I never had a male doctor but I'm glad I switched to Dr. Wang, He makes me feel very comfortable, caring and actually listens to what I'm saying, answers all questions and always finding a solution instead of saying "You're pregnant, what do you except" which those words came from a female doctor, which is why I made the change in the first place which I'm extremely happy and pleased with my choice! I normally don't write reviews, but I feel obligated to share our experience with Dr. Mamaram Ceesay at MacArthur OB-GYN in Irving, so that other families--especially first-time parents--can be warned. My wife started her prenatal visits early in her pregnancy and was assigned to Dr. Ceesay. From the very first visit, things felt wrong. Dr. Ceesay was routinely late, showed no interest in answering questions, and often made us feel like our concerns were a burden. As first-time parents, that was devastating. At one point, Dr. Ceesay told us we were fully covered to deliver at Baylor Scott & White in Irving, and we trusted her. But when my wife later had a fall and needed an emergency checkup, we went to Baylor Scott--only to find out later from Dr. Ceesay that we were not covered there at all. She suddenly said we'd have to deliver at a hospital in Bedford, over 90 minutes away from our home, and told us that was our only option. When we expressed our concerns, her tone was cold and dismissive. At our 39-week appointment, she asked if we wanted to schedule an induction. We said we'd prefer to wait until 40 weeks. She agreed and said she'd see us next week. At our 40-week+3 appointment, she asked if we wanted a "sweep" but didn't explain what that meant. We declined because we didn't understand. After we looked it up outside the clinic and realized it could help initiate labor, we immediately went back in to ask for it. Dr. Ceesay refused, saying we'd need to book another appointment and left. We then asked her to schedule the induction. She said, "You declined last week, so now they'll fit you in whenever they want." No guidance, no support. At this point, my wife was past 41 weeks, and we had no idea when or if she'd be induced. We tried calling the clinic, sending portal messages, and leaving voicemails. No response. The front desk even hung up on me--twice. I eventually called the hospital myself. They confirmed that they were unable to reach Dr. Ceesay or her medical assistant, despite multiple attempts. After days of stress and no help from the clinic, we were finally scheduled for induction at 41 weeks and 4 days. When my wife was admitted, she had to undergo an emergency C-section--the umbilical cord was wrapped around our baby's neck, and we nearly lost him. We spoke with clinic management afterward, and they promised a follow-up within 3 days. It's been weeks. They never called back. Dr. Mamaram Ceesay's care was negligent, cold, and dismissive. She ignored our messages, abandoned us past 41 weeks of pregnancy, and showed zero compassion. If it wasn't for our own persistence and the hospital staff, we could have lost our child. If you're considering MacArthur OB-GYN in Irving--especially as a first-time parent--please think twice. The lack of communication, professionalism, and urgency could cost you everything. read more

I am currently seeing Dr. Livingston and it has been an amazing experience so far. The visits are organized, lab orders, ultrasounds are all well informed, I get my messages via portal answered patiently, accurately, and on time. Along with these, my every discussion with Dr, Livingston has been very satisfactory where he not only patiently listened to my questions but answered all of them, along with that he also build a great relationship with me and my husband and we always have a good laugh while talking with him. The doc, Dr Carleo is very good. However the staff, in particular one of the medical assistants, is awful. Can not EVER reach them. Never ever a call back. They have a call center that answers every call, in Timbuktu, that can't even call them. You can never ever talk to the front desk! No follow up after finally getting them after 2 weeks. I went there to the office (third time) and they Said they were waiting on approval of surgery from the insurance company. After a long time and trying to call three x,s I contacted my insurance company. They never ever received an inquiry from MacArthur Medical Center nor from the medical assistant. If it wasn't for dr Carleo I would give them a ZERO. Horrible patient care. I would not refer them to anyone UPDATE because they were supposed to schedule my surgery and because I could not get anyone to answer other than saying that the insurance has not approved it. After over two weeks my husband went down there so that he could understand the process and what was going on, Dr. Carlos told him to leave after his assistant apparently got upset or something. I don't know. My husband is extremely professional and never raises his voice. It was Ludacris. And then after that? I got a call in one hour and the surgery center told me I don't know what they're thinking but you don't need to get the surgery approved. Let's get you in right away and scheduled me for that Friday. However, apparently because my husband's visit? The next morning I received a note on the portal saying I am no longer Dr. Carlos's patient and he has canceled my surgery. He gave me no warning, he gave me no time to find another doctor, or even go through another 2 months of finding a surgeon that will actually do something. This is somewhat patient. Abandonment I have since found. It came out of nowhere. Please please please think twice about going to MacArthur medical clinic. Apparently Dr. Carlyle owns it and doesn't care what his patients think. He never asked why my husband was there or anything else for that matter. read more

