I have had many friends recommend Mac Made Easy and over the past few years, I have gone into their Kihei, Maui location for my apple product needs and have always left with a good feeling dealing with a knowledgeable staff who is eager to help. My last visit required diagnostics and service on my iPhone. While one staff member was servicing another customer, staff member Joel immediately stepped up to assist me. Joel did a diagnostic on my iPhone to determine the quick battery drain "situation" I was having, but the findings indicated everything was in working order. Joel, very familiar with the products, tech support and trending issues with the devices, explained some possibilities and felt confident that he had a solution to start with. Joel made certain my iPhone was backed up and then he professionally handled restoring my iPhone to better handle the updates on my apps. Joel was very friendly, filled with aloha and kept the conversation light and pleasant (even fun)! Joel (and Tony) made sure I was comfortable in the store while I was waiting on my reboot and he made this tech support experience easy and pleasant! I highly recommend coming to Mac Made Easy for all of your apple support needs (over other options on Maui). I have been to "other apple stores" on Maui and I never felt welcome in these "other apple stores"; these "other apple stores" never seemed interested in helping or giving advice unless you are willing to have them service (even make a diagnosis) at their high fees. As a customer at these "other apple stores" I always felt I was inconveniencing the staff to help me (even though a made a substantial purchase there prior to Mac Made Easy on Maui). Very disappointed in Mac Made Easy. I have a IPhone 6S that needed a new battery. The speaker and ringer quit working. They ran a self diagnostic and told me I wasn't eligible for the $29 battery advertised because a code came up indicating the battery had overheated for 22 seconds at some point. As a result, they told me the same battery would now cost $99. [Baiting and Switching] Then, when i asked about the speaker and ringer, the code indicated the speaker needed cleaning, and, when I asked again about the ringer, he said he would have to charge me for any further diagnostics. "I am suppose to charge you when you walk in the door," he said. Then he tried to sell me a new phone. [Upselling] I said just replace the battery. Then he wanted my email address, and I said I didn't like giving a bunch of unnecessary information to just buy a battery. He explained why he needed it, so I gave it to him. Then he wanted a billing address, and I said I would pay cash, and he insisted on a billing address from a cash customer because of their "policies". Sheesh, I just took my phone and left. I phoned up Maui Cell Phone Repair and talked with Andrew (808) 359-4948. He said the new battery would cost $65 dollars, and he would take a look at the other issues while he was replacing the battery. When I picked it up 30 minutes later, he said it just needed a new battery and everything else was working fine. He didn't charge me for additional diagnostics, even though I offered to pay him extra, because he said everything was within normal diagnostics for changing the battery. Not happy with Mac Made Easy. Find a better place to take your business. read more

I had a very pleasant experience with Mac Made Easy. My 2018 MacBook Pro 15 had a swollen battery that distorted the whole case, and the touchpad was hard to click on. The lid did not close. So I wrote an email to the store and the very same day Chase responded with this being a general problem with MacBooks when they are connected to power and external displays all the time. He recommended to bring the MacBook in and they would take a look at it and let me know when they were done with the diagnostics. I did that and thought the repair cost would be pretty high, as the machine was out of warranty for 1 year already. When they called me to pick up the computer, I asked for the total cost of the repair. I was very surprised when Chase informed me that, except for the initial diagnostic cost ($95), there was no additional cost involved. Mac Made Easy had Apple convinced that the case with the swollen battery was a known issue with MacBooks, and they agreed to cover 100% of the repair cost involved. Excellent customer service, Chase! Imagine an 80 year old person walking into Mac Made Easy with no technical background with a frozen locked out iPad. A service person Anthony hears my story and says lets fix it, He exhibits kindness, patience, understanding, warmth and knowledge. In a few hours he had our iPad up and running. I have experienced service people my whole life both in business and socially. Anthony is head and shoulders above them all. You cannot train people to have a "sincere willingness" to help others, it has to come naturally. Anthony is one of those rare people that sincerely wants to help and stays on the project until it is successful. Mahalo Anthony, you are a rare find in the service industry. While I was on vacation, a