The world of motherhood starting out is a scary freaking place, and you can read a lot in the world of the internet these days which more often than not makes it even scarier. I took a leap of faith when taking my first baby to her first newborn check, a week after she was born, at this Cook's Pediatrics location. I scheduled an appointment for one of the colleague doctors, because the main doctors i'd heard about here were booked. I was booked with Dr. Jackson in August of 2012, and haven't looked back since. In fact, I just got back from an appointment with her and my second kiddo today in May 2016. Dr. Jackson has always honored my mother/kiddo questions, big, small, important, or silly (like today when I said semi-sarcastically... I'm afraid she has West Nile Virus!) with complete and thorough answers that have never, not even once made me feel like an idiot for asking them. She reassured me and walked me through statistics, and tips when fear of SIDS controlled my life for the first year of motherhood. Her bedside manner with children is absolutely impeccable and my children both enjoy her company. She can even get my younger one to crack a smile, and she starts screaming the moment we walk into the building. If Dr. Jackson isn't available, because she only works certain days (hey! she's a mom too!), we will see Dr. Leung. She is also fabulous! She is very thorough, talking things through from the beginning of symptoms and always proceeding on the side on caution with me, because it typically makes me feel better. When my first was 10 days old she had a red lump in the breast which they thought thought to be a serious condition. Dr. Leung consulted with a colleague who had been practicing for many years and brought him in to look before offering her recommendation of an ER visit. I always recommend these ladies to anyone with a new baby looking for a doctor in the Bedford area. They are awesome in their work, with kiddos and parents the same.

Need an appointment with a sick kid first thing on a Monday - OK you got it, can you come at 8:20 a.m. And if you arrive early - no waiting - we almost always get out before our scheduled time!!!! He knows his stuff and answers your questions. His RN is awsome as well, great with kids from top to bottom. While you pay the copay - the kids get to pick a sticker and have a giggle. In the lobby before you go back, there is a "well" child section and TV and a "sick" child section and TV. I went to another Cooks Childrens office for six months and left for their lack of professionalism, but this one is as good as I could hope.

The RN, Allison is the best. We took our youngest for her 1 year check up today (and 4 shots) and everyone knew and said hello to our 6. Great atmosphere. ** Update to the review below that I wrote 2 months ago - after emailing the manager and the intake…read morecoordinator a couple times, I never received a response to my complaints. My main complaint is that my son spent 6 months working with two of their speech therapists. For 6 months they worked on "s" and "s" blends. My son was not improving. I kept asking them if they thought he could hear them. They did not believe that was the problem. Instead they said his refusal to do what they asked was a behavior issue. They in fact said he was a behavior issue in his normal class as well as their sessions. The daycare directors and teachers disagreed with that assessment. These two individuals gave him an evaluation without my knowledge and the results of that evaluation placed him out of insurance benefits. After they told me the results of that assessment, I sought out hearing tests. Turns out, my son has moderate hearing loss in both ears. And guess what is one of the sounds he can't hear? "S". To my knowledge, every speech therapist at least has some training in hearing loss and should be able to recognize after 6 months of working on "S" and having a parent ask about hearing that the child might have a hearing issue and recommend some course of action. Once my son gets his hearing aids, we will restart speech therapy but not with this business. I wrote them a letter about my complaints and have received no response except a final bill the next day. My insurance company and my family have spent a lot of money over those 6 months for nothing. And money is precious with a child who now needs hearing aids and more services. My letter only urged they work on training for their employees so another almost 5 year old doesn't lose precious time on milestones and gets mislabeled as a problem child when they are struggling to hear and comprehend.

She helps with not just the skeletal system and joints, but also with fascial tissue, trigger points and knots to help open space and movement. She's able to adjust my neck without the turn and crack thing that I've always hated. I have RA with sensitive joints and my C3 and C4 move often. She helps straighten them with the moving table and it's not jarring or uncomfortable at all. I can't say enough good about this doctor. If you're looking for a a chiropractor, heck even if you aren't, you need to meet her and change your expectations of what a chiropractor can do.