I'm a fairly new patient and I was a little afraid when I was looking for a new OB since mine had retired. Since day one I came in Dr. Price made me feel comfortable and welcomed. I'm so glad I found them. Now I'm pregnant and Dr price has been great helping me with this pregnancy. She's so knowledgeable and cares so much for her patients. The front desk black lady working at check out at the Mccarthur obgyn suite 500, is super rude. I had an appointment today and before I checked out I had to speak with her to book my next visit. She had an attitude I'm assuming because she didn't want to do her job. But she didn't even acknowledge me I had to say hello before she briefly looked up. She continued to text on her phone while I was speaking to her and she finally put her phone down long enough to ask for my information. She seemed annoyed the whole time I spoke to her. She should definitely not be working at a place that deals with pregnant women 24/7. Our hormones are everywhere we definitely don't need the extra stress. The whole experience here was ruined for me thanks to this lady with the nastiest attitude. Please do better Mccarthur you do not need people like this working here. Also to add two more cents to it. The lab work department is one of the worst places I've ever gone to get my blood drawn. The whole vibe of that suite is weird. There's no longer anyone checking you in you just ring the doorbell to announce your presence or what I experienced today apparently you just bang on the door and someone opens the door. The lady with the blonde hair and black roots was extremely rude when opening the door. Which I kind of understand because the other pregnant female that was in the room waiting with me decided she'd bang on the door. So I could definitely see how or why the nurse lady was annoyed. But she also seemed annoyed the whole time there was a little problem we encountered and I tried explaining it to her before she drew my blood but it seemed to have annoyed her even more. At that point I just said it's fine go through with it I'll figure it out later. Again people like her should not be working here. 11/22/21 What an exciting time for expecting Moms. Anticipated sonograms and scheduled visits with the OBGYN makes the pregnancy more successful. I been a patient of this facility for about four years. First, I was seeing Dr. Carleo. I was experiencing some infertility at the time. He had zero recommendations other than IVF to increase my chances of getting pregnant. He had an awesome Medical Assistant (MA) but he had no sympathy or emotions. This time around I am seeing Dr. Patel. She started out with one medical assistant and now she has two. Dr. Patel started out being very nice. I sent her message in the portal about receiving some additional testing and if she could give me a call. Little did I know this was the start of the relationship going bad. The MA messaged me and said, Dr Patel was not going to call me and why do you need additional testing? Turned out after calling the appointment line, in order for your doctor to call you one had to set up a phone call through an appointment. After several portal messages and the phone appointment, I finally got the lab request for additional testing but it was like pulling teeth. So difficult. After this, I began waiting an hour to see the doctor. I asked her was there a reason why I was waiting over an hour to see her? Her response was, a procedure she had scheduled ran longer than expected. Unfortunately, the wait time since then has become even more extensive. Today, I had an appointment scheduled for 9:45 am. Checked in at 9:43 am. Another patient that arrived after I did, was called before me. I was called back for vitals and urine sample at 10:32am. I asked the MA why was the patient called back before me. She said oh I will have to check the check in times. I was sent back to the waiting room because there were no rooms available to wait for the doctor. Labs: labs have NEVER been completed correctly. I always had to go back and give more samples because the lab report was filled out incorrectly. I am 38 weeks and this is my first time having a successful lab visit. I tried sending messages through the portal to rectify the situation to no avail. The MA responded, if you are unhappy with our services, we will gladly send your medical records to a doctor you prefer. Having a scheduled appointment means absolutely nothing. I tried to switch doctors within the same Macarthur family. The appointment scheduler said, it was written in the notes to not schedule me with any other doctor than Dr Patel. I tried to go to another doctor. I requested medical records. After three weeks they were not sent. During this 3 week wait, I got to visit with a Nurse practitioner at MacArthur OBGYN. The wait time was not even 15 minutes before being called back to see the doctor. I felt trapped with Dr. Patel. My boss allows me two and half hours for a break/appointments. I was not able to see Dr. Patel within this time frame. Her staff is just too slow. I had to take time off from work to see her. I messaged her in the portal, while waiting for her. "I hope to see you today. I am on a break and need to leave no later than 1pm." I did not see her until 12:30pm. She rushed in, " oh I know you need to go so I'll be quick. " I was rushed. My appointment was scheduled at 10:40am. All the questions I had for her were not answered due to being rushed. Not fair. It is now 11am and I have yet to see Dr. Patel for a scheduled 9:45am appointment. Prescriptions: I told her about some symptoms, she told me to use Vaseline. After asking other Moms their is an over the counter med for the symptom. Her recommendations for every visit I have had with her starts off with, due to your age and race, I need to run this test and that test. Cool. Do I have to be reminded of my age and race EVERY visit? Due to the wait time and not rectifying issues, I do not recommend Dr Patel's and her staff to any first time Mom. It is now 11:32am and I am still waiting to see Dr. Patel. My appointment was scheduled for 9:45am. I checked in at 9:43am. She finally came in at 11:34am; visit lasted with Dr Patel 4 minutes. Phone calls for abnormal results: I have never received a phone call from her. She sends a message in the portal. I asked the meaning of an acronym she used for the abnormal results; she sent me a link to read more about it. Random thought: you will know Dr Patel's area from all the other doctors' because the lights are always off. read more