giant wave killed my iphone while I was sailing. I went to Mac Made Easy to find someway to replace my phone for the rest of my vacation as economically as possible. ANTHONY was incredibly helpful, informative, kind & patient as we determined my options. It was complicated bc the phone was part of a business account for which I didnt have the password, & because I was unsure if it was covered by insurance. Anthony helped me determine if my data was saved in the cloud, gave me options & did not put pressure on me to buy anything before I determined all the confusing variables related to the business account and my internet provider. He was excellent & through his demeanor & kindness made a frustrating situation less so, & my decision-making easier. My experience was wonderful. My Mac book Air kind of crashed. After having a not very accommodating or caring experience at the other mac store on the island. I called mac made easy and Jole welcomed me to come right over. Carol and Jole greeted me as I walked in. They had enough staff to happily help other coustomer and to help me right away. Tony listened to my report of computer troubles and knew exactly what needed to be done. He is a mac wizard! External hard drive! He set it all up for me and transferred everything to the external hard drive while I went to Iao Valley. Much more fun than trying to do it myself! It only took a couple of hours and was very affordable. Carol was also wonderfully pleasant, supportive and knowledgeable. Even though Kihei is not near my home I would make the journey for any of my future mac needs. So happy they will soon have a store in Kahului. read more

We are staying in Kihei with friends. Suddenly my phone went dead! I couldn't get it to even open! It was 3 pm on a Sunday and my friend said, " Get in the car, I know who can help!" We went to Mac Made Easy, which is not located in a place that you would expect. But it turned out to be WORTH finding!!! Joel was wonderful! He knew exactly what to do. He was so understanding. I am usually pretty cheerful, but this challenge had me stressed! He took my phone and re installed the operating system, all while chatting and making us comfortable. Such a personable guy!!! Jon, Anthony, and Josh are fantastic. The moment I walked into the store they make you feel important. I had a computer problem where I thought I'd have to purchase a new lap top. They took the time to explain the problem with words I could understand. They gave me various options - purchase a new computer, fix the computer I have, buy a mouse for about $20, and disable the internal mouse. They suggested I just disable the internal mouse and save a lot of money. I respect their honesty. They could have persuaded me to purchase a new computer. But they didn't. They were honest. These guys are awesome, a local business that really focuses on helping customers solve their problems. I lost some really valuable data (photos) when not one, but two of my external hard drives went pau! But I had my old MacBook pro and Chase was able to harvest the data for me. In the process, everyone there was super helpful: Matt, Chase, Kahana and the rest of the staff always go the extra mile. I would highly recommend them to anyone who has computer or phone issues or needs some high tech experts who will treat you with respect and aloha, and not gouge or overcharge you either. I purchased an I-phone X a month ago from the Apple Store. For an unknown reason it would not power up after I shut it off for an hour. My first stop was Verizon in Kahului. They tried a soft re-start, but it still wouldn't power up. The Verizon solution specialist referred me to Mac Made Easy. I walked in to the store super frustrated. The staff was so friendly and easy to deal with. They did their "magic" and about a half hour later I was walking out with my phone working perfectly! I will return guys. I had the pleasure of working with Carrol, Anthony & Chris. They spent lots of time working on my iPad, Apple Watch and iPhone. They were patient, helpful and so knowledgeable. They fixed all the "problems" I had with my watch and got all my devices synced together! Yay! I have had 2 great experiences at Mac Made Easy within the last 2 weeks. I'm so happy they have opened up in Kahului. (I am sorry that they closed the Kihei store but its worth the drive!) Mac made easy has been the best technical support I have found on the island. I am a Verizon customer where I get no service whatsoever when having difficulties using my equipment purchased from them they always send me to Mac made easy. I'm always greeted at the door with a smile and helped immediately and a professional and very timely matter theyhave help me several times when I have come they're very seriously frustrated and left laughing. My pI phone was on the Fritz. Called Mac Made Easy in Kihei. Since I was in Kahului, they referred me to their newly opened store at 340 Hana Highway. There is no sign yet, but they are i the Alive and Well building. Anthony and Shane were super helpful and got the issues fixed quickly and had me on my way.
