happened to be my experience. Side note: my father was a car salesman for most of my life and so I had grown up practically using car dealerships as my personal playground so I did not go into this with a negative mindset. But this review is not about them. It's about the wonderful breath of fresh air experience I had with the guys at MacAuto! I found them through either CarGurus or AutoTrader, I can't remember now because I looked at so many cars before I found this one. I had gone to 4 different dealerships and test drove 5 cars before finding MacAuto. Dave was extremely helpful in answering my questions over the phone before I went there. My boyfriend and I went to La Habra to take a look at the beautiful blue prius they happened to have on their lot. It was in amazing condition (except for a little scratch on the paint and a missing part in the trunk which they totally were happy to repair and replace for me at no charge). Dave was with us on the test drive and he was really pleasant to chat with. Then he handed us off to the general manager, Andrew. He was really chill and I didn't feel sales pressure from him or anyone else there. He was extremely helpful and was able to get the car to the price that I was happy with. No hassle at all. A complete turn around from my previous experiences! I began the process of buying my vehicle and Marty the finance manager was also really cool helpful. I was able to pick up my car a week later after my financing wen through! I'm from the Bay Area, but my family down here referred us to Mac Auto Sales a few years back and since then we have only ever purchased cars from here. Okay, what is the problem!? I have been to a lot of car dealerships in my life, but this is the first time I ever went to a lot that was only used cars. There was none of the runaround, none if the game-playing. The owner, Marty, showed me the car I saw on his website, I took it for a test drive, I liked , he checked out my car and gave me a trade-in amount I could live with, then he handed me off to his son for the financial part. We did all the paperwork, he ran my credit (which is excellent), we added on a couple of extras, and I am about to drive out of here in the car I wanted for a price I like! I recognize that it is possible to have problems, and I don't know how well the car will hold up, but this experience was SO much better than any other car buying experience I have ever had. I found a truck on CarGurus that I wanted, which was being sold by Mac Auto. I spoke first with Dave who followed up swiftly with me via email. He was completely helpful and low-key, rather than pushing the hard sell. I then worked with Marty Jr, who was more than gracious, helpful, friendly, full of knowledge. Unfortunately, someone was ahead of me in line to see the truck and actually flew from San Francisco to purchase it, so I missed out on the truck. To have a dealership honor that kind of loyalty to customers though, rather than just selling it out from under someone, is in itself unusual to find. Marty assured me that if the gentleman didn't purchase it that day, I was next in line for a shot at it. Fuck this place. Bought a used 2004 Jetta and it is nothing but shit! First had to take into them literally like three days after I bought it so they could "fix" paper work for a smog test or whatever and then fixed a probably for me that I had bought with car. NOT TOO LONG AFTER THAT my reverse stopped working.... Yeah I haven't had reverse on my car since March/April when I get it in Feb!! Now it needs a new battery and transmission, power steering! Mac used to be located on La habra Blvd; the current location is on Imperial and has the same great management. Marty, the owner, is fair and honest in his dealings and has always taken care of me and my family and that is why we refer many friends there. Mac Auto only has nice and clean vehicles. To my understanding, the owner still buys all of his inventory himself so he can maintain quality. If you ever run into an issue, Mac Auto will make it right because they are a local business and part of the community--that is why these guys are successful. Although I have never used financing there to purchase a car, my friends have and are happy with their rates. I bought a infinity Q45 from these guys. The car looked great outside,was clean, interior was in good shape for the age. I noticed the keyless entry was not working and asked if they would fix it before i purchased the car. Richard said yes no problem. I returned the next day to make the deal, I asked Ari if the fixes had been made he said yes the car is in great working order. EVERYTHING WORKS. Ok great I purchased the car drove it home. A hour later I go to get in the car and go, and it is dead. I mean dead. No power to anything. I call mac crooks and ask what is going on and they basically said you are on your own, and hung up. I had to tow the car to Cerritos Infinity and have the car reset because mac crooks never fixed the keyless. they did something to by pass the system. (per Infinity ). It ended up costing me 2000.00 more in less than a weeks time. So the moral of my story is DO NOT BUY from these guys!!! They are LIARS,CROOKS,and ARROGANT PRICKS. WARNING WARNING WARNING stay away from these guys I traded in a nice Ford Ranger and got a Mercedes So far I have put $10,000 in repairs. The check engine light came on 3 days after I purchased and they would not do anything to help me. They sell Mercedes, BMW, Audi and other high end cars that have not been repaired properly for resale. Do not be fooled anybody can wash and wax a car to make it look good.
