Since I'm new to the area and hadn't been to a beauty supply here yet, I panicked and dived to my computer to try to find beauty supplies in the area. Google is no help and I seek yelp as I usually do when I'm at wits end. I see a couple of beauty supplies in the area but each one I call is either closing within the hour or don't carry Marley hair...until this one. They closed at 9:30 and they had the hair (~5ish bucks a piece). I hop in the car and race over there (+/- 5 the speed limit...drive safe kids). I get there around 9:24 at which point I call them back asking for where they were located. The guy not only gives me directions to where they were located (on the costco side of the mall, by Dick's sporting goods, inside the mall), he stays on the phone guiding me till I get there, and while I'm finding the place asks me what hair/color I was getting and goes and gets it, staying open a couple minutes past closing so I don't have to look like Beetlejuice with half his hair done. Some of the brands/items were being discontinued at this location only (ie. Tarte, Urban Decay), so several shelves were cleared out on my first visit. At my latest visit, the shelves were fully stocked and the store didn't look like it was going out of business. Customer service was super helpful. I needed assistance finding the right foundation and concealer shades and one of the associates gave me guidance and swatches to try on. When I asked about certain products, she was knowledgeable about which ones they carried and would verify if they had them in stock. Out of convenience, I left spending a pretty penny on a few items based on what they had... makeup is not cheap, people! While the Sephora rewards program still applies where you can accumulate points and redeem for perks, this is a JCPenney shop so the receipt says "JCPenney" instead of "Sephora." The return policy is more restrictive as a result - Sephora returns purchased at JCPenney Sephoras must be returned at JCPenney Sephoras (not any Sephora location, and vice versa). They do seem to be understaffed and not always attentive of the register. I observed several instances where customers standing at the register were ignored until they went to go and grab an employee. A service bell would be helpful if they're not going to man the register all the time. Between the JCPenney Sephora and a regular Sephora, the latter is definitely the way to go, but this location was passable in a pinch.

But we have been extremely careful and limiting where we go since the social distancing. I really had to think about going to the mall. But I finally decided wear the mask, if it's too busy leave. Bath and Body Works made the experience very comfortable. At the entrance to the store was a young lady with a table full of shopping bags. She asked if we wanted small, medium, or large. I picked medium, but of course had to go back later and get a second bag! As we entered the store Jayna asked us if she could help us find something. She was a pleasure to work with and so helpful. I had made a list of some of the fragrances I was interested in testing and she led me right to where I needed to be. She took a small piece of paper and sprayed the scents I wanted to try on it so that I could just slip the paper under my mask without removing it. I picked out plenty of products for my gifts, plus some for me, and got into the check out line, spaced apart with six foot markers. There were plexiglass shields at the cash register, the cashier cleaned the credit card machine after each customer, and there was a cart where you placed your shopping bag (or bags in my case!) and the cashier took items off, then replaced them as she rung them up. She offered me some gift bags and tags which was a nice bonus touch. All in all it was a nice, easy experience. The mall was not too busy, people wore masks and kept their distance. For old times sake we cut through Macy's, one of my favorite stores, to the parking lot. Reminded me fiercely of the "new normal", but have to keep remembering what we still do have.
