There are a ton of great choices. My husband always gets the Lau Lau - when we go to Hawaii he always has to get plate lunch, this fits the bill and then some. Chicken katsu is awesome - really tasty, great crunchy outside. The sauce is a bit sweeter than I like it, but I generally just eat it without. I have done both the mixed BBQ chicken and beef - and then I also have done them as single option, always delicious. Again, great portion size. And I get it with broccoli, which is just steamed and super fresh tasting, absolutely love it. We love the appetizers - spring rolls and gyoza - so you get a little bit of everything here. Gyoza appetizer size is so generous - 10 usually? Hubby also gets sesame balls, not my jam, but he loves them! Actually if they had jam, I might like em, ha! I think they are meant to purposely not be too sweet, which they meet that requirement.

You had the option to either pay out a kiosk or at the counter or online via QR code. The menu is on the kiosk behind the counter on the wall and also paper menus. Basic this is my first time I went very basic. I tried them Mongolian beef the side of rice in order lumpia, cheese wonton and spam musubi. Everything was very tastyl and the portions were enormous. I'm pretty picky about my lumpia and Mongolian beef and these were one of my favorites for take out!! They were not stingy on the ingredients and the flavor was on point with just enough spice. I can see this being my go to you when I don't feel like cooking I'll just throw a pot of rice on at home and pick up a few dishes. Definitely the Mongolian beef. I can't wait for the weather to cool down so I can try the soups. I have been wanting to find some place with a really good takeout, hot and sour soup. The Hawaiian Suns and sodas were perfectly chilled, and there was a large variety of Hawaiian sun. We went in at an odd hour between lunch and dinner so there weren't very many people there. However, every time we've usually pass by during a lunch or dinner hour at the place was pretty crowded. We had read many great reviews and see many videos about the place knew we had to stop by. We have been missing out. I can't wait to try more. I like that you had the choice of making your own combos for the Hawaiian plate lunches if you wanted to, and if you don't like spam , musubi you can try the Portuguese sausage barbecue chicken or Katsu..

This place focuses on Hawaiian and Chinese dishes and has pretty decent selection without being intimidating. My husband had a mini low carb plate with chicken, beef and a fried egg, and I had the cheese wontons and the honey walnut shrimp. The portion size was decent and not skimpy at all. The seasoning on the plate was decent, wontons were decently crisp, and the honey walnut shrimp was perfect. The sauce gets served on the side as to not make the breading on the shrimp soggy but even without the sauce the shrimp were so perfectly crisp, this is not exactly what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised. (Honey walnut shrimp is my go to dish) Staff was friendly, the place is well kept, there is a huge tv screen for some entertainment. Simplicity is best in this scenario. Will I go again? Absolutely. I definitely want to try what else they have to offer! You can order on the tablet at the front or with the cashier as well.

VERY DISAPPOINTED on how they did me. all the sides were average, nothing to talk about. if i were to ever come back, ill just stick with the beef ribs

The location that we went to is located next to Maggiano's Little Italy in Santana Row on Olin Ave. There is a free 2 hour parking structure across of the restaurant where my boyfriend and I parked at. We came during their Lunch Specials (until 4pm) and Happy Hour (from 3-5:30pm) which worked perfectly as we wanted something smaller in portion compared to the dinner portions. We started off with drinks. I got their Pig Ol' Bitties Blonde Ale, and my boyfriend got their Friday Beer & Shot special of This Little Piggy Went to [Mark]et with a 16 oz Dirty Little Pig IPA and a shot of Benchmark whiskey. My fault for having him get a whiskey shot on an empty stomach, though HAHA. He did like how smooth the whiskey was at least! We shared a 2-meat BBQ Lunch Combo Plate, and honestly, we should have gotten 3 meats because of how tender and delicious everything was! We got their Tri Tip and Sliced Brisket with their Garlic Mash and server recommended Sweet Potato Tots. Ahhh, everything was so good! Aside from the tender, flavorful meats, the two sides, especially the garlic mash, were sooooo good. We both loved everything! It was definitely a great choice coming during lunch as we were quite full after ordering one of their happy hour shareables of Chips & Queso (kind of pricey even for happy hour in my opinion for chips and cheese). Honestly wished we got their Chili Cheese Fries or their other fries which were the same price than just chips and dip LOL. But it was a good hold over food with us drinking a bit (at least for me). Shoutout to the only server who was working on a late Friday afternoon as she was doing her best to accommodate everyone + trying to clean up the previous tables. It was kind of sad seeing that the other workers didn't help bus the tables in my opinion. Overall, a great place to watch sports and have some good whiskey as this restaurant is known for their whiskey selections! The lunch BBQ exceeded our expectations, and we would definitely come back for another lunch special meal but probably with 3 meats this time!

Sure it's smoky, and it could feel like the table is greasy, but honestly, you are in a Korean barbecue place. What do you expect? Everything is ordered on a pad that sits at the end of the table. The orders came out really timely, and the plates got cleared pretty quickly. I like the fact that everyone can choose their own broth for their hot pot, while also growing up whatever meats are ordered for KBBQ. The beef tongue was actually my favorite, which was surprising because that's something. I typically don't eat a lot of. But the cut of this particular meat was thin, making it really nice and crispy on the grill. All of the veggies were great for the hot pot, including the mushrooms. I chose the herbal broth, which was actually very balancing a nice to my greasy KBBQ. There is a whole bar in the back with sauces, and other toppings, like cilantro and onion, as well as some fruit. I honestly don't have any complaints about this place, and I definitely would be back again. For four people, the price was not bad at all considering it's San Jose. I actually think that it was one of the more reasonable places to eat, especially if you're hungry.

After about 10 minutes, she seated us with an attitude. The floor around our table was dirty, and the grill had not been cleaned. When we asked someone to clean it, we felt ignored. Our server, Jennifer, helped us briefly and then disappeared for a while. Later, when our grill was burning and we needed assistance, we could see her talking with coworkers despite our requests for help. Other employees eventually stepped in, and I sincerely appreciate them. They provided most of the help we received, and I felt they were the ones who deserved the tip. The most upsetting part happened when we tried to pay. I placed my card inside the check presenter and saw Jennifer take it away. When she returned without my card, she said she had not seen one. Her response made me feel like she doubted I had put it there. While other employees searched for my card, she stood nearby without helping. Another employee eventually found it on the floor, and Jennifer then walked over and picked it up. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of concern and effort to resolve the situation made an already frustrating experience worse. I hope the owner takes this feedback seriously and addresses the cleanliness, staff attitude, and service. We left feeling ignored and disrespected.

It is definitely more of a grab-and-go place than a sit-down restaurant, but the food traveled well and made for a solid meal. The plantains were one of the highlights. They were sweet, soft, and cooked really nicely. The rice was pretty average and did not add much to the bowl, but the proteins helped make up for it. The salmon was cooked well and stayed moist, although it could have used a little more seasoning or sauce. The jerk chicken was excellent, with great flavor and a nice amount of seasoning. I also tried some of my friend's oxtail, and that was easily the standout. It was incredibly flavorful, tender, and something I would definitely order next time.