I saw Dr. Livingston once over a year ago and was not at all pleased. In sum, Dr. Livingston showed no concern for my breast health/family history of early breast cancer, and he just threw a bunch of tests at me (promising they wouldn't be too expensive) that wound up costing me several hundred dollars. On top of that, no one could be bothered to inform me of the results (I had to ask) or keep an appointment with me to review the results (I was scheduled to go over them with Dr. Patel, she canceled, and then I was told I would have to fill out some paperwork all over again because SHE had to reschedule...so I didn't reschedule). Today, a year later, I decided to give the place another shot and tried to schedule an appointment with Dr. Gray, whom my friend recommended. I was told I'm not ALLOWED to pick my doctor unless the facility approves it because of a "gender discrimination" policy they have that makes it harder to switch from a male to a female doctor. How ironic considering that Dr. Livingston, a male doctor, only seemed to be concerned with the part of me that can be used to make babies (which I personally find sexist). I said, "if it helps, I don't want to see Dr. Patel, a female doctor, either," but it didn't. I was told to leave a message with someone who could consider my request, but, in true Macarthur Medical fashion (since the staff has consistently been incompetent), the line I was transferred to said voicemail was not an option. I am so offended by this I am shaking. How disrespectful, inconsiderate, and ignorant for a facility to deny me the right to change from a male doctor to a female doctor. Update: I have an appointment now with a new doctor outside of Macarthur Medical, and it just so happens to be a male doctor. That's right, my problem with Dr. Livingston isn't that he's a male (shocker); it's that he and office suck. read more

They are concerned with charging you with shit you never received and refuse to let you speak to billing. They charged me 200 dollars for what I have yet to see or receive an itemized list for. I am EXTREMELY disappointed with this facility. Not only has my doctor, Dr. Patel, had to move my last 2 appointments and was an hour late to my last one, now I was just told that she will be out with a "family emergency" for EIGHT WEEKS. I understand things happen but it's not like she's having a baby- I am. Now I am 2 months out from delivery with NO doctor. The nurse, Novia, even cut me off on the phone when she was telling me! I am beyond upset and lost. They are not handling this situation in a professional way what so ever. I was told a person in charge of doctor transfers would be calling me. I have reported Nehal Masalawala to the medical board for her treatment of myself during my daughters birth. She was rough, pushy, rude and she cut the umbilical cord herself without asking anyone! This was the last thing that was connecting me to my daughter and she did it herself. While I was pushing she told me that I wasn't doing good enough! Calls are outsourced to India, takes days to get a reply from the true office. Dr. Carlio is cold, no consultation during the visit, any results- normal or abnormal- are only sent via the portal. No phone calls to let you know if there are abnormal results. You have to be sure to check and no description or information is provided with your results. Very hard to get prescription refills, Dr. fills only one year exactly and timing the annual exam with the exact number of prescriptions is difficult. Office is cold, somewhat dingy and dated, everyone seems bored and uninterested in their jobs. Dr. Carlio is borderline rude, always in a rush, makes you feel like an inconvenience. Will be seeking a new doctor. read more

This is my wife's and I first baby. Doctor Colette Dominique has helped us since the beginning. When we go for our appointment we get there 10 minutes early and the staff always see us. The staff is so friendly and take care of our needs with no issue. We highly recommend this OBGYN. Super helpful. It's in a great location. It's right up the street from the hospital. As much as this facility has grown through out the years you would expect patients to have the support of bilingual reps or at-least their front desk staff show the interest in assisting a patient . Being told their appointment has to be rescheduled for the second time due them not understanding or having the device knowledge to fill out or update their paper work is very disappointing and discouraging! It takes over an hour to even get a rep on the phone to make an appointment and to arrive to an appointment and be told you can't be seen due to a simple misguidance .. Irving lacks resources as all the good doctors and offices such as boardwalk obgyn and others have moved to nicer areas such as Plano and frisco and Irving is left with terrible providers, understaffed offices, and just such limited options. Do yourself a favor, don't go here just because of the location and reviews. You're better off driving somewhere else to be seen you'll get done faster and have a better experience. read more

My wife is 38 weeks pregnant and being so close to the due date, I want to make sure I am there with her for any doctors appointments and get all information needed for our child. Unfortunately, MacArthur OB/GYN seems to make it their goal to be as disgusting and unhelpful as possible. Most of the doctors on site will not allow guests in even if they are the father of the child or spouse of the patient. And if you are lucky enough to find a doctor that does allow guests, they discriminate and require you be fully vaccinated to enter. Asking for someone's medical records is A breach of privacy and not allowing someone in based on those records is the definition of discrimination. After being told I am not allowed to attend the appointment, I was told I had to wait outside due to my vaccination status. The waiting room was completely empty and it was pouring rain, yet I was told to wait outside. Not going to lie, I lost my temper and used some colorful language with the jokes of employees and went to the car. They then told my wife that due to my outburst, they might discontinue her status as a patient. So you're going to punish my wife for my outburst because you told me to stand in the rain because you violated my privacy and discriminated against me? Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. read more

I was told I had up until 6 weeks postpartum to pay for labor and delivery. I am due in 3 weeks and then just told me I have to pay BEFORE I deliver because their policy just changed January 1st. This is unacceptable. They set improper expectations and I am not prepared to make that payment. I am an existing patient and new policies should not apply to me.
