Everyone from the front desk to the nurses, to the awesome PA and of course the doctors themselves. Dr. Brown is our primary but we have seen Dr. Trang for a sick visit. Dr Brown was patient, answered my questions (actually LET me ask her unlike past peds) and gave me complete and understandable answers instead of short quick generic responses. My daughter has had 4 sick visits (day care kid) and each time we were treated thoroughly, quickly and efficiently and the PA or Dr Trang made sure I understood exactly what my daughter had and how to best treat it. I absolutley LOVE this office!

As an added bonus, Dr. Scott reserves half an hour every morning to answer any question you may have on the phone. He's very experienced and can get a visit through quickly and efficiently. I have 3 kids now, so I appreciate that! He can also stay and answer every tiny question and not get up to leave until you're finished asking. Also - as a worrying mother of 3 - I can appreciate the time he stays for my reassurance. He's a great doctor, give him a try.

I have been taking my children to Dr. McCoy for the past 12 years. He is an exceptional doctor, who…read moreI highly recommend. I have used him as the pediatrician for all of my children because I feel he goes above and beyond that of most doctors. I have countless examples of this over the years we have been going to him. Even in stressful situations, (like rushing my then, 3 week old daughter to the ER) he was there first thing in the morning and was able to put a smile on my face. He has a wonderful sense of humor with both parents and children. Anyone who has met Dr. McCoy, knows exactly what I mean. The excellence at Practical Pediatrics does not stop with Dr. McCoy. The whole staff is amazing. Linda, Kelly and all of the nurses are wonderful. They know us by name and have made me feel like part of "the family" since brining my first child in, 12 years ago. I understand how important it is to have the right pediatrician, so I hope my review can help give some insight. I am very fortunate to have been referred to Dr. McCoy by a family friend, so I do the same and recommend him to my friends and family. Several of my friends take their children to Dr. McCoy and couldn't be happier.

First, the positives. The office was very nice. Also, I liked the NP that we saw. But the reason…read morefor the bad review is because after visiting, we got a whopping $375 bill in the mail. Apparently, they are out of network for us, which I didn't understand because I confirmed they take Cigna. When I finally was able to talk to the office manager about it, she explained that they do take Cigna, but only certain group numbers. What?? She said "I have explained this to all my staff and they are aware." Well, if that's true, they decided not to take the time to tell me that, even when I gave them my insurance card to make copies! Either they aren't aware or don't care. $375 is a bit of a financial burden for us but a nice bit of extra cash for them, right? So they probably just didn't care. Worst part, I'm still trying to figure out how we will pay the bill when I take my son to a different doc but Practical Pediatrics won't release his records while there's a balance. They also wanted to charge me $25 records transfer fee, which she said she'd waive once I pushed back. So I paid the balance on a credit card and am hoping they'll actually transfer his records. All in all...these people obviously see patients as walking money-makers. I'd avoid.

Horrendous experience that I am going to back up with this extensive review…read more 1) The doctor we saw was rushing through the exam and scraped the inside of our infants ear during the ear evaluation and said "if you see a little blood later, it's not a big deal" 2) We use mouth tape for our daughter at night to correct her jaw alignment and address some gut issues, the doctor told my wife that was "mean" to do and doesn't work. 3) My daughter was wearing pig tail braids and the doctor tugged on them and said "girls wear pig tails so boys can pull them" - how weird is that to say to a 5 year old girl? 4) He refused to share with us a vaccine list to get our daughter caught up saying "I don't do that" Overall, this was just a prime example of a factory pediatrician facility with a hint of very weird comments to a young woman.

Dr. Rios insisted that before working with our son, he undergo a prolonged period of being on ADHD medications. We've looked into ADHD medications in the past, however, two pediatricians have recommended against using them with our son. One based on genetic testing clearly showing they would be contraindicated in our son. A second pediatrician also recommended against their use as ADHD medications have been shown to increase psychiatric disorders amongst ASD children (there are excellent peer reviewed journal articles regarding the use of ADHD medications in ASD individuals). To summarize, his recommendation of contraindicated courses of treatment is of great concern as is his cavalier approach.
