Missed Deliveries, No Ownership, and a Refund That Should Have Been Simple…read more I'm leaving this review to document an experience that was far more difficult than it should ever have been. I purchased a KitchenAid dishwasher from Best Buy in Charlottesville for roughly $1,000, including installation. The store missed multiple scheduled delivery dates. Eventually, I was told the appliance could not be obtained and that the purchase would be refunded. At that point, the transaction should have ended. Instead, the refund process became complicated and poorly handled, ultimately involving billing and collection issues with Best Buy's credit card partner. What stood out most at the store level was accountability. Front-line employees were polite and tried to help. However, as I attempted to escalate within the store, the opposite of what you'd expect happened: the more senior the management level, the harder it became to get anyone to engage directly or take ownership of the problem. The issue was not resolved at the store and required escalation well beyond this location. This review isn't about one missed delivery -- things happen. It's about the lack of follow-through, ownership, and problem resolution when something goes wrong. For a major appliance purchase, that's concerning. Ultimately, the matter was resolved elsewhere, but the store lost my trust in the process. I'm leaving two stars because staff were courteous, but I would not purchase a major appliance from this location again.

I had gone back and forth 3-4 times because I am not very computer comfortable. He was very patient with me. He does deserve the 5 star rating. Thanks, Vicki

By December 15, I'd received a call that the watch was fixed, but then they backtracked and said it was still losing its charge. From that point on, it was radio silence; I called them on 12/22 and12/31, each time without them being able to tell me what was wrong with the device. By 1/30, they told me that the device was unfixable and then would send it back to Charlottesville to get it to me. And again, I heard nothing. When I called on 2/10, I finally spoke with someone helpful who'd admitted that the watch had been lost in the mail. I asked that person what could be done, and they offered to see if the company could help me replace the device; I asked to get that in writing in the form of an email, which they obliged and sent on 2/11. I've now responded to that email two times (on 2/14 and 2/17) hoping to move forward with the replacement of my device or some kind of a refund, and no one has answered. Fruit Fixed showed embarrassingly poor communication and bad customer service. I have no idea how their rating is so high - I feel like many of these reviews can't be legitimate. I now have to purchase a new watch and can't use my previous device as a trade-in because they have refused to help me when it was lost in transit between their two stores, and when apparently no one who worked there even realized it was gone. Pathetic.

I urge everyone to look at Fixed Fruit's responses to the reviews. In each case, they twist the fact to place blame on the customer. This is an untrustworthy business that is unwilling to stand behind their work. Strong recommendation to avoid! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I visited Fixed Fruit for a simple battery replacement on my iPhone, but the experience left a lot to be desired. During the repair, the technician damaged my phone's screen. Although they admitted responsibility, they still tried to charge me for a new screen instead of fixing their mistake at no cost. While the staff were not rude, their unwillingness to correct an error they caused raises concerns about the ethics of this business. Pro Camera is a bit of an unconventional camera/photo store because it's really a small retail…read morestorefront, behind which the main business is focused on camera repair. In the retail part you can buy a small to medium selection of film/digital cameras and supplies, but it's not the place to go for rack after rack of all the latest brands and models. They do have current offerings from a selection of digital brands for which they are dealers, but it's not huge. For film photographers like myself, again, they have a decent selection of film in various formats, but it's not as extensive as you'll find in larger stores. I try to buy my film from them when I can, because their pricing is the same as I can get anywhere and I want to support the small businesses that film photography absolutely depends on. The biggest threat to film photography's survival is the giant online retailers. Beyond the somewhat limited modern digital camera/lens selection, Pro Camera is one of the very few places you can buy expertly serviced film-era equipment or get your own properly serviced. I see on some of the other reviews people are complaining about pricing; well, in this area, you truly do get what you pay for. If you want a cheap film camera, go ahead and eBay it, but if you want a camera that will work properly and perform to factory specification for any length of time, the equipment at Pro Camera is a very smart investment. All the film cameras on their shelves in-store are expertly serviced, tested with very specialized instruments, and film-tested. In most film camera stores, little has been done other than a wipe-down and wind-and-click testing. Rarely does any store do professional testing with dedicated instrumentation; film-testing is pretty much unheard-of. Pro Camera is exceptional in this regard. By the way, the selection on their website is much smaller than in-store. I don't know why; I think it would be smart of them to offer all their gear for online purchase, but that's just me. The team behind the scenes at Pro Camera are world-class at servicing film cameras; it is rapidly becoming harder to find anyone even somewhat competent at this, and that makes it all the more extraordinary that they are playing a long-game and actually investing in expanding the number of technicians they have. I do camera repair myself and, as most camera repair technicians have done, I have sent my own equipment to a variety of others for repair. There's literally no one better than Pro Camera. And this brings me to my next point, the wait to get a camera serviced can be very long. That is a testament to how highly regarded Pro Camera's repair service is, among those who know the industry. So be prepared to pay what it's worth, and wait for it to take the time it's going to take, but getting it done right is worth it.
